- A 69-year-old woman was killed after a robbery attempt Tuesday afternoon at Fashion Island in Newport Beach, police said.
Officers responded to the area near the Barnes & Noble bookstore around 3:30 p.m.
According to the Newport Beach Police Department, the woman and her husband were walking when two suspects suddenly approached them. READ MORE: abc7.com/post/1-person-killed...
The woman was from New Zealand ....... visiting a 3rd world country.

Except this isn't LA. This is OC. Take a drive through Newport Beach, or any other OC beach town and you'll see TRUMP 2024 flags everywhere. This is a conservative area. Ppl here didn't vote for this. You won't see homeless encampments, taggings, and ppl here support our police departments. I say this as someone raised in OC in a republican family, these types of crimes never happened in areas like this until recently. LA & North OC, yes, but we were always safe here. Over the last 10 years crime has been creeping in. Committed by ppl from outside areas specifically coming in to victimize OC residents. Wealthy areas being targeted. We've felt safe behind the 'orange curtain' for so long. After this and other crimes, it's clear we let our guard down.
