I also think a major factor in Snowtuft's popularity is his scar. It's something interesting about him and a lot of warrior cat characters don't have scars as big or as notable at that. It makes you wonder about him and how he got it.

also from a design standpoint where cats mostly look the same, his scar really makes him stand out and thus unique to draw or design, so he naturally got fan artists drawing him because they like the design
Personally I don't believe Snowtuft's amnesia has to do with aging, but rather has something to do what happened to him specificly. The reason being Maggottail. When we see him in Omen of the Stars he's so faded Ivypool cannot even tell what colour his pelt is, like he is barely there. To me this seem to indicate that he's even older, possibly the oldest Dark Forest cat. Yet his memories still seem to be there. He remembers only caring about power. Instead, I believe that Snowtuft's memory loss is either from past trauma causing him to block out the memories, alternatively maybe he suffered from some illness that made him forget stuff in life without having his memories restored in death.
Knowing the authors if we ever see maggottail again he will be not faded at all like Mapleshade, she was fading in one book and totally not in the next

I desperately want a Snowtuft novella or super edition, that would be so cool to see what he actually did, how he felt about his actions before loosing his memory, and why he helped the living cats. I don’t read Warriors anymore, but I would definitely come back for something like that
It would be super interesting for them to keep the lost memory tidbit too. Like the end of the book is a large time skip is one of those “I’ve watched so many live, die. I don’t even remember how I got here anymore.” With the idea that maybe helping Shadowsight might redeem him, if not to starclan, then at least to himself. There’s no limits with this guy!
I've been wanting to write a Snowtuft fanfiction for about a month now but I'm not sure how I'd go with it. I originally had an idea where Snowtuft's mother was a Shadowclan cat and his father was a Skyclan cat who was chased out of the forest territory with the rest of them, and Snowtuft turns evil after hearing what happened to Skyclan. I know it's not a really good idea and if you have any ideas you like better I'm open to suggestions
Most children's/YA fiction really does have a morality problem, and Warriors is especially resistant to change. No matter how often the Clans come together and help each other out, by the time the next arc rolls around they're ready to rip each other apart again. I appreciate that the Erins are finally trying to fix this, but the whole thing will always feel unearned to me because in my opinion the whole "Codebreaker" plot never paid off. Ashfur was never a cat who cared especially for the code (he literally teamed up with Hawkfrost to kill Firestar because Squilf dumped him) and in the end they make it seem like he only played up the codebreaking debacle to destabilize the Clans (which is an awesome idea that I really wish the books would have confirmed). After Veil of Shadows the story became only about defeating Ashfur and not about the warrior code, until they suddenly brought it back at the end. Even though they could have done so much more, they're so reluctant to embrace anything truly thought-provoking, no matter how much it parallels real life questions, that it just takes me out of it.
This is the primary reason I really disliked Ashfur being the main antagonist of the arc. It took TBC from being about the morality of the code to being about a random angry guy who has nothing to do with the code. Sure, it's good they're nevertheless finally reexamining the code, but it feels incredibly arbitrary that they're suddenly doing it NOW out of all the times it's caused them needless trouble. The code being different wouldn't have prevented Ashfur from causing problems, and did anyone aside from I think ThunderClan even feel any long-term consequences from the codebreaker hunt? At worst it made ThunderClan reluctant to overthrow Bramblefake, which is a problem I suspect they would always have.
honestly when we all collectively realised it was ashfur i assumed his thing w the code was going to be a way for him to assume control/seem like he has a clear 'problem' he wants to eradicate which hides his real motive but no hes just a narc
Me personally, I like to think Snowtuft came about one generation before Mapleshade. And as a bonus theory: what if the EXISTENCE of the dark forest cats aren't by those who remember them, but their MEMORIES! As a reminder: Appletuft is simply crookedstars grandfather. And Mapleshade is vaguely remembered,but only by her LOVERS FAMILY. And that might be why she remembers everything about her life: the entire family line of Reedshine,Shellheart,Crookedstars,ECT, have a memory of her. Their memory of her is strong enough that she knows exactly what she did because *THEY* know exactly what she did; she murdered Crookedstars grandfather out of grief and jealousy. So she remembers her grief and jealousy... Now let's take this to account for Snowtuft... litterally the only thing he remembers about his entire life was the clan he lived in.. by now the clans only know that alootttt of morally grey to evil cats come out of shadowclans ambitions.. so because the only thing they remember is the shadowclans cats is 'evil' thing...what if that's why he only remembers his clan but not his 'crime'? His crime could of come 3-5 generations ago, sometime between AFTER dawn of the clans, but BEFORE Mapleshades vengeance. His crime was enough to get him to the dark forest, but it was something that no one remembers. Not the victims,not Snowtuft, not even when it was. All they remember is that there is evil in shadowclan. My personal headcanon for Snowtuft,adding to what you mentioned; he praises ambitious cats and denounces those with Kittypet blood...what if Snowtuft took the ambition of keeping the clans pure similar to tigerstar... Any rogue or Kittypet that tried to join the clan or even stepped foot on shadowclan territory, Snowtuft attacked and killed with no acception, praising loyalty to the clan above loyalty to ones self. When he died, he broke a rule numerous times: to not kill to be victorious. It's one thing to kill on accident or to kill when commanded to...it's another thing to make killing a personal mission.
I agree, perhaps he killed a kittypet but it had no family or no one found out they were killed, that's why the murder wasn't remembered. Btw, I love your theory! I will definitely headcannon it now
Can confirm his name is my favorite thing about him, it’s so cute and really made him stand out compared to the menacing names most Dark Forest cats have.
Snowtufts death was incredibly anti-climatic, the fact they introduced him to just... Do nothing really? His part in the Broken Code made it seem like he was actually going to do something, but he didn't.
Honestly, I really wish he survived. He was actually a pretty interesting character, but he barely got to do anything and got killed off almost right after being introduced.
Exactly, the fact he just died after the cliff hanger was such a big missed opportunity. They could've done something really interesting with him if he lived.
I seriously thought that Snowtuft somehow survived and was gonna come back & save one of the protags or something but nope. It was just so disappointing, I was really beginning to enjoy his character & thought it might be a redemption (which I LOVE redemption arcs) and really change how the Dark Forest & Starclan interact. But nah, Warriors doesn’t do that, things not being so black and white? People changing? IMPOSSIBLE.
I started to love SnowTuft in the Broken Code, and when he died I was in disbelief, I mean yeah he saved the living but… He did all that to save his home and they… Killed him?
My suggestion for a talking is Turtle Tail! Her story is different, and slightly complex. She is shown to be padding after Gray Wing but decides to become a kitty pet after realising he didn’t seem to love her (rather, he loved Storm). While a kitty pet, she becomes pregnant with Tom’s kits and it seems like they’re in an abusive relationship, which isn’t really featured in Warriors. After leaving Tom, Bumble, and her kittypet life behind her she has her kits on the Moor and Gray Wing raises them like his own. I think it’s interesting how she is shown as the stronger one in their relationship, when you look at sexist stereotypes this is often not the case that the female is stronger (I don’t agree with this stereotype btw!). After her death trying to rescue her kits, Gray Wing sees her a lot in his dreams. She seems to accept that he’s in love with Slate and supports him, just wanting him to be happy again. I think she’s a perfect choice for a talking as her character is extremely different to others and there is no cat quite like her. It’s also easy to compare her to Silverstream, who appears jealous about Graystripe finding a new mate
My suggestion is for Barley. He seems like a fun guy with a unique backstory. That or Echosong, a medicine cat who was uniquely trained by only ghosts.
Sunstar. Dude was literally a whole ass leader under Pinestar, a leader who left his clan, and was Bluestar’s second mentor. He also supposedly had a crush on moonflower. He seemed to be kind of awkward with other cats, most apparent with Bluestar cause he tried so hard to get along with her and befriend her but she seemed repellent for the most part.
I appreciate how you mentioned how Starclan has changed in the current books. Maybe its just my nostalgia goggles on, but I hate way Starclan has become weirdly conservative and hypocritical with some of the newer books. The fact that Leafpool had to convince Starclan to let her stay (because she had the kits *they told her to have*) while Onestar is told pre-trial that he already has a guaranteed ticket to heaven will never not piss me off.
I’m really happy Snowtuft got more character development throughout TBC! A few suggestions for cats to talk about is Snowfur, Tall Shadow or also Goosefeather!
I think it would be interesting if Juniperclaw was much less a guardian of the tunnel, but a farer of souls. Cats who die have to walk through his tunnel, and if StarClan grants access, he guides them there into StarClan. If not, he has to guide them to the Dark Forest. That way, he isn't just sitting guarding a tunnel for all of eternity. And it wouldn't be JUST Christianity that Warriors draws from. I think that's the biggest problem with the books. It's clear the heaviest influence is the Christian ideals of Heaven and Hell. You're judged at the gate, and that's just it. BUT THEN they introduce fading away if no one remembers you, which is very much an Ancient Egyptian and Spanish cultural ideal of the final death. I think introducing an idea BASED AROUND River Styx from Greece Mythology (the tunnel) would be fascinating. We KIND OF see that with Squirreflight fighting her way back to the living world, and it seems like the Moonpool is a straight portal to the Dark Forest? Is that right? But anyways.... TLDR; there needs to be less emphasis on ONE cultural ideal of death and the afterlife in warriors for a more better worldbuilding experience.
I think that would work really well if there is a cat that blames Juniperclaw for being in the dark forest if it is written right it could make a good plot

