Hi everyone, I’m Eloise. I'm between my second and third year studying Law at The University of York and I'm an aspiring barrister. Thanks for checking out my channel :)
The video was really really helpful... Thanks for sharing your journey with us
Managed to guess all 3 correctly I’m so proud of myself tbh. Good luck!!!!
Wow well done haha, I thought that LSE might be quite tricky!
ahhhh i wish the best for you!!
Thank you!
Hi! Could I ask why you chose to do your masters before the btc? Just wondering if there's any benefit from doing it that way or if it was just preference :)
Great video! It seems like you did a lot of research. I look forward to watching your updates! I'm actually starting the LLB in September and I plan on applying for the LLM at similar schools once I'm done. Do you have any advice on activities, or experience I should acquire to beef up my application when the time comes?
Thanks! The most important thing with preparing to apply for these programmes is getting excellent grades. As far as I'm aware, the admissions for the BCL at Oxford are done entirely on academic merit. That being said, I believe that some programmes do look at work experience a little, and it is definitely a good idea to develop some wider interests anyway. I got involved in a research project, did some mooting, did some volunteering, and did some mini-pupillages, but I'd advise you to just get involved with whatever interests you.
Eloise Cordelia that’s great advice, I’ll definitely keep that in mind. Thanks for the response and be sure to keep the great content coming!
Perhaps make a video about funding masters/living costs during that year ? I guessed Oxford and Harvard correctly Laura.
I think that’s a good idea, I’ll definitely make that (once I’ve figured it all out myself haha).
Hey! Would you mind telling me if you applied to an inns of court yet? I’ve been told you are supposed to be doing this around your third year! :) good luck!
Thanks! I haven't applied to an inn yet. I have heard that it's a good idea to decide which inn to apply to based on the scholarships they are offering, so I'm planning on applying in the year before I do the bar course. As I'm hoping to do a master's next year, I imaging I'll end up joining an inn this time next year.
what's the update girlll
Hey I am also planning to apply for LLM ....since m from India can u do a video for international students applying for LLM program Thier requirements etc
You got some or not??
when did you get married? Love your channel btw❤️❤️
Thank you! I got married at the end of my gap year when I was 19, so I've been married for a little over two years now :)
wow!Amazing, but congrats! thank you for your content!@@eloiseslawchannel2129
What is a pupilage? Love from india :) :)
Pupillage is a year of training that you have to do to become a barrister in England. It's sort of like a legal apprenticeship that you do as the last stage of your education.
Eloise - it might be useful to check out: alicedoesphysics (CZcams) or Alice 🌟
@alicejanelake (Twitter). She has just completed a Masters in Theoretical Physics at Oxford. I've followed her throughout her undergraduate degree in Lancaster where she got a 1st and topped the year. She is very modest and a genuinely lovely person. I think that you would really like her. She chose Keeble College and was really happy there. I hope that your arm gets better. Wating 6 weeks for an X-ray result seems crazy. Good luck with your applications. Vivien 🌷🌷🌷
Thank you! I've actually watched Alice for a few months now and completely agree that she seems really lovely. I've found lots of her advice really helpful :)
