My good friend applied to Oxford too, his dream school, is one of the most intelligent and hard-working individuals I have ever met. Literally perfect grades, went above and beyond in super-curriculars etc. And he didn’t even get an interview either. I can’t imagine how heart breaking it must be but now my friend is THRIVING at an amazing college that suits him SO much more than Oxford ever could have and is going to put him in a better position when he graduates. It sounds so cringey to say but it is so true; everything happens for a reason!!! I still have no idea why he wasn’t even interviewed but it just goes to show that these things sometimes just don’t make sense.

I noticed that you applied to different courses at different universities. How were you able to show that you had a genuine interest in each course in your personal statement? I've heard that students who apply to different courses at different Universities often struggle to show where their real passion is. Would you mind sharing your experience with this?
Heya the courses they applied to are similar in terms of PPE as each subject, philosophy, politics and econ, often overlay each other in different aspects of the degree.
Hey Yash, congratulations on your acceptances! I am a British citizen living in Africa, so I'm in a similar situation to you. In your introduction you mentioned that you didn't qualify for home fees for all universities EXCEPT King's. When I applied, however, all the unis I applied to classified me as an international student. Was there a different criteria by which King's assessed you, or did you reach out to King's directly to explain your situation. I am currently reapplying and I would love some advice. Thanks!

Heyy, just a heads up, we call ‘colleges’ universities here (which I’m sure you knew) but in the UK you’ll never hear anyone talking about e.g Warwick as their college.

It’s fine . I graduated from Canadian high school. I got an 98gpa . I received offer for most of the Ivy League school in USA and most of school in Canada but waitlisted by queen( eventually get in) which are ranked way lower. So the score isn’t the only thing matter . You did good job already . You get accepted in many other one . So congratulations

I feel like u should have got into oxford
I know this is an old video but for anybody else watching who's been rejected from PPE, don't worry, it's not that you're not smart/ good enough, oxford PPE is just stupidly competitive. A friend of mine in the year above didn't even get an interview and he was predicted 4 A*s, was head boy of the school, involved in tons of super-curricular activities, debate etc. So it's not that you haven't tried hard enough, it's literally that there are so many applicants and Oxford only has a few places.

In my opinion, LSE is the best uni and the hardest..
Cos, unlike other unis, it seeks more than academic achievement.