Could you do a talking about rejection? I know its not a specific cat, but the differences from Mapleshade to Thrushpelt, or similarities in Bumblestripe to Ashfur, would be super interesting. So many cats handle rejection poorly, but some of them don’t, and perhaps it has to do with circumstances? Idk
Rejection as in romantic ones or clan-standards? It'd be a pretty mixed catagory and I'd say that there isnt much to talk about in terms of 'rejection' because we all know whats reasonable and whats not
I think Snowtuft could've been like a darkstripe in life. He seems like he would've been the lackey of some main villian, or he would've killed someone because of his emotions like Ashfur. He acts cowardly and has to be convinced to do risky things, so maybe someone pushed him to kill or do something horrible. Idk it just makes the most sense to me.
StarClan: well done everything is fine again! Rootspring: not everything is fine my forbidden girlfriend is dead and a honorable dark forest cat who sacrificed his life to save ours is also dead! Also this poor soul who saved Shadowsights life and talked him out of depression is suffering here! I think he deserves to go to StarClan! Can you talk about Speckletail if you haven't yet? I feel like she's one of the more realistic mom characters, being in denial of Snowkits deafness, and acting as a mother figure to Brightpaw after the dogs, I feel like she's not talked about enough
CROOKEDSTAR!! Hes such a great character, but his grief is never adequately explored, neither is his relationship with feather and storm. He lost willow and silver in almost the same way and thats not explored either. Also, his disability is well handled in my opinion besides his name change. He doesnt get shoved in the medicine den or elders den like most disabled characters. I also like how his disability is seen realistically (not a life ending injury or disability that entirely nukes his quality of life) and i love how its shown how he learns to adapt with it. (Not including his renaming) He and willowbreeze are also cute. I like how he finds self worth without a relationship too. I like brightheart and cloudtail, but the idea that cloudtail was the reason she survived kinda bothers me. Crooked and willow arent really like that though. I also like how he doesnt spend his whole life trying to please rainflower. I also just really like brambleberry and shellheart. Mapleshade doesnt matter because she adds almost nothing to crookedstars character. We’ll just pretend mapleshade doesn’t exist here.
Listening to this, I have a bit of a mini-theory about why he is in the Dark Forest. So it’s pretty clear he’s a coward. Given that dead cats retain the personality of when they were alive (duh), I think the reason he’s in the Dark Forest is because of cowardly choices. Perhaps his Clanmates were losing a battle and needed Snowtuft’s help, but instead of helping them, he chose to run away and hide. Then, rather than owning up to this mistake, he tries to cover it up to preserve a good image about himself. As time passes, his Clanmates get closer and closer to the truth, so Snowtuft kills each cat that confronts him out of desperation to- again- keep a good image of himself among his Clan. Eventually this gets out of hand, and he is killed for his actions, hence the gruesomely large scar. This feels like a bit of a stretch, but I think it’s reasonable enough to put this timeline of events together. Plus it could explain why he doesn’t remember what he did because he was doing these things out of fear. Thoughts?
For some reason I just loved Snowtuft because everyone was like “all the cats in the dark forest are evil and every last one of them will try to kill you!” To Shadowsight and then Snowtuft is just like “hi, my name is Snowtuft.” I’m not sure if this makes sense or is grammatically correct, but you get the idea
I feel like Starclan is getting more and more Just downright _evil_ as the series progresses and honestly, It sucks that Warriors doesn't have the good writing or the morals for redemption arcs
I feel like we need a dark forest book where we have different POV’s from different lesser known background characters or characters that turned and did the right thing like Snowtuft and their stories. How easily a cat could turn to the dark forest and end up trapped.
Imagine if snowtuft was supposed to be a starclan cat, but he got lost. After a while, snowtuft just accepted the dark forest because he couldn’t find starclan.
Snowtuft Is literally my favorite character in the whole series even before he got more backstory and don’t get me wrong learning more about him was amazing and now he’s a well know charter

