LoL..just jumped on the freeway! Hahaha.
I have my onyx and I’m still watching these videos like when I was waiting on it to get here haha. Such an amazing bike. Literally every time I take off from a red light or a stop sign, even on normal mode, the torque and acceleration brings a smile to my face. Always. Beautiful machine. The break squeak is a little annoying and the fob is a little cheap and plastic-y (and a little weird to use at first). Biggest complaint is the break squeak. But that’s such a minor con, I don’t hold it against the bike at all. Also my front break fluid level was astonishingly low when I got it off the shipping truck. Idk if it was just an unnoticed deficiency or what. But I was shocked that it was so low (like maybe a millimeter or two of visible break fluid in the sight glass). All in all, highly highly recommend. Worth the price.
Oh and blinkers! A bike this small really should come stock with blinkers. You, individually, can easily install them. But I do think it’s pretty dangerous riding it in traffic without blinkers. A mirror would be next on the recommended list, but it’s not hard to turn and look, and usually when you’re riding you have pretty good situational awareness. I think this bike embodies loophole culture, and should be ridden as such. Sidewalks, steet, alleys, etc. no one really cares (from my experience, in my small 50k population city) where you are or what you’re doing because it’s such an interesting machine. I do believe I’m the only one in my city with a high powered ebike, so people are more curious than they are salty because you exercise loophole culture. Which is nice!
Oh, absolute last thing! The kickstand!!! Omg. I change my mind, this is the most frustrating thing. It stands the bike up like abnormally straight. So a slight dip in pavement or a strong gust of wind AND THE BIKE WILL TIP OVER. I hoping over time the weight of the bike will slowly start to build pressure on the kickstand resulting in a more stable prop up. BUT HOLY FUCK. I couldn’t even park it when I took it to work the first day. The pavement was too uneven. I had to go find a different spot. So please please please BE CAREFUL with that. ALWAYS keep it in mind. You have to crank the wheel and make sure is stable before letting go after you prop the kickstand. I havent dropped the bike yet, but there has been so many close calls where it’s no longer my fault. It’s definitely just a poor kickstand. But again, just make sure your bike is stable before letting go and you shouldn’t have any issues. It’s just one of those things that always needs to float in your mind or YOU WILL drop the bike.
Your videos on this bike alone have sold me ♡ Thank you dawg! You put it through all of the tests that I’d want to see.
taking delivery of my RCR in about two weeks - living for these videos of yours. I live on mount washington, can't wait for these sunrise rides
I like how you actually stopped and made sure that no violence was taking place. Good man!
Damn love how you just jumped on the highway and pretty much stayed at highway speed. Lol
I agree that direct drive+manual clutch would be best. It would let you coast, brake or regenerate.
Congrats on 2K!!!!!!
Crazy to see what the pandemic has caused in terms of zero traffic in LA😂😂
It's 7am he said; so before rush hour.
@@nxdboi even still to see it empty like this is weird lol. there’s a reason I moved out of La.
@@yessir1913 Oh no, for sure. I moved out of LA proper several years ago as well. Every time I go back, to visit family or what have you, the traffic and speed limits drive me nuts lol.
Bruh You’re becoming one of my favorite CZcamsrs haha
You about to blow up my dude. Great content.
keep up the good videos, love them!
Yes! Another video! And now I'm surprised that you rode the onyx on the freeway. I dont even know anymore lol
Love your videos! Def getting myself one of these. Keep it up
M3NACE use my promo code
Haha congrats on your Birthday Onyx!!!
After long hours. Good to see you
I've never thought about owning an eBike until I've started subscribing to your channel. You really make them look cool and fun to have. But... I need to get the Onyx RCR just for the speed alone.
Same
Sammeeee

Go with Huck Cycles...it puts Onyx to shame! Thank me later!
I like how you did a comparison of both bikes on this video.
I came directly to this video after watching the latest tailhappyTV review of the Romeo eBike review. It's a dual motor eBike, and I wanted to see how the RCR compared. I personally have a cty2, and was surprised to learn that it was pushing 9,000w today Thanks for the video.
Are you using knobbie tires or the regular standard ones the Onyx RCR comes with? See you are riding offroad a lot so just curious if its with knobbie tires or not.
Btw do you have a M1 license? I'd be curious to how these handle corner wise compared to a motorcycle, or if they feel more 'bycicles like' in terms of handeling.
My boy is back !!!! The longest 24 hours with no video .. 🤣🤣🤣
Looks amazing! I'm going to wait until they double up on the battery though on a 2nd version and lower the price on this version. I need that range!
That's happening soon
agreed, ive been driving it around and their range is reallistically 40-50 mi max on normal mode.
Yo bro does the DRT kit does good
in roads?. Because Iam looking to use it more on roads but I might go off roading sometimes. So what do you think is the best option for me?
Just bought my S2 a couple days ago. I used your friend code. Thank you.
