    This is so important.
When you feel yourself sucked in to hating or spewing vitriol at another group you deem as less than/worse/more immoral than yourself, you’re likely in the thick of a neurological trap.
In other words, you’re being played.
Take your power back. Do not let them play you. That’s what they want.

That is why anger and agression is supported by dopamine system as means to improve the survival rate of the individuals. People have to become kinder. Kindness, compassion towards others are the key and have to be tought from the earliest age possible.

In the end - there are big politics, and big truths, and big ideas. But all of it, always, has to go through our very limited human mental and emotional systems. And in this we are united as humans, more than in anything else.
We are united at being incessantly meaning making, dopamine seeking, tranquility averse, trauma shaped, perpetually lazy creatures. With tremendous hidden potential for divine transcendence and barrier breaking love, just to make us more confusing and precious.

War plans are the blueprint of our society. Strategy in business and science model. The gathering of data to information and the observant being an influence on what’s seen/ how what’s seen appears. So if we are rewarded for what we believe, and we are already a kind person, then we will be rewarded when we reinforce those beliefs as well. So the important step to take is cultivate that belief in our learnings early on instead of pushing fear and anger that the MSM is doing.
Dopamine from the habit of kindness not the habit of anger.
"An addiction to entrenched thinking" is a good survival mechanism. The goal then is to choose and train better thinking from a young age.
Huberman's interpretation that it is always bad vs good is only the outcome of that thought being habituated. He is not talking big picture solution. Why is he not doing that?
Lastly, he knows from working with Dr Seigel, that Hypnosis can help create this change. Why not mention it like he did EMDR?

    • @merin5230
      @merin5230 Před 10 měsíci +3

Probably because it's more appropriate for a different discussion. This was a short , easy to remember for non scientifically qualified people, info byte that the layman can remember and apply.
      One subject at time.
Especially valuable for the neurodiverse, who have the intelligence to understand, including all the big words, but other things that can come with that neurodiversity, can also inhibit imprinting into memory. Only short bursts work. And we are so very grateful that The Huberman takes that into account.
And just to be clear, and I'm sure you're not in this group, there are those that think ADHD is laziness and bad behaviour and autistic person is retarded. They're still out there ,I assure you. We are often very smart, above the "normal" bell curve count, and very creative. But need smaller doses of information . Not our fault, we're wired that way.
      Albert Einstein had ADHD.
      So does Richard Branson.
And if you rembwr or know about The Enigma Machine that cracked the German codes in ww2, Turin was ,I believe ,autistic, though probably undiagnosed.
Many of our great scientists , artists, engineers, mathematicians, medical specialists and researchers are on the spectrum. We need them. Badly.
But we operate differently. That's all.
So it's worth giving consideration like this, and I'm eternally grateful. Diagnosed with ADHD at 57. Able to tolerate the medication, Bupropion and ritalin, and suddenly awake. Now I know I'm the way I am. And it's not my fault. I couldn't manage university at the usual age, but I can now. So I'm at college. And I've just set up an ADHD support group at that college. And now things are changing. But I have to measure out my energy carefully. Because having ADHD, and , in my case CPTSD too,(not uncommon for my age group), is exhausting. Crashing fatigue is a major indicator of ADHD or trauma or depression. So if you see this and think someone's lazy, or swinging the lead, pause a moment. Give them space, and quietly say, do you need a hand with something? Can I help? You may well be amazed .
Once more. Huge shout out to The Huberman, and the many clinical psychiatrists and psychologists and councilors who give all this advice free. I can honestly say, they saved my life.
Thank you Huberman. You are appreciated more than I can say.
      X

@@merin5230 The question isn't about length of information so much as it is about correct information. Do you want to learn something that's incorrect or misleading?
In the first case, his point of view is shortsighted. His communication suggests not that he only has time to speak about the negative but that there is no positive aspect. This would leave the listener with incorrect information.
In the second case, by omitting information he limits and misinforms as well.
Lastly, based on your personal description of your situation, I suggest you seek out a Hypnotherapist/Hyonotist with experience in your conditions. You don't have to be on meds or suffer at all. I can tell you with 100% certainty a good practitioner can help you. 🙏

A war or famine or "fill in the blank" has happened 1000 times over right? In order to survive we have had to adjust to extremes. Singing "kumbaya" in times like that won't help our survival.
