For the mark on the oven, there is window scraper. I've used it many times, it's a bit scary the first time but it works wonder. It's to research, but i think that mixing vinegar and backing soda together cancel the effect they can have individually. The chemical reaction is the only effect they have. PS. It's always a pleasure to watch your videos 🥰
For drains, my plumber warned me off baking soda. He said it can lead to clogs because it settles and can accumulate in low spots in pipes. He said dish soap is the best option. It dissolves fats etc that can accumulate. Pour some down the drain and let it sit for awhile. Then flush with lots of water. He also suggests this before you leave on vacation: squirt some dish soap down every sink and shower drain and leave it. It can help prevent plugged drains.
I’ve heard about the dish soap trick! Might start doing that!
My plumber also recommended dish soap. He poured about 1/4 cup down the drain and let it sit and do its work. He suggested doing this before using the dishwasher. The hot water draining out of the dishwasher will finish the job. (Edited with the help of @MyFocusVaries, Thank you!)
We need to remember that combining vinegar and baking soda makes a small volcano but the reaction is actually the two substances neutralizing each, thus leaving a solution that is neither an acid nor a base so it's not really doing anything.
@@fiddlersthree8463 to clarify, put the soap down the kitchen drain before you run the dishwasher (don't put dish soap in the dishwasher).
@@MyFocusVaries Oh my gosh, yes!!!! Thank you!!! Yes, 1/4 cup dish soap in the dishwasher brings to mind an old I Love Lucy show where her kitchen was filled to the ceiling with bubbles.
There must be something different about plumbing in Sweden, because in another video she dumps coffee grinds in her sink pipe - which is a no-no for pipes in America.
Love the 8 fold cloth trick! ❤
It is a good one!
Aww, Bridge Kitty!
Yes, every single morning!🐈⬛
I love the bridge! Bonus is such a flexible elder statesman! 😺💗
Haha, it never fails! Every single morning!
I always love seeing your flat, it's so streamlined and visually soothing. It definitely influenced me when I redecorated my living room and dining room.
I’m so happy if you found inspiration on my channel!
Me and my daughter were so excited to see the notification about a new video from you Benita. :) We said 'yay'. :)
Aww, I love that you both watch!
If you pour boiling water down the drain before and after it won’t settle.
Thanks a lot! Your videos about seasonal routines and preparations help me to be at peace with the flow of time. I live in a climate with a dark winter, like you, and your videos help to feel cozy and to take care of oneself. I like your calm and confident voice and the uncluttered colour palette of your visuals.
I'm so happy you enjoy them!
Im a retired professional cleaner. For toaster oven and regular oven glass, I use a single edge razor blade ALWAYS WITH SOAPY WATER, never dry. (I use either CitraSolv [US] or Dawn dish liquid, somewhat diluted. ). There’s a metal holder that is excellent, as it can bring the blade inside it for safety. ( allow them to dry to minimize rust).
Thanks for the tip!
For folks wanting cleaner recipes, the big thing I've learned recently is not to mix vinegar into your soap mix. Vinegar is an acid and neutralizes the soap's cleaning power. Clean first with soap, then use vinegar separately for its degreasing and disinfecting power.
Interesting and good to know!
@@BenitaLarsson The same with baking soda and vinegar.. vinegar (acid in vinegar) neutralizes the baking soda. Hot water will do better job with baking soda. ;-)
@@vierad Yeah I use baking soda to help with dirt and smells in soft things that don't go in the washing machine, like stuffed animals. Can even just apply a layer dry and let it sit for awhile (for things you don't want to get soaked) then gentle surface clean. Might take a few applications over time but I've seen it help a lot.
@@purpleicewitch6349 interesting. Though my son's stuffed animals went for "bath time" in the washer and dryer with no I'll effects.
@@MyFocusVariesyeah it depends on how they're made and what they're made out of. I have a few that are specifically surface clean only, a few that would probably be fine in the washer, and one who probably would have been fine in the washer years ago but in her old age not so much lol
The only trick to keeping the oven clean I’ve found is to clean it every time it’s used. After it cools, I spray it with vinegar and wipe all the surfaces with a microfiber cloth.
I should do that!
This is where being a minimalist really pays off. So much easier to do a deep clean. I gasped at the window steamer, I have never seen those before. That would be fantastic for my glass shower panels. I’m on the hunt.
