You know I think I have a theory as to why 17 and 18 weren't given the ability to sense life energy my theory goes as such: Dr. Gero intentionally left out the ability to sense energy so that they wouldn't be able to sense Cell in the event that 17 and 18 were to somehow escape from him during their first eventual meet up and since 17 and 18 can't sense energy Cell would be able to sneak up on them completely unnoticed however due to 17 and 18 being half human they can get rid of this weakness by simply learning how to sense energy just like how Vegeta did and they can do this as (spoiler alert: Calvin don't read this part) in the Buu Saga it's been mentioned on multiple occasions by both 18 and Krillin that Krillin had taught 18 to sense energy among other techniques such as the Destructo Disk

I believe its more in the present they had a goal that they never had. Goku was already dead by the time they woke up and with out a 16 they had no other goal but to mess about however they pleased. This could of either been thanks to the butterfly effect Trunks caused or because they got a taste for killing by the time they met the Z Fighters.

Goku's death in Trunks' timeline changed Gero's plans. Instead of making them stronger, he made them more cruel. The reason they're stronger in the new timeline Trunks created by coming back, Goku survived so Gero continued making them stronger at the expense of their cruel attitudes.
well there was a flaw with the idea of using the namekian dragon balls, i am not sure if kaiser and the gang forgot but in the original series I believe porunga said that as long as the person did not die of natural causes , they could be revived, and in this case goku would not have been revived since disease is a natural cause of death.

The Kais let Freeza and his family terrorize the galaxy and casually wipe out entire species, there's no reason they'd intervene just because things are bad on one single planet.

the kais don't have to do anything, they aren't directly responsible for what happens on Earth. Only reason King Kai interfered and gave so much advice is bc he and Goku are friends. As long as their quadrant is intact they dont care lol
For those who don't know, Monty Oum was an animator for Rooster Teeth who created the extremely successful show RWBY and was a major influence on the direction of Red vs. Blue. unfortunately that's where my knowledge of Oum ends because I only discovered Rooster Teeth after his death but from what I can tell he was a genuinely goodhearted person.

The answer to that is Shenron can only wish back people that have been sent to Otherworld (heaven) from a unnatural cause (like being killed from someone) & Goku died naturally. They couldnt wish Goku back because he died of natural causes. So not even the Namekian ones could've brought him back. HOWEVER, they could've brought back Piccolo with them, and then use earth's DB to bring everyone else back
There are moments where gohan seems to talk to Piccolo, only for when he dies, to learn he wasn’t. This is Gohans way of coping with the loss of Piccolo, something that makes the abridged version of this far better than the original.
The history of Trunks Abridged or not is still one of the most Tragic stories to come out of DBZ/DB. Not sure if Gokus reaction to Android 8 can top this.

Could you really blame them? Chrono Trigger is an expensive as shit SNES game. Sure you can get the DS port like I did, but the DS is not really the right console to immerse yourself in an RPG in my opinion.

There's also another unofficial rule of the Dragon Balls that I can't remember where it's stated, in an interview, etc. You can't wish someone back who dies of natural causes (Heart virus included) otherwise that same natural cause would take them the second they were brought back.

SuperSickMedia That's incorrect. Monty animated the fight sequences of RvB Seasons 8-10 (and he did a fantastic job)! However, he played no part, whatsoever, in the creation of RvB.

The King Of Anime Even if they had Piccolo and Kami's Dragon Balls, they already used them to wish Goku back to life during the Saiyan Saga so he could fight Nappa and Vegeta, which is why they wouldn't be able to revive him again. However, they would be able to with the Namekian Dragon Balls
Earth's Dragon Balls can't revive anyone that died of natural causes. And they have no way to get to New Namek since Goku's dead and can't use Instant Transmission.

8 years later I know, But the answer to Shane's question (shout-out to his "3rd Street channel) on "why the z fighters didn't use the dragon balls to wish back Goku after he had his heart attack?" The answer to that is Shenron can only wish back people that have been sent to Otherworld (heaven) from a unnatural cause (like being killed from someone) & Goku died naturally. That's why he gave Goku that heart medication in the past to save the Goku in "our timeline" thinking that it would fix his, Which it didn't.

They couldnt wish Goku back because he died of natural causes. So not even the Namekian ones could've brought him back. HOWEVER, they could've brought back Piccolo with them, and then use earth's DB to bring everyone else back

There are moments where gohan seems to talk to Piccolo, only for when he dies, to learn he wasn’t. This is Gohans way of coping with the loss of Piccolo, something that makes the abridged version of this far better than the original.
Future Trunks ssj is one of the best transformations alongside ssj2 gohan and namek goku and of course lssj broly in dbs
This is one of the best movie of dbz ever, TFS did not disappoint with this one
The history of Trunks Abridged or not is still one of the most Tragic stories to come out of DBZ/DB.

and NOW they are using Doomsday (the theme for the Season 2 Finale of Doctor Who) for Trunks finding Gohan's body
PLUS the time machine sounds like the TARDIS and that outro at the end.

They did explain it in the show how Trunks survived though. When he appeared again at the end of the Cell Saga Android 18 wanted to kill Trunks and 17 says

Apparently they did collect the balls but Pilaf stole the wish and wished to be young. It was explained in an extra chapter in recent years but only to explain why Mai was young in Trunks's future
