You have given me some great ideas for my bases going forward. You did a great job getting it to tie in with the rest of your collection. I have a question, though. I have noticed while I try new things and my painting improves, my newer models look a bit different to my older ones. Should I go back and try to improve my older ones, or I just accept that like in real life, no two things are ever exactly the same? Thanks for sharing.

Thanks, I really appreciate that. You could of course go back and touch up older minis if it something you’re compelled to do, but personally I don’t. I’m happy to see the progression I’ve made over time and unless it’s for a competition, it’s just not something I worry about. I’d much prefer to move forward and paint a new mini, rather than spend time going back and touching up an old one.

Great video! One suggestion: change the setup of camera and screen where you read the script from, it is clearly visible that you are not looking into the camera, breaking the connection. Put the two closer together and further from yourself?

Thanks! Funny thing is I wasn’t reading a script for this one, I was just looking at the fold out screen rather than the lens (like an idiot). But it had taken an age to get a clip I was happy enough with that I chose to stick with it. 😂

Fantastic as always! I'd be curious to see how long it takes you for the effects if that's possible? While obviously taking the time on important or competition minis is worth it I struggle to figure out how long I should dedicate to my troop bases while still keeping them consistent with the character bases I've spent ages on

Thanks! Great question. The answer for me personally is simple but probably not very satisfying. I work on a base until I’m happy ‘enough’ with it for the purpose I have in mind. I don’t try to get things perfect, but don’t link to walk away from something until I’m happy enough with it.
I’ve you’re looking for ways to speed up base painting, I would recommend doing a few test bases, before doing them in bulk. Painting 20 infantry bases in one batch is a lot more efficient than going one by one.

What tree bark did u use on the base

Just some dried bark from the hobby store. Not sure on the actual tree variety.