Yes, cleaning is for sure so much easier when you have less stuff!
look for Kärcher steamer, you can attach window cleaner heads, excellent quality, you will love it!
@@NataschaFlamisch Thank you so much!
Hello Benita, in Germany, we have copper cloths and cleaning stones, the two together work wonderfully for baking trays. If you have something like this in Sweden, I can only recommend it. For the oven door, I can also recommend the cleaning stone and additionally a ceramic hob scraper on the wet door. But in order not to get scratches, the door must be really damp or wet, similar to the ceramic hob. To clean the oven with door, I often use a cup of water with a dash of dish soap, I put it on the bottom of the oven, turn it on to 100 degrees Celsius and then let it sit for half an hour. After that, most of it can be easily cleaned with a damp cloth, for heavier deposits the copper cloth with cleaning stone will help again. The cleaning stone is only called that, in fact it is a cleaning paste. Greetings from cologne Andy
Thanks for the tips! So great!
Hallo,Andy. Grüsse aus rheinhausen duisburg...was meinst du mit reinigungsstein?Alles Gute,Heike 🎉
So interesting to hear what other countries have available, especially from over here in North America!
Yes, dish soap and vinegar for cleaning the 🚽! That's how I conquered my fear for cleaning the bath room! 😄
I follow you for ao long time ! I rarely comment ( in fact, i haven't commented for years i guess) and i never miss any of your videos. I just wanted to say a hi!
Hi! 👋🏻👋🏻👋🏻
Loving the cloth tip 👌!! With my oven door I tend to wipe it with washing up liquid and warm water when the doors still a little warm , then wipe over with a dry cloth , I do this after every use . Always enjoy your videos!! Thanks Benita 💐🌷💐
For the oven door cleaner, I use a combination of either baking soda & water paste, or baking soda & water & salt, or baking soda then spray with a mix of water & vinegar - in all 3 cases I let it set for 10-20 minutes and wipe with a water/vinegar combination; repeat if necessary
Thank you! Must try these!🙌🏻
Me, too! If I can do it when the splatters occur and while the door is still warm, even better.
My method too, you beat me to it, Doveandolive.
I use the same.....it works wonders ....I must admit I haven't used my oven for a while now... being on my own.😢...but it a great way to clean....it's very therapeutic to listen to your voice and watching cleaning...one of my favorites things to do...clean and tidy home....make me feel better in my mind 😊
yay for the haircut!
Thanks, it was a much needed chop!
❤love you Benita, you really are an inspiration, Have been following you for a little while now, and have taken on board yourideas and tips, for a much more clutter free home,so good for the mind, and our home looks easier on the eye, When my children visit and see me getting rid of things, they chuckle , and say ahhh swedish death cleaning, i just say Benita lol, So thank you from England xx
Aww, thank you so much!
There's always a sense of satisfaction when cleaning!
So much satisfaction!
Not spring cleaning already! it's still February here! I'm still luxuriating in the slower "I'll get to it later" pace of winter. But enjoyed your content all the same.
It’s in February I see all the stains from October through January😬
Here in Australia we are approaching autumn, but I think any seasonal change bring with it an opportunity to do more of a deep clean. I must try there suggestions that have come through to clean my oven - always a chore! Thanks for another motivational video Benita. 🇦🇺😎
Happy if you found motivation by watching!
I think fall cleaning is just as important as spring cleaning. You're about to spend more time indoors, so a clean.and clutter-free indoor environment is about to become most important.
Oven door cleaning tip: use fine, dust like ashes from a wood burning fireplace. Scrub it with a wet sponge. Works well.
Don’t have a fireplace here but hopefully someone can give this one ago!
Greetings from the US. Love the sugar cube idea. Can't wait to try it!
Benita thanks for the great hacks! I’ve used a magic eraser on my oven door, works a treat.
I’ve recently learnt not to mix bicarb and vinegar. The vinegar stops the bicarb from removing odours, better to use bicarb and flush with boiling water x
Thanks for the intel!
The bridge!!! 😹😹😹 I had to pause the video to comment!
You, every single morning!🌉
I need to get my woolly duster out as I’ve been noticing cobwebs in the corners of my ceilings. Your cleaning videos are so satisfying and remind me I need to Spring clean too!