I enjoyed watching the ONYX videos. Sweet ride for sure but I think im more of a super 73 / actual E bike kind of a guy. I like the idea of cruising and light off road while drinking a beer and shit like that. Say hi to everyone T.O. Thousand Oaks for me. Miss that place. Cheers dude. PS I hope you get the V3 hub first and abuse the shit out of it and it doesn't break.
Yeah, the speed on the onyx is super dope for speed but the 73 just looks cooler. I’m sticking with my S2 🤘
Dude! I just got mine last week and these are the spots I’ve been riding ... so random!!! I went over to Baxter but didn’t go up it cuz it’s one way But yeah I cruise through Elysian Park too .. And Griffith Park is cool going all the way up to the observatory and looping around
Wee wee …… wee. Thanks for taking us along.
From all the vids ive seen about the super 73 and the rcr. It sounds like the rcr is super quiet while the super 73 motor makes a considerably louder noise. Please give me your thoughts on this matter. Thanks
What ever happened with those open box Sur Rons? I keep seeing them pop up on Craigslist...
How bad is the suspension on the RCR? I can definitely hear it in your videos - would you say the 73 is an overall smoother ride? I feel like I would mainly stay on the streets with the RCR..
R73 is a smoother ride but that noise is mostly the battery not being properly secured. My fault not the bikes
Hey man I just wanted to Thankyou for your honest reviews on both the onyx and the super73. You helped me decide which one to go with. And although the onyx is twice the price, like you said “I just want a reliable bike man” 😎👍🏼 keep it up brother man
so which one you’re buying
Kaviraj Deshmukh onyx rcr
So what do you think about the Onyx bike all the way around?
There is no way they are worth $4K! The Chinese will build one as good for $1.5K.
So is it impossible to get it registered for being a moped ?🏍
I wanna see if you can do those hills on the R
For your money, if you were going to buy the RCR or the HyperScorpion, which would you get? Is the extra > $1000 worth it for the RCR?
How do you get NO wind noise on your camera footage?
What happens when you're in front of an 18-wheeler and your battery goes dead? Do you get smashed like a bug?
What trail are you on around 6:30-9:00? Looks amazing
Have you or someone you know ever tried riding one through a drive thru? Would it even trigger the sensor?
I’ve gone to many with the R73
Go through that again about registering as a moped and not register until u get caught ..? in SoCal
great video!
I wish people would stop comparing the super 73 and ONYX.
I wish people did more vs. on the ONYX and the Monday bikes
Monday videos coming soon
Those guys at @17:50 were definitely GTA NPCs
Been watching your videos for a couple weeks now, enjoy your content, love what you do! I'm not trying to be rude or start anything up by saying this. I might be wrong and this is purely speculation, but seems like you gave your R a bit more of a beat down than the RCR? S73 definitely has some issues they need to tweak, but I feel like with any ebike, hitting down a flight of stairs, hitting some jumps or being chucked into a trash bin will mess with a thing or two on the bike? Obviously a rental is something you gotta be careful with and I get that. Hoping you can at least get the v2 motor for the meantime and keep your videos coming! Appreciate you taking the time to make these.
I took the RCR off dirt jumps and landed on flat at the Fullerton Loop lol. Parker clears a set of stairs and lands on a set of stairs
Parker has definitely put his bike through tough siht, I feel like his bike can't be the v1 motor because that thing is invincible. I saw that vid, RCR def didn't sound right on the landing lol Truthfully I just think these two bikes aren't at that level for off roading. Seems like everyone I see taking them off roading, happen to end up with a broken bike. Kudos to you for being brave enough to test these bikes out, I feel like I'd be so worried for anything to happen, I rather just be a pavement princess lmao
Do you use a license plate when you're on the streets or highway 🛣
How you do not get pulled over.....AWESOME, I need some of this!!
What would the cop do it’s not a motorcycle 🤣
@@bigballs9769 They would probably be very confused....
More trails across the street from Elysian 🤘
How much milage did you get on this?
Bro, I would so buy one of those if they were 4k canadian. if I got one it would be over 6k for me
Too bad you have to give the onyx back 😢
Seriously, the only thing holding me back from purchasing one of these is that it weighs 145 pounds! I’m looking for a bike that’s 90 pounds or less for so many good reasons. Having a bike that weighs that much is not convenient in the long run Albeit still weighs less than a gas powered motor scooter.
Can't wait till you get your hands on a Suron, that's what I've been looking at, that or a Cake perhaps.
Cakes are really expensive
@@loopholeculture the new Ink and Osa aren't bad, especially when looking at e-mountian bikes, those things START at 5 grand..for a bycicle..
That's when you really realize how garbage cars have been for so long, helloo 2 grand civic lol
Looks like the RCR is pretty powerful. What is it like against your 73? Does your 73 have the same speed and power?
super73 isnt even close
Have you ever thought of doing your vlog on a 40 mile an hour mantis e-scooter
Just pullin on that hill. No problem 😎
i wish i could get one in canada
They really should address the break squeak
Freeway cruising huh 🤣🤣
Does anyone know if you need to register this bike and get plates for it in California?
You don’t have to yet
So much loophole this episode. :)
A year and a half late, but I am here now.
