What made it so good? It wasn't made of corporate greed. It was released completely finished from the start. You didn't have to wait a year for them to fully finish and patch out all the stuff. There wasn't any microtransactions what you saw was what you got. You could play it on your own. You don't need to have friends cuz AI are a thing...

The other issue is that you don’t get cross era matches on different planets, they want to be “screen accurate” while not following those same rules in the assault mode on the new battlefront. Just let it be a fun sandbox where people can have different eras on different planets and add galactic conquest with the appropriate support and heroes of those eras.
It’s crazy to think a game that wasn’t truly all the way finished was STILL great in it’s released product and STILL holds up almost 20 years later say what you want about nostalgia but SWBF2 2005 is a game you can give to a 8 year old kid who grew up on the new Battlefront and enjoy twice as much more (but seriously though IMAGINE IF IT WAS COMPLETED BEFORE LAUNCH😳)
I always wished they the wookie had a punch attack. It was always a letdown that the wampas on hoth could send wookies flying, but the wookies warrior was unable to hit back. Even if it was a less damange attack.

I loved destroying ships. Going into space fron ground, joining a dogfight, rushing through enemies, not messing up a landing, fighting through the enemy guards on the ship and then running out felt like i was a main character in an action movie
Because games didnt have updates, they had to be perfect with no issues and have a full experience. Now you get a taste of it upon release and the game feels half complete

Galactic conquest was great. Another Live service game on PC called Planetside 2 has the same concept but the servers can fit 400 players in one match with games lasting 5 hours or until points are depleted, Vehicle gameplay is heavy
This is why my GOG account has 800 hours on BF2 while in collage. I can still remember being called out by that business management capstone professor.
What sucks is dice daid they had tons kf plans for 2017 battlefront 2 but ea shut them down. I think if it still got content updates it could possibly overtake the classics but ig well never know

Here's the major problem with modern Battlefront. It's not enough like Battlefield. DICE probably wanted it to feel different than their own series when they got their hands on it.
the sarlacc pit was only in 1, stbf2 only had the 1 tatooine map mos eisley and there is no sarlacc pit on it, you can even see in the video the difference between the HUD on the sarlacc clip
And lets not forget about jedi knight academy! That game to this day has the best lightsaber dueling out of any game. The new battlefronts lightsaber battles are lack luster and rely heavily on bright colours and flashing lights to distract you from how little effort they put in. The new battlefronts are a great example of minimal effort will still pay the bills.
Why would you want that? EA/DICE have clearly forgotten how to make good shooters, any future battlefront games should be passed to another publisher and EA shouldn’t be allowed anywhere near it

There was no 64 player multi-player in the original Battlefronts, that was added in with the classic collection. I'm guessing these shorts are just quick sub grabs by playing on people's nostalgia and pretending you knew anything about the OG games.

Most Maps were small and empty and only felt bigger cause characters were slow . The cool things were the unique troops/species to maps tho that I can be honest with . But when you compare this to ea bf2 you can’t deny that ea bf2 is better in every way

The maps are basic, all Jedi are basically the same with a different skin, the gameplay is clunky. Yes at the time it was incredible, still one of my favourites games but it is in now way more immersive than the current one