I have a long-handled one, recommended by a senior friend years ago. I love that I don't need the ladder to reach the ceiling.😊 It also works well for cleaning under furniture.
I do love me a good spring cleaning!
Such a cute cat, my dog rubs her nose on the end of the sofa after she's had her dinner 😂
Haha, that’s so cute!
Hi Benita: Great tips! I'll save this video for future reference. I am recovering from covid and just had energy to do my laundry and change my bed. I'll have to do a deep clean later using your tips. Thanks! Jenny
Covid is no fun! Wishing you speedy recovery!
@@BenitaLarsson Thank you Benita!
What a surprise, another video, Im so happy. I want to letvyou know, if Im going out for the day or a fewchours I put your videos on to play all thectime Im out. Your voice makesxmy cat sleep, I also noticed when Im homecand I do the same, she loves your voice annd the soft music playing in background. I love your soothing voice. Sophie can becan anxious cat, I found a solution . 😊😊
Aww, that’s the sweetest thing I’ve heard!🐈
Thank you for your video Benita, inspiring as always! I have sets of 2 microfibre cloths for use with glass (windows etc). No chemicsls needed, just wet the ribbed one with water, wipe over the window and dry with the other one. Sparkling windows!!!
I do that too for mirrors and smaller panes!
Natron and Vinegar put together are canceling each other out. So it is not needed to mix them. You can save product here. And many thanks for the motivation to do some stuff at my house
I just finished cleaning some burned on grease splatter on my glass oven door and a Magic Eraser worked perfectly with a little vinegar spray. I've never had it scratch the surface before. Great video!
Oooh, I’ll try that thank you!
I also use a Magic Eraser on the oven door... it's magic!
I use it too!
it works really well@@BenitaLarsson
Thank you, Benita!
Thanks so much for watching!
I use a paint scraper / oven scraper for the oven door. I’ve never had it scratch and it’s the only thing that removes all marks for me.
I'm so ready for Spring Benita. 😊
Thank you ❤x
I’m so ready too!!!
Love the simplicity x
Thank you so much!
Happy Tuesday Benita ♥️
Happy Tuesday to you too!

love cleaning videos. thanks Benita
So glad you enjoyed it!
I learn a lot with you. Thank you so much. It's always a pleasure to watch your videos ☺️
So glad you enjoy the videos!
To keep my oven tray clean, I just put a big-enough piece of aluminum foil on the tray and if anything spills on it, I just fold up the foil and toss it. I rarely use my oven, so I don't go through much foil.
I always use a baking sheet under my food but somehow there’s still baked on stuff 😬
You are Always Such an Inspiration !!!❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
So happy that you enjoy my videos!
So fresh and sparkly 🤩
Thanks so much for watching!
Thank you for the tips. Love your hair!!!!!❤❤❤

Ever so timely! Our geothermal conversion is complete, and now it's cleanup time! Great ideas! Great video! I bet you're getting so excited for Spring and a return to summerhouse projects!
I’m so very excited! It’s further up north so it’ll take longer for spring to arrive there but when it does I’m ready!
I use savon noir everywhere (black French soap from Marseilles), and it's wonderful. Biodegradable, pet safe, extremely effective. I use the white savon de marseilles in the kitchen as dish soap (solid), and I clean lots of things with that too, but the black soap is even more effective. You could use a scraper too, I don't have one, but I heard they don't scratch.
I have Marseille soap but not the black variety! Must look into that!
@@BenitaLarsson H! from Marseille! Black soap is not Marseille soap, but a mixture of olive potash and vegetable oils such as linseed oil, whereas Marseille soap contains soda and oils. It originated in the Maghreb countries and has so many uses.
Pure plant extracts, biodegradable and phosphate-free, they don't pollute rivers and contribute to respecting the environment if, and only if, made according to the original recipes. Unfortunately, both are copied and modified. Only 4 "savonneries" remain in Marseille.Hope it helps !
I definitely need to give my white kitchen cabinets and the ones in the laundry room a good clean. The part i least like is cleaning the windows 😔🪟. We have big ones and it's so frustrating, but I always like the results in the end 😂
The feeling when the windows are clean🙌🏻
Wow, that's a definitive guide to cleaning, Benita! Will be referring to this video again!
