Reality Check: Marner is a pretty good player who goes invisible in the postseason. That is not exactly traits that teams are willing to overpay for.

Chances are it will be a non-playoff team needing to sell tickets, and will try to build around him. Who says "Hangs up the phone first." For most of these trades it is Marner. He might go to the Preds or Vegas, but not if they gut those teams. He isn't going to Ottawa or Utah or Calgary.

Not being a jerk but if this is what Leafs fans are expecting in Marner trades they are setting themselves up for disappointment. Marner has a full NMC and is in the last year of his deal. Leafs have very little leverage if they want to trade Marner. Look at the Markstrom trade return if you want to see how an NMC can significantly reduce the return in a deal.

Woll is completely a backup goalie 100% .. and that is when he is healthy. If the Leafs don't land a true #1 goalie its another wasted season.
