In 1998, Capcom held the official Street Fighter Zero 3 (also known as Alpha 3 in the USA) tournament. More than 10,000 players participated. Here is Part 1 of 6 from the television program.

Damn! I didn't know that Street Fighter Alpha 3 was highly popular in Japan in 98'. The 90's era kicks ass. I wish there was a tournament like that today. I miss the 90's.
Oh man if I had been as skilled back in the day at Alpha 3 as I am now, I would’ve rocked this tournament! Also Japan in 98 must have been so much fun!

Kanto is based on a region in Japan. And yes, Pokemon references it as it's setting at one point. Although it's accuracy in landscape is dodgy at best.
Tomo is a myth, never competed outside the US and was just hyped by other players.

kansai is the name for osaka region - western capital
way back when japan was divided into daimyo.

From what ive read, the game is severely unbalanced when using the Pre ST characters, so Tomo would have a significant advantage before even starting play. This is why ST is still tourney standard, and not HSF 2.
@BeckTropical ive been to italy, i do like the US better, i was simply saying i like how they do game tournaments there, they just seem so hard core there, that was back in the day before i went to evo and things like that.....it wasnt that serious....people are so literal....