Before the last book in the arc came out I liked the idea he was in the dark forest by mistake. and has been there so long now he's like, well I'm here so I must be bad I guess.... but then he double dies and the idea he never should have been there just makes me sad. but also something I can see them doing to him. I wouldn't mind getting a novella or something about him cause it would be so far disconnected from current events. would be interesting
Honestly, part of me was expecting snowtuft to make a greater appearance in this next series, that his memory loss wasn't indicative of ancient dead cats but something specific to him. Either a preexisting issue he had which caused him to do terrible things or a punishment starclan/someone put on him so he could not continue to seek vengeance. I still remember the old tales Thunderclan had about the cold hearted cats of shadowclan and I wonder if Snowtuft isn't part of those sayings. It would be interesting to flesh out his character more as a troubled villain or even just seeing the history that made him who he is.
I kinda want someone to talk about Smoke/Darktail (mostly his mother), Goosefeather, Shadowsight and how people KEEP RESTRAINING HIM WHILE HE'S HAVING HIS SEIZURES, Leopardfoot, Goldenflower, Sasha, Juniperclaw, *Thruspelt my beloved* ❤ /platonic, Godawful Rainflower, or Crookedstar. Mostly because they didn't deserve what they got and Thrushpelt is Thrushpelt. We love him Smoke - Onestar (in the background) had an affair with her and they had Darktail and a few unnamed kits who died later on. Instead of bringing them with him (Tallstar would have understood because you know...Jake) he then abandons him and goes with his kitty cult of the wind. Out of reasonable anger, she starts telling and training Darktail what she was taught during their meanings and slowly shaping him into the bloodthirsty murderer that he was. Goosefeather - (edit this later) Shadowsight - We all know about Shadowsight. The son of Tigerheart/star and Dovewing. In Tawnypelt's Clan he's a moon old? Anyways, he has one of his seizures (which is frightening to watch since they can be very dangerous) and Dovewing and Tawnypelt hurry to restrain him. What should you do while someone's having a seizure? I hope you didn't say restrain them because that just makes things worse. Later in the Broken Code, he thought he was doing something right but accidentally killed Bramblestar causing Ashfur to possess him. He's bullied throughout the series and killed twice. Idk what else there is to say. Leopardfoot - Leopardfoot is the mother to Tigerstar and the mate to Pinestar. It's creepy. I'm just going to say that now. Anyways, Pinestar was told to kill his son by Doestar and in his panic he abandoned his kitty wife and children to become a house cat. (Two will die later on but that doesn't matter, rip). She was left to have two of her children to die and for Tigerstar to grow up to be the tyrant he was right in front of her eyes. (If Pinestar stayed and trained Tigerstar himself then I'm pretty sure he'd turn out fine). I can't imagine how much pain she would have felt, may she rest in kitty cat heaven. Goldenflower - The mate of Tigerstar, and the mother of Bramblestar, Tawnypelt, Swiftpaw, Lynxkit, and foster Feathertail and Stormfur for a temporary amount of time. We know about her already, she suffered with the fear her children would turn out like him, the grief she felt finding out Lynxkit died of unknown causes and Swiftpaw to the dogs, then Tawnypelt left Thunderclan and joined her father in Shadowclan scaring the fur off her pelt. Yeah, yeah we know. (I'm tired, intense sobbing, I'm trying to speedrun this comment) Sasha - Mother to Hawkfrost, Mothwing, and Tadpole, mate of Tigerstar. Finding out Tigerstar is a tyrant over time, Tadpole drowning, her and her kits joining Riverclan because she cannot provide for them and hunt for herself at the same time (after barn cats rejected them), then abandoned them and tried taking them back when they were going to move to the lake. (inhale) It's a sticky situation. Juniperclaw - (edit this later) Thrushpelt - (edit this later) Rainflower - (edit this later) Crookedstar - (edit this later)