These bikes are in a grey area of bike/motorcycle. I was followed by a cop riding but I was doing about 20 mph and pedaling in a bike lane. Never been pulled over or questioned but the cops are definitely watching me when I ride here in Mckinney Texas. I would definitely be pulled over here in Texas for riding like you do there in California.
whoa, you live in McKinney, TX? do you still have your RCR? have you gotten hassled by cops yet?
I live in McKinney also and just ordered a CTY2. Hopefully I can ride it around without much trouble :/
I didn’t think it was fast enough or even allowed to be on the freeway ?
Personally, I think the steepest hill is Micheltorena, it's 6 blocks from where Sunset and Santa Monica Blvd. meet.
If I hadn’t wrecked my car I’d be saving up for an Onyx. Still have a crazy need for speed, comes from years of riding big motorcycles.
Hey there do you think i sound get a super 73 rs our a r ?
What’s a RS?
Damn freeway lol.
I got an Super73 R instead of an Onyx RCR because it is as much of a motorbike as you can get away with while still calling it a bike. I like the go-anywhere electric lifestyle.
How long did y’alls take to get to you ? Ordered the 5th of may
How's the Onyx treating ya?
How's the onyx?
@@TheDutchMasterStacker awesome man! This is my second one and this time it didn’t come assembled. Total pain in the ass but works pretty well
I thought u can keep it forever, why you have to return it the bike !.
How long does it need to charge the battery 🔋? Onyx ?
ONYX now offers a new 10A charger that does it in just a couple hours.
Hey man, I don't think many people are talking about 18:00. But you get an internet fist bump from me for that. Good looking out for other people.
I want one of these so bad. I’m going to try and make that happen as much as possible.
Any update?
It does better than my grom, on baxter and on the freeway lol.
Are the shocks as bad as they sound or is that just a feeling I get cause there's no engine sound.
Shocks are great, I was using their shop bike not a brand new one
The sound is an unsecured battery, not the shocks. There is a strap that holds the battery that needs to be tightened and cinched down more to eliminate the rattle.
So do u not have ur r series?!
It’s in storage waiting for a new hub
Dillon Thomson can u do a comparison video on ur honest opinion on r series vs. onyx rcr
Peter Han I did that in this video
Man this looks dangerous.
do you need to get new brakes cuz it keeps squealing
Squealing doesn’t mean you need new brakes it means your brakes aren’t hot enough yet for optimal performance
@@loopholeculture oh I see thanks for the comment
You find the best places to ride. Lets link up and roll. I probably can't keep up though. Haha
I’m bikeless at the moment my dude
Could you do a review on the Monday motorbike
Stick around it’s coming
Thanks I just ordered both the onyx and the Monday for me and my daughter
Baller shot caller
🤣🤣🤣 I JUST WORK AND SAVE MY MONEY 💰
@@jamiljeter4960 please order one for me. Eye will pay you $3,500 today! lol (loling but in secret really serious)👳🏽♂️🕶️😅🤔😂🤔🥺😇😇
60mph...just blows me away that thing can do that. Meanwhile, I'm plotting for 40mph out of my Z as I'm an idiot. At least it'll still fly under the radar.
What gloves are those?
amzn.to/2RKrcE6
What’s the next test subject? Check out Dualtron if you want an adrenaline rush!
Monday Gen7
Hope you can squeeze in one last vid before you return the bike!
3 more then I got a Monday Gen7
Wait !!!! You have return it rcr. I thought everyone keep it for forever !.
what?
what's the point of pedals on that thing...i've never seen anyone use them
Pedals are the only thing standing between you talking your way out of a ticket or not if riding this unregistered and without tags. The pedals on the Onyx do not engage the motor. In a pinch, on flat level and with no juice, you could pedal this beast to get it somewhere slowly.
I say we all go on an internet strike an see how fast they drop prices
I been working for this bike and they better not raise the price again
Did you happen to get the bike?
Test the Monday motorbike next
Stick around, it’s coming
Dang! You took part of the 5. LOL
A "Moped" is limited to 30mph and certain # of horse power to qualify. I think the ONYX RCR would have to registered as a motorcycle/scooter due to its speed and power.
Team onyx!!!
Hey there my name is shaine I was wondering if I get the rcr do I need a license
U need side mirrors dude
I heard a rumor saying that klarna pays for the first three months of anything you buy and the onyx is on klarna so I'm not sure
i ordered my onyx rcr using klarna but I'm not sure that they pay off the first 3 months if you mean the shipping on the bike then yes that is correct I haven't gotten any bills from them.
@@entrou5383 ok yeah the shipping thanks
Dill, why no comments on the squeaky breaks and rattling parts?
It’s a shop bike that ONYX loaded me. That type of thing is easily fixed with minor maintenance
Dillon Thomson thanks for the reply 🤙🏻
My guy over here on the highway with a “e bike” going 60 mph haha. Won’t be long til the put the kibosh on these bikes and ban them
they won't ban them - just make them register, pay tax and get insurance