Yay, so happy if you find it useful!
I usually put 2 sliced oranges in a baking tray and dry them at 80 degrees for a few hours or overnight. This removes the greasy dirt from the inside and door of the oven. It must be wiped clean with a damp cloth. The good smell is guaranteed and the dried orange ring is also good for decoration. Of course, it also works with lemons and tangerines.
Ooh, I love this tip!🍊
First time I saw some dust way up there 😂 you are an inspiration! ❤
Aww, you’re so sweet, thank you!
For scrubbing your oven pans: after soaking them, scrub with kosher salt and half a lemon. For oven doors, use the steamer like you did. I love steamers!
The steamer did nothing on the door though😅
Really enjoy your informative & relaxing videos Benita - so satisfying!!! Lots of cool tricks, some I use & others are new..until the next one. Oh BTW your hair looks fantastic, very chic!!!
Glad you enjoyed it! Thank you!
Benita, the tip I loved the most was to fold my cleaning cloths so more clean surface is available❤! I've always been a cloth "wadder"!LOL
That trick is quite a game changer!
You can add a fold to make a triangle and have 16 surfaces to clean with 😉
Hello Benita 🌼 Just what I needed to see this morning. Your videos are always inspiring and informative.
Now, onto some cleaning today ❇
So happy that you’re enjoying my videos!
That is so much great content again, Benita! Thanks a million - I've hardly ever seen such hands-on and helpful videos. And I really need to deep clean, I guess. ;)
Glad you enjoyed it!
Great to see you good morning! Thank you always for the great information! I soak and scrub my Fan Filter I don't have a dishwasher unless we count me!
Good morning! It's is evening over here!😁
I use the glass scraper for my cooktop on the ovendoor. As long as you use soap water on the glass when you use the scraper it does not scratch. You can also use a razorblade
Great ideas! And lots of good ones in the comments. Not sure if it was mentioned but chainmail scrubbers are great for cleaning pans. Might be easier on the hands then the sugar cubes.
I was wowed by your shower drain catch. I've never seen anything like that before. I routinely hire a plumber to clear my bathroom drains annually. The catchment drain in your shower makes SO much sense.
It’s a standard thing over here luckily!
For scuff marks on the wall or floor, often a simple white rubber eraser (the stationery for use with pencils) will work 💁🏻♀️✏
I do grab an eraser sometimes but find that they often leave a mark rather than remove one😬
I enjoy watching your videos. My tip for oven door is using the steamer with one of the brush atachements. Usually I put a little bit of dish soap and then use the steamer. So you don't need harsh chemichals, steam does most of the trick 🫠
Thanks for the tips! Will borrow it again and try a brush!
Glass oven door. Use a few drops of washing liquid and then decorators blade in plastic holder. Scrape over in seconds and wipe. It will not damage glass and looks like new.
Thanks, I have one of those blades but have ended up scratching glass with them so I'm a bit hesitant 😬 Perhaps, I didn't get the surface wet enough with dish soap 🤔
This works a treat! The dishsoap makes a paste and collects the greasy blobs.
Hallo Benita, ich habe mich in deinen Teppich verliebt, und jetzt habe ich so einen gekauft! Bin glücklich! Danke für die Tipps, viele Grüße aus Deutschland! 😊
I love my rugs so yay!
Moi aussi j'ai commencé le nettoyage de printemps, merci Benita 🌟
I’m just hoping we don’t get much more snow. So ready for spring!
@@BenitaLarsson I am feeling the same here in southwestern Ontario 🇨🇦
Thanks Benita, good tips and good motivation. Spring is just around the corner.
Yes, that’s my mantra!🌿
Hello from Canada! :) I'm not sure if anyone's shared this tip yet but for the oil stains on the oven glass: make a paste with dish soap and baking soda. It's amazing at removing anything like that (stains on casserole dishes,...). I hope the scrubbing doesn't irritate your wrist though! xo
Cleaning oven glass. Best trick I’ve found game changer !!! when th oven is still hot after use put back baked on oven tray, pour water & dish soap in. Shut door & leave to soak while eating yr meal or a little longer. Water condenses on oven door and u can easily wipe away grease & dirt. Also this will help remove baked on potatoes or whatever on oven tray. Pls try it !! Wish id known this yrs ago xx
Love the video - Eucalyptus Oil works wonders on old oil stains and also Bon ami or bar keepers friend
Ooh, I think I might have some of that oil!