I would love to see a Swiftpaw Talking video. Beside that he did nothing all his life except that he died, he is a very popular figure. There are 2 point of view. After all Brigtheart’s injury was all his fault , but he is considert a hero. After all he did something brave.
can you talk about feathertail? i feel like despite being somewhat of a main character, she is severely underrated. and i love her manga, and how it actually improves her as a character then as other mangas kind of water down already good characters

I already commented this one a previous video, but you should do a mini-talking on Redwillow, the only Dark Forest trainee in OotS who went to the Dark Forest after the Great Battle and was one of the only Dark Forest trainees (the only one besides Breezepelt I believe) who fought on the Dark Forest's side. He later appears as a Dark Forest cat in The Broken Code and gets double killed by the Dark Water
It would be cool to talk about either Brook Where Small Fish Swim or Foxheart. Both are characters everyone knows, but neither of them are really focused on that much in the books. Foxheart had an interesting relationship with Raggedstar, but it wasn’t really focused on as much as it should have been.
I honestly kinda like the idea that Ashfur and Bramblclaw were rivals/friends. I think they would have an interesting dynamic. Also my comment got in a Moonkitti video! My life is complete!

It would be interesting to hear you talk about Pinestar! He seems morally complex, considering he left the clans because he didn't want to murder his own son, but also allowed Sunstar to do most of the heavy lifting for him when he was his deputy. There's kind of an existential horror to him and Tigerstar. It's also an example of how horrible Starclan can be, as they asked him to kill his own son,and that's clearly the main reason he left Thunderclan.
I do genuinely think that it's more interesting for Snowtuft to have some kind of amnesia or repressing his past, bc. Other cats older than him still remember their memories.
I recommend a mini-talking about the travelling loners in windclan (Tallstars revenge). Its not a subject talked about often although i think its intresting :) .
As much as I also don't like the Snowkit being Snowtuft theory, I have to point out that we HAVE seen kits age in the afterlife. Back in Code of the Clans, Graywing, the Riverclan medicine cat, was visited by the ghosts of three kittens who had died in the gorge. They were "grown" up into the cats they would have become in life: two warriors and a future leader. So kits can occasionally apparently age or change their form, whether intentionally or not, but it's probably rare or was just a random one-off thing one of the Erins had schemed and was forgotten about.

Spiderleg was Daisy’s mate (briefly), and Ferncloud’s son! Also his name is Spiderleg because he has long legs, though the visual of a cat with legs like a spider makes me shudder.
Surely he'll get a super edition at some point. They literally gave his death a throw away line. Willowshine be like "oh yeah that dark forest guy his neck is broken now". But honestly if cats like Frecklewish end up in the forest maybe we don't want to know.
id really recommendb talking about tallstar, i think his character arc was very interesting in tallstars revenge, especially with the plot points of how he believed he had to leave the clans, and the way his mind worked about new things such as woollytail getting with palebird and sandgorses murder and with how he treated the other clans and blaming himself for everything it was very interesting and id like to see you elaborate further on his character
He is such a cool guy, in concept. I wish they'd do more with him, but personally I don't want a novella about his life because part of his allure is that no one (not even Snowtuft) remembers what his crimes were. There's something so interesting about that to me, like, the idea that if a character were to help him or become his friend, they'll have to accept that they are never going to know what he did. It could have been nothing, it could have been the worst act they can imagine. No one will ever know. It brings to mind questions about the nature of punishment and guilt, not to mention identity.
Why don't you talk about Tree? He was a huge... plot point(?) in vision of shadows for just knowing Needletail (I forgot why i haven't read that series in about 2 months now) and he could summon and talk to ghosts. In Squirrelflight's hope we find out that he was born to one of the Sisters and doesn't really like them. When he goes to visit the Sisters to try to get them to move, he tries his best to not snap at Moonlight. I think he's a very interesting character. Tree sees Squirrelflight when she is not dead, but not alive. (I'm too lazy to add anything else) (I've reposted this from the mothflight video.
Something i thought about for a little bit was that Snowtuft seemed to have very little reason to be in the Dark Forest. He obviously is way nicer in comparison to other power-hungry rulers. So i want to propose the theory that because Snowtuft can't remember his crime, that there is no crime at all and Starclan is just dumb and way too logical in regards to their rules. Perhaps Snowtuft was ambitious for power or something similar but in a right way? Perhaps a Shadowclan leader turned tyrant and Snowtuft wanted to take that power from the clan leader himself. So he plotted to gain the leaders trust and become deputy to attempt to take all the leaders nine lives and become leader himself to right the old leaders wrongs. But Snowtuft was found out and killed when he got this huge scar, and since Starclan deemed his ambitious rise to leadership as evil he got punished for trying to become a leader and save his clan from an already evil tyrant. He interprets this as a rightful punishment perhaps after years of influence the Dark Forest has given him and bends him towards evil, warping his personality and virtues. Maybe he is in some way related to Blackstar due to the similar Shadowclan lineage and primary pelt colors being white or mostly white. This is all speculation of course! I just thought it was an interesting outlook.

I feel like this would end up being a mini-talking but a character I don't see talked about much is Antpelt. Antpelt really didn't get much characterisation apart from being another clan cat tricked into joining the DF guys but I've always liked him.
What was the actual point of Snowtuft? Why did they bother introducing the idea of sympathetic Dark Forest cats if they: A) Permanently erased Snowtuft _and_ the other sympathetic DF cats anyway B) Established that none of these cats would have gotten a place in StarClan, even though they helped save StarClan from the mess it caused?

