Been so close so many times. Surprised teams have kept inviting the Mountaineers. Almost took it off UNC last week. And were :47 from taking down Penn State in 2018.
Went to App State in the early 90s. We beat Wake Forest over homecoming weekend in '92 (they were ranked about 147th) and the school partied for about 5 days. The next September, NC State beat us 56-3. App's head coach at the time said, "The turning point in the game was when the Wolfpack came out onto the field." Little did we know what this team would become.
Don't know that anything will top the combination three-peat championship in our division and, ultimately, The Win against Michigan in The Big House.

Go Mountaineers! Attended App in the early 90s and the student body thought we'd arrived when we beat a lackluster Wake Forest team homecoming weekend. Had no idea that a decade later the team would make a living out of outplaying big time college teams. Were less than a minute from ruining Penn State's year before, and last week were a better three yard pass from taking down UNC. Go App!

Texas A&M's last four recruiting classes were ranked No. 1, 7, 6 and 3. The Aggies just lost to App State who only had one recruiting class ranked inside the top-75 over the last four classes. 2021 was ranked No. 63.
Gotta put the blame on the coaching. All those top 10 recruiting classes and not much to show for it. No playoffs for you Jimbo Fisher
Always recruit very good to great yet you look at an NFL roster and they have the 17th most active players. Same with Florida State under Fisher though he's partly been cycled out of responsibility for it. Always top 10 usually top 5 recruiting there, yet 25th in players on an active NFL roster
Fisher and TAMU are death sentences for elite recruits looking to parlay their talents to the pros it's amazing they still get away with their snake oil

Ik something was gonna happen when A&M only beat Sam Houston State University 31-0 cause they really didn't dominate like you would expect a top team in the nation too. The qb also threw 2 picks against them as well.

Most college football teams are overrated Alabama, Georgia, USC , Florida St etc I could name 50 more off the top of my head.
They play these teams like temple, Dayton, app st , they win 60-0 and think they’re #1 what a joke these ratings are.

Well--App State does seem to be the school to dish out upsets. Most of their fans still remember 15 years ago when they stunned Michigan. Last week it was Texas A & M and today stunned Troy with the Hail Mary pass.

I think App State has reached a point where they aren’t just another FCS school anymore. They actually do pretty well when it comes to the game.
They aren't FCS anymore. They moved to FBS since 2014.
For the record, I am a proud Texas Aggie, class of 1986. This was a game embarrassment. It goes way beyond getting beat at home by an unranked team when you're number 6. I put this on the fat, over ranked blowhard of a coach. Your team would be lucky to be in the top 30 at best. All we've heard is what a great recruiting class you have. They must have been someplace else, because the team you had on the field sucked, period. Then, there's your quarterback. Last year, he got hurt and was replaced by Zach Calzada, who carried the team and even beat Bama. You rewarded him by kicking him to the curb. You clowns think you can hang with Bama or lsu? If Fisher had and pride, he'd resign and take a job as a Walmart greeter. Oh well, maybe next year...

I am an Ohio State fan and clearly remember how our high-flying offense got blown out against Purdue and ruined what might have been a playoff season. It happens to most teams at some point. I have no doubt that A&M will play well the rest of the way.
