  • If you watch any pro-level Assetto Corsa Competizione racer, you may see them tweaking the engine map settings. You may also see that not all engine maps are made equal, with each car having a different number of map options and effects. Fret no more, as we’re here with our ultimate guide to ACC engine mapping, explaining how to get the best out of the modes.

    I find it very frustrating that a lot of this stuff isnt explained in the game, not even a basic explanation. They really should give us proper explanations of the features. I mean if we were real race car drivers we would have engineers that explain everything to us in great detail. Nothing would be left to chance or for us to just work out by trial and error.

    When you're talking about 'the slowest', what amount of time are you generally leaving behind? I currently drive the AMG and Nissan GTR mostly.

    • @TraxionGG
      @TraxionGG  Před 2 lety +4

      Hello! It’s generally not huge, depending on which map/car it can be anything from a few tenths through to a full second. Sometimes, ‘slower’ maps won’t actually give you slower laptimes, it can allow you to get on the power earlier in some scenarios or just give you a more stable platform out of corners.
      The slowest ‘race’ maps tend to be quite a long way off, because they are designed for emergency situations where you need to lower your fuel consumption and make it without a pitstop.
      The safety car specific maps are miles off, if you watch the bit at 1:51, you can see just how slow those maps are off the line😅
      Hopefully you found the guide useful, all the best!

      @TraxionGG  Před 2 lety +2

      Ohh, I should also add my thoughts on the two cars you mentioned. I haven’t really played around with the GTR personally to give you an answer on that one, but I can tell you that map 2 on the AMG really isn’t too bad, and it saves a lot of fuel, allowing you to start with less and therefore save weight!
      Best way to test them for yourself is jump in hotlap mode and set times on each of the maps once you are up to speed 😊

    • @TraxionGG
      @TraxionGG  Před 2 lety +3

      You are very welcome! That sounds strange, I didn’t think there was a difference on console. Was it the Porsche you were looking at by any chance? The Porsche has Quali maps from 5-8 so is the only car I would expect to have map 8 as the default aggressive map on any circuit. I haven’t checked through all of the cars default setups for every circuit so I might be wrong, but I’d be surprised!

    • @xILoveFishyx
      @xILoveFishyx Před rokem

      it's been 7 months and I hope you already understand it but just incase you don't.
      Aggressive-Lots of power delivery to begin with and it slowly gets calmer power delivery at the top end.
      Linear-Straight cut power delivery bottom to top.
      Progressive-Less power delivery to begin with and more at the top end.
      In conclusion all the same power levels just Agressive is more acceleration with more tyre usage and Progressive is less acceleration to save tyres while linear is in the middle.