I think you could either talk about sweetpaw or rowanberry and nutwhisker. Although sweetpaw is only featured through half of Bluestar’s prophecy, she has a lot going for her, if I’m correct she was named after pinestar’s mother sweetbriar, she was thornclaws littermate. And she was literally buried alive! Rowanberry and nutwhisker are Yellowfang’s siblings and we’re a good support for Yellowfang, mostly rowanberry, she was nightstar’s mother and when Yellowfang was exiled she was really the only one who protested.

Yeah, Snowkit is not Snowtuft. Not only is it stated multiple times kits never grow up, and dark forest cats don't either, this theory is already debunked. But The Broken Code debunked it even more because Snowtuft literally said that he vaguely remembered being really bad during his life, which is why he, get this, *deserved* to be in the Dark Forest. He wasn't lured there, he got there by being a bad cat. Sure he might have been wimpy in the Dark Forest, but not in his living state! And who would think innocent, deaf little Snowkit who went to StarClan could be that? Just because their both *common* white cats and have the *common* snow prefix doesn't mean they are automatically the same cat. I don't think they are the same cat, and the evidence proves it. Though, people can have their AUs about them, I won't stop them. Just know, there is a 99% chance they are *not* the same cat.
Idea: what if Snowtuft was like Ivypool- a living cat training in the dark forest? He would then be killed when he was cut open, but continue training as a ghost? Edit: sorry if this was already disproved, I just can’t remember
I'd love to hear about Goosefeather. He was viewed as insane by the majority of his clan, and I kind of understand it. He never told anyone about his powers. If not him, maybe Moonflower? She lived a kind of sad life, and then, after she died, she must've watched over her daughters and seen everything Bluestar went through. Anyway, I love these two so much. They're probably my favorite characters.

I think you should talk about hawkfrost. He had much wasted potential and I think he’d be a very interesting character to talk about. He’s one of those characters that is used as a pawn to make brambleclaw look like the good guy in every scenario with him. Idk I think he could have his character explored more
I also think a major factor in Snowtuft's popularity is his scar. It's something interesting about him and a lot of warrior cat characters don't have scars as big or as notable at that. It makes you wonder about him and how he got it.

I like to think he’s one of the more innocent cats in there personally. Like how Frecklewish is apparently in there.
Personally I don't believe Snowtuft's amnesia has to do with aging, but rather has something to do what happened to him specificly. The reason being Maggottail. When we see him in Omen of the Stars he's so faded Ivypool cannot even tell what colour his pelt is, like he is barely there. To me this seem to indicate that he's even older, possibly the oldest Dark Forest cat. Yet his memories still seem to be there. He remembers only caring about power.
Instead, I believe that Snowtuft's memory loss is either from past trauma causing him to block out the memories, alternatively maybe he suffered from some illness that made him forget stuff in life without having his memories restored in death.
Knowing the authors if we ever see maggottail again he will be not faded at all like Mapleshade, she was fading in one book and totally not in the next

I've been wanting to write a Snowtuft fanfiction for about a month now but I'm not sure how I'd go with it. I originally had an idea where Snowtuft's mother was a Shadowclan cat and his father was a Skyclan cat who was chased out of the forest territory with the rest of them, and Snowtuft turns evil after hearing what happened to Skyclan. I know it's not a really good idea and if you have any ideas you like better I'm open to suggestions
Most children's/YA fiction really does have a morality problem, and Warriors is especially resistant to change. No matter how often the Clans come together and help each other out, by the time the next arc rolls around they're ready to rip each other apart again. I appreciate that the Erins are finally trying to fix this, but the whole thing will always feel unearned to me because in my opinion the whole "Codebreaker" plot never paid off. Ashfur was never a cat who cared especially for the code (he literally teamed up with Hawkfrost to kill Firestar because Squilf dumped him) and in the end they make it seem like he only played up the codebreaking debacle to destabilize the Clans (which is an awesome idea that I really wish the books would have confirmed). After Veil of Shadows the story became only about defeating Ashfur and not about the warrior code, until they suddenly brought it back at the end. Even though they could have done so much more, they're so reluctant to embrace anything truly thought-provoking, no matter how much it parallels real life questions, that it just takes me out of it.
This is the primary reason I really disliked Ashfur being the main antagonist of the arc. It took TBC from being about the morality of the code to being about a random angry guy who has nothing to do with the code. Sure, it's good they're nevertheless finally reexamining the code, but it feels incredibly arbitrary that they're suddenly doing it NOW out of all the times it's caused them needless trouble. The code being different wouldn't have prevented Ashfur from causing problems, and did anyone aside from I think ThunderClan even feel any long-term consequences from the codebreaker hunt? At worst it made ThunderClan reluctant to overthrow Bramblefake, which is a problem I suspect they would always have.
honestly when we all collectively realised it was ashfur i assumed his thing w the code was going to be a way for him to assume control/seem like he has a clear 'problem' he wants to eradicate which hides his real motive but no hes just a narc