Try using the pink stuff paste for the oven. ❤
I actually got some for Wille’s place since he wanted to try it but I didn’t want to use it on glass. Had a bad experience with a scratched oven door 😬
I enjoy seeing others clean, Benita 😜 Dyson all the way. It's my second too, the V12 Ultimate. Splendid machine. Mine broke after Christmas, I had the flu and bought a new one at the end January. Tried with my little upstairs vacuum on wheels. Goodness, so happy my new Dyson came in. Cat hair removal is the only good way with a Dyson. Plus, my cats are not scared of it. Which is a big plus.
Bonus doesn’t enjoy ANY vacuum cleaners 😆
Neither do mine but I don't have to pluck them out of the curtains 🤣@@BenitaLarsson
My recommodation for cleaning oven shelfs and door is a copper sponge.
Thank you so much for the tip!
För ugnsluckan - använd pink stuff paste! Bästa jag provat! Även på galler och plåtar 🤩
Ah, köpte sån till Wille som ville prova efter ha sett på TikTok men jag testade inte själv.
I just wanted to thank you for this video! I did some research after watching this about the vacuum model you have and ended up buying it because of you! It's so light and the on off button is such a nice treat! My old vacuum was very heavy and hard to hold over my head so I neglected anything up high, now I can comfortably clean everywhere! Thank you again!!
So happy if it was useful!
I also use one of those sticky lint rollers for my lamp shades and am shocked at how much dust it picks up 👍🏼
I know, right?😅
The pink stuff works every time :)
Thanks for the tip!
Great video, thank you and I love your apartment.
I use a steam mop for my hard floors,it’s fantastic.
For the oven, you could try rubbing it with a dishwasher tablet, that’s supposed to be good but I haven’t tried it yet.I usually give it a quick wipe with washing up liquid after each use.
Several mentioned the dish washer tablet and I’m definitely trying that!
Greetings from Poland. We have now 17 degrees on this weekend. Its never happened before. Real spring!
Oh wow, lucky you!
In Australia we have a natural product called Koh, it is a brilliant cleaning product. Cleans oven doors and also can remove nearly any stain from bench tops it's an amazing product.
Never heard of it here, lucky you!
I use it too. It is an enzyme cleaner developed at Uni NSW. Great on pet stains and grease in kitchen. I love your cleaning videos. They make the mundane stylish.
An alternative to using magic erasers is to use a little bicarbonate (baking soda to me😊) on a damp rag and rub gently as you would with a magic eraser. Give it a try and see if it works for you.
Thanks for the tip!
Dear Benita! Great video again! Very useful hacks😌I also clean with microfiber cloths and I really like them🤗😌also I have a V12 Dyson and I also highly recommend this vacuum cleaner, especially when you have a lot of steps in your home🙃😅and it really cleans very well!😃so, I wish you a really good week in Stockholm and that spring will show it’s nicest face🥰😆cheers from Iris from southwest Germany😍
Thank you! Yes, the lower weight of the V12 is so nice!
@@BenitaLarsson exactly!😃🤗
your weather is very similar to ours and thanks for the great cleaning tips. I use a flat razor blade to clean my oven glass window, works like a charm but check with an expert first.
I used to use a razor but scratched something which is why I'd rather try something else 😅
Love your haircut. Suits you wonderfully! Have you tried the steam shot on the oven door followed by a bicarbonate paste, left on a bit, then scrub. Sometimes a magic eraser works well too.
I did use the steam shot like I showed in the video but not with bicarbonate after.
This video was so satisfying to watch and I now feel motivated to do my own spring clean. I just use one of those wire wool scrubbies to clean my glass oven door and even the enamelled insides and have not had issue with it scratching but I would not use it on and metal trim. Just maybe try on a small bit incase your oven is different . Oh and If you chop up your magic eraser into small blocks it lasts much longer😊. I've been using the same one for over 2 years as each small block will last me months as I use it as a last resort like you.
Thanks for the tips!
Thank you dear Benita
for this very useful video. I am always very happy for your good help.
And one more thing, your new hairstyle suits you very well 🤩
Greetings from Germany 😘
So happy you found it useful!
