I get goosebumps every time I listen to Austin sing this song! Every time!
Musical theatre was his degree and his experience before joining Home Free, I love to hear him use it, What a voice.
I still have always thought Austin would make a wonderful Jesus (remember Ted Neely or am I that old 😊🥹) in Jesus Christ Superstar.

@@danivansuperstar Oooohhh! That's a great idea. I was barely into my teens when that came out and bought the movie and the soundtrack in many forms (except maybe vinyl; I don't remember having the LP). I was so into it that it was hard to not hear Ted Neeley and Carl Anderson (Judas) in my head when watching the 2001 stage version with Glenn Carter & Jerome Pradon or the 2013 Live Arena Tour with Ben Forster & Tim Minchin. I would love to see Austin in that role. Darn. Now I want to do my usual quadruple bill -- those 3 in order followed by Godspell. 7 hours of musical heaven.
We Home Fries will miss Austin , but he needs to make himself happy ... you can see how very talented he is ! #HOMEFREE!

That was a very beautiful rendition. This is from the musical Les Miserables. "Bring Him Home" is a very hard song to sing but Austin nailed it. He has a great voice for musical theatre songs.

Austin's talents are exceptional.
One of my favourite songs of Austin solo. Austin shows so much here. All these feelings all this sadness in this song just shines through Austins voice. His technique is flawless and yet still so
much soul in it. My tears always start rolling when I hear it. And then the end ...the range. ...so stunning Austin really has a masterpiece here.

Excellent reaction! Those of us who have been watching and supporting Home Free for a LONG time, now, have heard Austin sing this before, in a live concert setting, where he would sing this solo, and the others would join in with harmonies. I'm so happy for him to have made THIS video, though, that is entirely his own (except for Sebastien, who is SUCH a great accompanist), really is super. Thanks for the reaction. 😀
Edited...I forgot to mention that his accent is because he's from Georgia. Sometimes he tries to suppress it, but I love it, personally. Every time he tries REALLY hard to suppress it, I have to laugh a bit, because (at least to my ears) it ends up becoming more pronounced. 🥰
There are several songs where Austin completely loses the accent. I can only suppose you haven't heard very much of his repertoire. He learnt to turn on and off the accent at will while at college. Perhaps you shouldn't laugh at an artist you're not really familiar with.
@@patriciamcl54 -- I'm sorry you took my comment that way, Patricia. I totally love Austin AND his accent, and everything else about him. I have heard every single song he has posted on CZcams -- either with Home Free, or on his own (including some from WAY back, when he was singing with The Voices of Liberty at Disney World’s Epcot).
My comment here spawned from the fact, that when I was still with the Home Free Patreon group (which I had to quit when we had a bit of a financial challenge for a while), I was part of a group conversation, during which Austin mentioned that he had been working on suppressing his accent, while the rest of us were saying, "No! No! We LOVE your accent!" The conversation was shortly after they had posted their version of "Man of Constant Sorrow," and Austin himself mentioned that he HAD been trying very hard to suppress his accent in that song, to which most of us replied, wondering, "WHY?!" I mentioned, then, that I had been really ADMIRING his accent in that song, and thought it was PERFECT! I still feel the same way.
That song had been released on September 28, 2018. Shortly after that, my youngest daughter and I (and her second-oldest son) got to attend a concert right here in South Dakota (in October), and they sang that song. It was SO wonderful. It was during that time that they had started using the looping station during their concerts, after it had been used so successfully with "Castle on the Hill" (which was released on CZcams on July 29, 2017). During the concert we attended, they sang "Man of Constant Sorrow," and Austin mentioned THEN, about the accent thing. The whole crowd reacted the same way as the Patreon group had: "NO! NO! Don't EVER change your accent!" NO!"
THAT'S what my comment was about. I LOVE AUSTIN'S ACCENT, and I hope that he never drops it, entirely. I'm totally serious, about when I see and hear what he's doing TO suppress it, TO MY EYES AND EARS, it only makes it more pronounced. This doesn't bother me in the least, because (as already mentioned several times), I LOVE AUSTIN, I LOVE HIS ACCENT, and I LOVE THE MEMORIES that song brings up. It does, however, make me giggle a bit...due to all of those memories. 😀
Along with amazing covers ("Signed, Sealed, Delivered", "Dock of the Bay"), he has terrific originals on his channel as well ("If I Met You Now", "Rest of My Life", "Real Talk", "Off the Grid" among them). If you haven't heard Chance, The Hound & The Fox's rendition of "Wayfaring Stranger" it's marvelous. Thanks for playing this & your comments.

Hi Patricia! Well, whilst your opinion might be as such, it's not like that for everyone. First of all, if I'd wait until the end of the video, I just would not remember everything I think of during the video. Also, pausing the video a couple of times lowers the chances of copyright problems. That mostly my reasoning why.

It's very irritating when someone is chattering while the song is still playing. By all means comment, but not when you should be listening. And please don't sing along - it's not a very nice sound.
BTW Les Miserables has for decades been the world's most stupendously successful musical, starting in the West End of London, moving on to Broadway and practically every capital in the world, long before it was a movie. It's strange that you have never heard of it.