Me personally, I like to think Snowtuft came about one generation before Mapleshade. And as a bonus theory: what if the EXISTENCE of the dark forest cats aren't by those who remember them, but their MEMORIES!
As a reminder: Appletuft is simply crookedstars grandfather. And Mapleshade is vaguely remembered,but only by her LOVERS FAMILY. And that might be why she remembers everything about her life: the entire family line of Reedshine,Shellheart,Crookedstars,ECT, have a memory of her. Their memory of her is strong enough that she knows exactly what she did because *THEY* know exactly what she did; she murdered Crookedstars grandfather out of grief and jealousy. So she remembers her grief and jealousy...
Now let's take this to account for Snowtuft... litterally the only thing he remembers about his entire life was the clan he lived in.. by now the clans only know that alootttt of morally grey to evil cats come out of shadowclans ambitions.. so because the only thing they remember is the shadowclans cats is 'evil' thing...what if that's why he only remembers his clan but not his 'crime'? His crime could of come 3-5 generations ago, sometime between AFTER dawn of the clans, but BEFORE Mapleshades vengeance. His crime was enough to get him to the dark forest, but it was something that no one remembers. Not the victims,not Snowtuft, not even when it was. All they remember is that there is evil in shadowclan.
My personal headcanon for Snowtuft,adding to what you mentioned; he praises ambitious cats and denounces those with Kittypet blood...what if Snowtuft took the ambition of keeping the clans pure similar to tigerstar...
Any rogue or Kittypet that tried to join the clan or even stepped foot on shadowclan territory, Snowtuft attacked and killed with no acception, praising loyalty to the clan above loyalty to ones self. When he died, he broke a rule numerous times: to not kill to be victorious. It's one thing to kill on accident or to kill when commanded to...it's another thing to make killing a personal mission.
I agree, perhaps he killed a kittypet but it had no family or no one found out they were killed, that's why the murder wasn't remembered. Btw, I love your theory! I will definitely headcannon it now

Snowtufts death was incredibly anti-climatic, the fact they introduced him to just... Do nothing really? His part in the Broken Code made it seem like he was actually going to do something, but he didn't.
Honestly, I really wish he survived. He was actually a pretty interesting character, but he barely got to do anything and got killed off almost right after being introduced.

I seriously thought that Snowtuft somehow survived and was gonna come back & save one of the protags or something but nope. It was just so disappointing, I was really beginning to enjoy his character & thought it might be a redemption (which I LOVE redemption arcs) and really change how the Dark Forest & Starclan interact. But nah, Warriors doesn’t do that, things not being so black and white? People changing? IMPOSSIBLE.
I started to love SnowTuft in the Broken Code, and when he died I was in disbelief, I mean yeah he saved the living but… He did all that to save his home and they… Killed him?
My suggestion for a talking is Turtle Tail! Her story is different, and slightly complex. She is shown to be padding after Gray Wing but decides to become a kitty pet after realising he didn’t seem to love her (rather, he loved Storm). While a kitty pet, she becomes pregnant with Tom’s kits and it seems like they’re in an abusive relationship, which isn’t really featured in Warriors. After leaving Tom, Bumble, and her kittypet life behind her she has her kits on the Moor and Gray Wing raises them like his own. I think it’s interesting how she is shown as the stronger one in their relationship, when you look at sexist stereotypes this is often not the case that the female is stronger (I don’t agree with this stereotype btw!). After her death trying to rescue her kits, Gray Wing sees her a lot in his dreams. She seems to accept that he’s in love with Slate and supports him, just wanting him to be happy again. I think she’s a perfect choice for a talking as her character is extremely different to others and there is no cat quite like her. It’s also easy to compare her to Silverstream, who appears jealous about Graystripe finding a new mate

Sunstar. Dude was literally a whole ass leader under Pinestar, a leader who left his clan, and was Bluestar’s second mentor. He also supposedly had a crush on moonflower.
He seemed to be kind of awkward with other cats, most apparent with Bluestar cause he tried so hard to get along with her and befriend her but she seemed repellent for the most part.
And didn’t he only get eight lives because pinestar didn’t revoke his name and kept that life

I appreciate how you mentioned how Starclan has changed in the current books. Maybe its just my nostalgia goggles on, but I hate way Starclan has become weirdly conservative and hypocritical with some of the newer books. The fact that Leafpool had to convince Starclan to let her stay (because she had the kits *they told her to have*) while Onestar is told pre-trial that he already has a guaranteed ticket to heaven will never not piss me off.
I’m really happy Snowtuft got more character development throughout TBC! A few suggestions for cats to talk about is Snowfur, Tall Shadow or also Goosefeather!
I think it would be interesting if Juniperclaw was much less a guardian of the tunnel, but a farer of souls. Cats who die have to walk through his tunnel, and if StarClan grants access, he guides them there into StarClan. If not, he has to guide them to the Dark Forest. That way, he isn't just sitting guarding a tunnel for all of eternity. And it wouldn't be JUST Christianity that Warriors draws from. I think that's the biggest problem with the books. It's clear the heaviest influence is the Christian ideals of Heaven and Hell.
You're judged at the gate, and that's just it. BUT THEN they introduce fading away if no one remembers you, which is very much an Ancient Egyptian and Spanish cultural ideal of the final death. I think introducing an idea BASED AROUND River Styx from Greece Mythology (the tunnel) would be fascinating. We KIND OF see that with Squirreflight fighting her way back to the living world, and it seems like the Moonpool is a straight portal to the Dark Forest? Is that right?
But anyways....
TLDR; there needs to be less emphasis on ONE cultural ideal of death and the afterlife in warriors for a more better worldbuilding experience.
I think that would work really well if there is a cat that blames Juniperclaw for being in the dark forest if it is written right it could make a good plot

CROOKEDSTAR!! Hes such a great character, but his grief is never adequately explored, neither is his relationship with feather and storm. He lost willow and silver in almost the same way and thats not explored either. Also, his disability is well handled in my opinion besides his name change. He doesnt get shoved in the medicine den or elders den like most disabled characters. I also like how his disability is seen realistically (not a life ending injury or disability that entirely nukes his quality of life) and i love how its shown how he learns to adapt with it. (Not including his renaming)
He and willowbreeze are also cute. I like how he finds self worth without a relationship too. I like brightheart and cloudtail, but the idea that cloudtail was the reason she survived kinda bothers me. Crooked and willow arent really like that though.
I also like how he doesnt spend his whole life trying to please rainflower. I also just really like brambleberry and shellheart.
Mapleshade doesnt matter because she adds almost nothing to crookedstars character. We’ll just pretend mapleshade doesn’t exist here.

