Sweet Austin ... singing to his now wife beyond the camera ... he really knows how to sell a song ! Love Home Free !
He really does. So good. And fun that she was filming ❤️
She wasn't the one filming, but she was present in the studio to show support and give him a little more motivation and inspiration to sing his heart out in this song, and he certainly did. He always sings a little more passionate and strong when he's doing it for Amberly. 🙂❤️👍🏼
@rfitzsimons55 that makes sense ❤️❤️
I've heard/seen this at least a hundred times and I still get shivers. Thanks for the Home Free reactions
You’re very welcome. I’m glad you liked it ☺️
The massive difference between this version and the original by Percy Sledge is that in this one, Austin just exudes sweetness and joy. This is a man who knows the risks of love and gladly accepts them. Watch the smile broaden towards the end!
Tim had been badgering Austin to do the song for some time. With lockdown Austin's voice was rested but he had also more confidence as he started his solo career, and he was in a deeply committed relationship, which brought him great happiness, so he accepted and this gem was the result.
It really was an amazing version of the song, and as you say the lyrics gets a different connotation when sung by someone who are aware of these things.
Austin and Adam killed it! This was during Covid so I thought the use of tvs was creative and clever. Good one Thale! 🤩😄
The TV’s kinda made it more personal, as the others are there, but kinda not. I liked that way of doing it, and it didn’t occur to me that it was because of the pandemic. Cool little detail ❤️
I really love that Austin sings this with admiration, not angst. This sets it apart from Percy's version. I love Percy but I really love the positive perspective that Home Free brings to it.
It is a beautiful twist indeed, showing that Austin knows very well the risk and happily takes it.
Such a good song. And a reaction worth watching more than once. ❤❤❤❤👍👍👍👍
Thank you ❤️☺️ glad you like it ☺️
Percy would be proud to have Austin covering his song with Home Free!
I think so too
Austin did a fabulous job of this classic song. Loved Percy Sledge's version, but this was taken to another level. I think it is also better than Michael Bolton's version. And remember this was done during quarantine, so the guys weren't even together. The backing harmonies are great, along with Tim's bass. And Adam's vocal percussion is outstanding. Drummers have often commented on just how realistic his sound is. This is why these guys are my favorite a cappella group.
They really are that good. Austin’s singing here was so good, and Adam’s beatboxing equally good. All of them really ❤️❤️
Done during covid, a Valentines gift to fans !
so amazing, a really great way to solve the isolation.
😍😍😍😍Loved YOUR reaction!
Thank you ❤️ I’m so glad you enjoyed it ☺️
This is so very beautiful! Austin killed this. He is singing this to his girlfriend now his wife. Home Free don't do covers they do upgrades. I am sure Percy Sledge would be so very proud! I love your reaction! ♥
Thank you, I’m glad you like it ❤️
That’s a cool way to look at it. Perhaps Home Free is our “House Flippers” of music 🤣❤️
This is superb on all levels!
It absolutely is. I loved it ❤️☺️
Embrace the shivers. Great music causes those. Enjoy.
It really does. ❤️
😊😊..I read in some other comment sections that Austin was actually singing this to his then girlfriend who is now his wife..great stuff, eh??😊
It’s so fun when we see things like that. Seen it in several of Geoff’s videos as well, especially Till Then ❤️
Austin did a great job on this song and Austin is the best high tenor. Adam did a great job on beatboxing with this song. I can hear Tim's low bass voice. 😊❤❤❤❤❤

I've always loved Percy Sledge's original (not so much Michael Bolton's cover). The writer of the song had a bad break-up and Percy sings "I gave you everything I had". Austin's (now wife) Amberly was in the studio (that's who he's looking at) and he sings "I'll give you everything I've got". A subtle but significant change.
Ooo, that’s nice. I didn’t catch that, indeed an important change of the lyrics there ❤️
This was an awesome cover - Austin killed it! He was obviously singing it to his girlfriend (now wife) Amberly, she was near the cameraman in the studio! I think this is one of his best with Home Free - sad to hear that he will be leaving them when their current tour finishes! 🥰
It is so great indeed, such talent ❤️
It’ll be sad to see him leave, but it’s very understandable in the situation ☺️
❤️🔥❤️🔥🔥🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥‼️
Another Austin lead (that he wrote)…”PLAYING WITH FIRE”….🔥🔥🔥💖🔥🔥🔥
❤️🔥❤️🔥
Yes, that surpasses the original (if you mean Percy Sledge).
The only other cover I know that's in this same quality range is Michael Bolton. And reactors don't do Bolton songs too often, because they tend to get blocked.
Might also be because quite a lot of people (like me) dislike Bolton's over-cooked, self-indulgent style.
Absolutely love these guys. OK, so you want to hear a perfect cover; "Autumn Leaves" by Eva Cassidy. Put it in your poll and see what happens.
I’ll definitely add it to my list. ❤️ thanks for the suggestion ☺️
I've never really liked this song. Still don't. BUT - the boys killed this. Fabulous backing harmonies. Percussion perfection. And Austin just soaring off into the stratosphere like it's normal.
It was absolutely fantastically performed indeed.
Wasn't that awesome 🥰🥰🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
It really was. I loved it. So great. I'm continuing to be amazed by their skill and arrangements.

I have the worst luck when it comes to watching reaction videos. I seem to always get the extreme pausers and chatterboxes which to me makes the video unenjoyable.
Thank you for feeding the algorithm by commenting, letting it know you want more of my videos.
I love the original because it was one of the songs when I was in 1st grade in 1966. Percy Sledge killed it, and I think Austin copied him over MichEl Bolton's over the top 1991 version that I never cared for at all.
They really did a great job on this one. I love it ❤️
Some giddy school girl needs to go change her shorts.🤣🤣
Takes something quite different than a guy singing for that
😉

Percy Sledge wasn't much of a singer. Sincere reaction.
Pause pause pause ok
Yeah, sometimes many sometimes few ☺️
When you order a filet minion at a restaurant, do you chop it into 1/4 inch pieces to eat it? Don't do it to this song, either.
In all my newer videos I remember to tell you upfront: "reaction video, will be stopping. here's the link to the original"
And I'll continue to do so, because it's reaction videos.
If that's not for you, that's fair. I'm not changing how I make my videos for it though.
I am sorry to say in my opinion Austin did a better job on this song. If i made some people mad what i said i really don't care.
He really did do an amazing job.
