But I learn from your first Band-Maid video-reaction that the only Japanese rock "band" you know is BabyMetal, that's sad... because BabyMetal is not a band, indeed they are an "idol group" backed by some of the best rock musicians in Japan.

Thank you for letting me know about other Japanese bands. I will be checking them out. It is sad that the only group that I know is BabyMetal. I will be branching out for sure. I used to live in Japan for two years when I was in the military so you would think that I would know a lot more then what I do. I will be doing some videos on what you have suggested.

I think I can say for sure that they saved the lives of quite a few old rockers who were alone during that time. They propped each other up too because they were used to being in each other's company constantly.

One of the things that make Band Maid special is their complete lack of ego. Their attitude has always been humble servers of their music. In fact, they call their live shows “okiyujis,” which means “servings” in Japanese.
The songs you’ve heard so far are actually fairly similar. I would love to see you hear some of their more courageous music. If you aren’t scared 😱 😂

Great reaction to one of the classic Rock performances of all time. 🤘🤘DOMINATION live was the 22nd song of their 23 song set at this gig and begins with a segue that is the dying away of the last note of the previous song PLAY. At 3:00 - MISA, the bassist, Kanami the lead guitarist and composer, and Miku the rhythm guitarist and founder of the band, are playing Hengao - "strange faces" - with Akane the drummer, which is making funny faces to try and put someone off. Akane, of course, laughs along while not missing a beat. It shows the ladies' confidence in each others' abilities that they can fool around like this while all of them slam out note-perfect Rock at full tilt. At 4:03 - MISA the bassist is holding her plectrum in her curled finger so she can produce it and switch from slapping to picking in half a nanosecond! At 4:40 - Akane the drummer hitting two separate beats on her double kick pedals while simultaneously continuing the song melody on her snare, toms and cymbal. At 5:43 - a brief glimpse of Kanami laying down one sweet rolling chord pattern - pure class. THE best live Rock band on Earth. And beyond.
"Shambles" music video next. Its the closing music for the show Kengen Ashura on Netflix. Interesting story: Last fall they appeared on a TV show in Japan put on by NHK. All of the other acts were to lip sync but Band Maid told the producers that, if they didn't perform live, they wouldn't perform. Up until recently NHK had this performance on their channel, but it was removed, which is odd (probably by Netflix). It's the only pro shot live recording of Shambles that has been on CZcams. Initially someone else had posted it and several comments, presumably from Band Maid's crew had commented and you could see how proud they were that Miku and friends never wavered in their principles to be on the show. They were the only live performers that night.
What happened to you is the same thing that happened to me in Dec. 2021. I grew up in the 60s with rock. Bought 1000s of albums over more than 20 years of loving rock music but fell out of that love as I grew older and only listened to a few old favorites.
Band-Maid came up in my YT sidebar, with the song "Play" live version. Then watched the live "Choose Me." They have ignited my love of rock again. Not being a reactor I watched everything I could find and then went and bought all their albums/singles/concerts. Their music makes me so happy listening/watching it. Enjoy your ride.
Later on you'll be screaming "take my money already"! lol, It's two years now for me! They're my all-time favorite band already.
Mine too & i've seen a lot of great bands live. Nothing comes close to BAND-MAID now tho :)

I listen to more and just am blown away constantly by how f’ing great all of it is. There is so many songs that I forget some exist after a while and am confused as to why I forgot about that awesome song when I do hear it again.
I think you’d dig Shambles and Warning. No drum solos but she’s going ballistic the whole time.

I didn't know how to react at first. Then it all set in
I’m only guessing why Band Maid hooked me. I’ve been listening to rock for decades and I’ve listened to all kinds of rock. Band Maid isn’t doing anything new but they make all the genres of rock sound fresh somehow. Something else that attracts me is their story and how this is an organic band and not put together by execs.
What is it? Everything. The talent. The smiles. The love for the fans. The catchy hooks. The sharing of the stage. No egos in this band. The music!! They seem to love and respect eachother in every way.
As you can probably tell it's always best to react to the live version. But there are still a few OMV that are awesome because of the video production. Like Shambles,Warning & Influencer.

There's a ton of music to get to, of course. As you watch more from them, you might start to get interested in the people behind the music. If so, there are a ton of great behind-the-scenes videos, off-stage videos, and video interviews with the band. There are even fan-made documentaries. All of this assumes you really are falling in love with this band, of course. No offense, I've just seen hundreds of other reactors say how much they like the band, then the reactor never mentions them again. Which is pretty funny.

Band-Maid will creep under your skin then slowly into your very soul. No skin, no tattoos, no piercings, no politics, no foul language and no bad attitudes, just pure Hard Rock at its finest. They don't block so don't be scared to enlarge your video screen. BTW- the hole you refer to is a "Pigeon Hole".....you'll find out why eventually.......enjoy your ride.

When they gather around the drum kit, they're doing a Japanese thing where they make funny faces to try and make Akane mess up. She always wins.
It's called "Hengao" and I think it is just one of the things that makes the Ladies stand out. That they are so comfortable with each other's talents and skills that they are willing to risk a mistake in a Okyuji.

I'm kind of jealous of reactors just starting their Band Maid journey. I'm living vicariously through them since I've already been down that road. And just to watch new Madiacs being born gives me a Thrill.

Band Maid have a way of dominating your musical listening. Add in the stage presence and visuals and you have everything a K-Pop band wants to be but fails.
'Onset' and 'From Now On' if you want to hear some incredible instrumental glory.
Band-Maid has so many amazing songs, it's almost overwhelming. There simply not enough time to enjoy all the servings they have to offer on the menu. It's like trying to "catch a deluge in a paper cup." Bonus points if you know what song that line is from. Cheers!

My recommendation for your next reaction would be Don't You Tell Me official live video. For more variety in their music I recommend their latest song Bestie or maybe the song From Now On. You may want to go back and see where it all started for them with the music video of Thrill about 10 years ago.