Listening to this, I have a bit of a mini-theory about why he is in the Dark Forest.
So it’s pretty clear he’s a coward. Given that dead cats retain the personality of when they were alive (duh), I think the reason he’s in the Dark Forest is because of cowardly choices.
Perhaps his Clanmates were losing a battle and needed Snowtuft’s help, but instead of helping them, he chose to run away and hide. Then, rather than owning up to this mistake, he tries to cover it up to preserve a good image about himself. As time passes, his Clanmates get closer and closer to the truth, so Snowtuft kills each cat that confronts him out of desperation to- again- keep a good image of himself among his Clan. Eventually this gets out of hand, and he is killed for his actions, hence the gruesomely large scar.
This feels like a bit of a stretch, but I think it’s reasonable enough to put this timeline of events together. Plus it could explain why he doesn’t remember what he did because he was doing these things out of fear. Thoughts?

Before the last book in the arc came out I liked the idea he was in the dark forest by mistake. and has been there so long now he's like, well I'm here so I must be bad I guess.... but then he double dies and the idea he never should have been there just makes me sad. but also something I can see them doing to him. I wouldn't mind getting a novella or something about him cause it would be so far disconnected from current events. would be interesting
Honestly, part of me was expecting snowtuft to make a greater appearance in this next series, that his memory loss wasn't indicative of ancient dead cats but something specific to him. Either a preexisting issue he had which caused him to do terrible things or a punishment starclan/someone put on him so he could not continue to seek vengeance.
I still remember the old tales Thunderclan had about the cold hearted cats of shadowclan and I wonder if Snowtuft isn't part of those sayings. It would be interesting to flesh out his character more as a troubled villain or even just seeing the history that made him who he is.

Smoke - Onestar (in the background) had an affair with her and they had Darktail and a few unnamed kits who died later on. Instead of bringing them with him (Tallstar would have understood because you know...Jake) he then abandons him and goes with his kitty cult of the wind. Out of reasonable anger, she starts telling and training Darktail what she was taught during their meanings and slowly shaping him into the bloodthirsty murderer that he was.
Goosefeather - (edit this later)
Shadowsight - We all know about Shadowsight. The son of Tigerheart/star and Dovewing. In Tawnypelt's Clan he's a moon old? Anyways, he has one of his seizures (which is frightening to watch since they can be very dangerous) and Dovewing and Tawnypelt hurry to restrain him. What should you do while someone's having a seizure? I hope you didn't say restrain them because that just makes things worse. Later in the Broken Code, he thought he was doing something right but accidentally killed Bramblestar causing Ashfur to possess him. He's bullied throughout the series and killed twice. Idk what else there is to say.
Leopardfoot - Leopardfoot is the mother to Tigerstar and the mate to Pinestar. It's creepy. I'm just going to say that now. Anyways, Pinestar was told to kill his son by Doestar and in his panic he abandoned his kitty wife and children to become a house cat. (Two will die later on but that doesn't matter, rip). She was left to have two of her children to die and for Tigerstar to grow up to be the tyrant he was right in front of her eyes. (If Pinestar stayed and trained Tigerstar himself then I'm pretty sure he'd turn out fine). I can't imagine how much pain she would have felt, may she rest in kitty cat heaven.
Goldenflower - The mate of Tigerstar, and the mother of Bramblestar, Tawnypelt, Swiftpaw, Lynxkit, and foster Feathertail and Stormfur for a temporary amount of time. We know about her already, she suffered with the fear her children would turn out like him, the grief she felt finding out Lynxkit died of unknown causes and Swiftpaw to the dogs, then Tawnypelt left Thunderclan and joined her father in Shadowclan scaring the fur off her pelt. Yeah, yeah we know. (I'm tired, intense sobbing, I'm trying to speedrun this comment)
Sasha - Mother to Hawkfrost, Mothwing, and Tadpole, mate of Tigerstar. Finding out Tigerstar is a tyrant over time, Tadpole drowning, her and her kits joining Riverclan because she cannot provide for them and hunt for herself at the same time (after barn cats rejected them), then abandoned them and tried taking them back when they were going to move to the lake. (inhale) It's a sticky situation.

I already commented this one a previous video, but you should do a mini-talking on Redwillow, the only Dark Forest trainee in OotS who went to the Dark Forest after the Great Battle and was one of the only Dark Forest trainees (the only one besides Breezepelt I believe) who fought on the Dark Forest's side. He later appears as a Dark Forest cat in The Broken Code and gets double killed by the Dark Water

It would be cool to talk about either Brook Where Small Fish Swim or Foxheart. Both are characters everyone knows, but neither of them are really focused on that much in the books. Foxheart had an interesting relationship with Raggedstar, but it wasn’t really focused on as much as it should have been.
Foxheart is kinda of a cruel name.

It would be interesting to hear you talk about Pinestar! He seems morally complex, considering he left the clans because he didn't want to murder his own son, but also allowed Sunstar to do most of the heavy lifting for him when he was his deputy. There's kind of an existential horror to him and Tigerstar. It's also an example of how horrible Starclan can be, as they asked him to kill his own son,and that's clearly the main reason he left Thunderclan.
I do genuinely think that it's more interesting for Snowtuft to have some kind of amnesia or repressing his past, bc. Other cats older than him still remember their memories.
I recommend a mini-talking about the travelling loners in windclan (Tallstars revenge). Its not a subject talked about often although i think its intresting :) .

As much as I also don't like the Snowkit being Snowtuft theory, I have to point out that we HAVE seen kits age in the afterlife.
Back in Code of the Clans, Graywing, the Riverclan medicine cat, was visited by the ghosts of three kittens who had died in the gorge. They were "grown" up into the cats they would have become in life: two warriors and a future leader. So kits can occasionally apparently age or change their form, whether intentionally or not, but it's probably rare or was just a random one-off thing one of the Erins had schemed and was forgotten about.

Spiderleg was Daisy’s mate (briefly), and Ferncloud’s son! Also his name is Spiderleg because he has long legs, though the visual of a cat with legs like a spider makes me shudder.

id really recommendb talking about tallstar, i think his character arc was very interesting in tallstars revenge, especially with the plot points of how he believed he had to leave the clans, and the way his mind worked about new things such as woollytail getting with palebird and sandgorses murder and with how he treated the other clans and blaming himself for everything it was very interesting and id like to see you elaborate further on his character

He is such a cool guy, in concept. I wish they'd do more with him, but personally I don't want a novella about his life because part of his allure is that no one (not even Snowtuft) remembers what his crimes were. There's something so interesting about that to me, like, the idea that if a character were to help him or become his friend, they'll have to accept that they are never going to know what he did. It could have been nothing, it could have been the worst act they can imagine. No one will ever know. It brings to mind questions about the nature of punishment and guilt, not to mention identity.
Why don't you talk about Tree? He was a huge... plot point(?) in vision of shadows for just knowing Needletail (I forgot why i haven't read that series in about 2 months now) and he could summon and talk to ghosts. In Squirrelflight's hope we find out that he was born to one of the Sisters and doesn't really like them. When he goes to visit the Sisters to try to get them to move, he tries his best to not snap at Moonlight. I think he's a very interesting character. Tree sees Squirrelflight when she is not dead, but not alive. (I'm too lazy to add anything else) (I've reposted this from the mothflight video.

For some reason I’ve always found him pretty interesting
Something i thought about for a little bit was that Snowtuft seemed to have very little reason to be in the Dark Forest. He obviously is way nicer in comparison to other power-hungry rulers. So i want to propose the theory that because Snowtuft can't remember his crime, that there is no crime at all and Starclan is just dumb and way too logical in regards to their rules. Perhaps Snowtuft was ambitious for power or something similar but in a right way? Perhaps a Shadowclan leader turned tyrant and Snowtuft wanted to take that power from the clan leader himself. So he plotted to gain the leaders trust and become deputy to attempt to take all the leaders nine lives and become leader himself to right the old leaders wrongs. But Snowtuft was found out and killed when he got this huge scar, and since Starclan deemed his ambitious rise to leadership as evil he got punished for trying to become a leader and save his clan from an already evil tyrant. He interprets this as a rightful punishment perhaps after years of influence the Dark Forest has given him and bends him towards evil, warping his personality and virtues. Maybe he is in some way related to Blackstar due to the similar Shadowclan lineage and primary pelt colors being white or mostly white.
This is all speculation of course! I just thought it was an interesting outlook.

I feel like this would end up being a mini-talking but a character I don't see talked about much is Antpelt. Antpelt really didn't get much characterisation apart from being another clan cat tricked into joining the DF guys but I've always liked him.
What was the actual point of Snowtuft? Why did they bother introducing the idea of sympathetic Dark Forest cats if they:
A) Permanently erased Snowtuft _and_ the other sympathetic DF cats anyway
B) Established that none of these cats would have gotten a place in StarClan, even though they helped save StarClan from the mess it caused?
I think more cats in dawn of the clans need to be talked about like considering greywing, clearstar/skyOr thunder star/thunder

I think you could either talk about sweetpaw or rowanberry and nutwhisker. Although sweetpaw is only featured through half of Bluestar’s prophecy, she has a lot going for her, if I’m correct she was named after pinestar’s mother sweetbriar, she was thornclaws littermate. And she was literally buried alive! Rowanberry and nutwhisker are Yellowfang’s siblings and we’re a good support for Yellowfang, mostly rowanberry, she was nightstar’s mother and when Yellowfang was exiled she was really the only one who protested.
How about Stormfur? I think he would be interesting because he was on the journey, he moved to the tribe of rushing water and more. It'd be pretty cool to see that.

Yeah, Snowkit is not Snowtuft. Not only is it stated multiple times kits never grow up, and dark forest cats don't either, this theory is already debunked. But The Broken Code debunked it even more because Snowtuft literally said that he vaguely remembered being really bad during his life, which is why he, get this, *deserved* to be in the Dark Forest. He wasn't lured there, he got there by being a bad cat. Sure he might have been wimpy in the Dark Forest, but not in his living state! And who would think innocent, deaf little Snowkit who went to StarClan could be that? Just because their both *common* white cats and have the *common* snow prefix doesn't mean they are automatically the same cat. I don't think they are the same cat, and the evidence proves it. Though, people can have their AUs about them, I won't stop them. Just know, there is a 99% chance they are *not* the same cat.
Idea: what if Snowtuft was like Ivypool- a living cat training in the dark forest? He would then be killed when he was cut open, but continue training as a ghost?

I'd love to hear about Goosefeather. He was viewed as insane by the majority of his clan, and I kind of understand it. He never told anyone about his powers.
If not him, maybe Moonflower? She lived a kind of sad life, and then, after she died, she must've watched over her daughters and seen everything Bluestar went through.
Anyway, I love these two so much. They're probably my favorite characters.

•Plays a major part in RavenPaws Farewell

I think you should talk about hawkfrost. He had much wasted potential and I think he’d be a very interesting character to talk about. He’s one of those characters that is used as a pawn to make brambleclaw look like the good guy in every scenario with him. Idk I think he could have his character explored more
