- The Boston Bruins have been exposed to a brand NEW angle of the Sam Bennett sucker punch on Brad Marchand revealing a MUCH clearer view that it was in fact a sucker punch and not just a hit. Don Sweeney and the Boston Bruins community have posed questions as to why this angle was not shown immediately after the game when it was available immediately. Sam Bennett found himself in controversy again however after scoring a goal which was clearly goaltender interference after cross-checking Charlie Coyle into Jeremy Swayman not allowing him to make the save. Don Sweeney has requested that the referees should be forced to be interviewed post games.

The Department of Player Safety needs to look at this. That was 100 percent intentional and meant to injure. If the roles were reversed Marchand would be suspended several games. When plays like this happen with no consequence it becomes open season on the ice. As for cross checking Coyle into Swayman, that was another blown call only this one was out in the open for all to see. I’m all for good sportsmanship but somebody needs to take a number and cash out the tab on Bennett.

i hate being that guy but marchand HAS been on the other side of this and gotten away with it multiple times. yes there is loads of times where he does get suspended but he does often get away with greasy plays like this

Yes it changed the momentum in the game. It doesn’t matter how many shots on goal all that matters is the ones that go in. The Marchand sucker punch and they only show that 48 hours later, well there’s something wrong with the officiating, crooked refs in a high stakes game. Sounds like gambling to me.
Reffing runs in the family and we know the pressure on the refs and try to not get mad at them but the reffing in this series was so horrific we have never seen worse reffing before

Yes this call changed the outcome. Of course it did. The Bs were coming off a penalty kill then threw a challenge and lost that challenge. Another 2 min penalty. That challenge penalty provided the go a head goal. Take the interference goal away there is no challenge and the game is still a 1-1 game. That goal changed the game. I’m not saying the Bs would have won but it most certainly affected the out come of the game
I've always hated the "shots on goal" argument...
You could get out-shot 100-1 and still WIN if you score and they don't.
To say SOG is all that matters and the score doesn't is ridiculous ffs...

Shots on goal comments are made by Professional Analysts of Hockey... people who should all work for the League...
Didn't have much of an impact on the game? Tying the game up in the 3rd period didn't have much of an impact? The player who scored sucker punched your captain who is out of the line up, no discipline, no impact on the game? Refs then call goalie interference on Geekie with Bobrovski going down like he was shot with a .45 when Geekie backed into him with little force. No goal scored on that play but there sure was when Bennett cross checked Coyle into Swayman. Sure goalie interference on Geekie was goalie interference but so was Bennett's which resulted in a goal. But not much of an impact.....

As fuckin ridiculous as this has been, I'm more concerned at the lack of response by the Bruins organisation firstly, on the ice and secondly, why is Sweeney more concerned about not getting fined than actually looking after his captain? This is as inexcusable as the lack of action from the league, this is a disgrace for both the league AND sadly, the Bruins organisation :(

With gambling sites out the wazoo, & professional leagues pushing gambling constantly during broadcasts. Is it really a coincidence there have been so many BS calls in important games & playoffs, in all sports? Or has Big Gambling taken over the outcome of games too?
File a report with the FBI or CBI if you live in Canada. I did. There are many reports made to them regarding this issue already. It is a class A felony for any official or their family or close associates to bet on any NHL game, even preseason games.
They got outshot, but their goals per shot had been much higher than panthers.
The team didn't take matters in to their own hands. Sweeney is a dawn queenie. As far as the broadcast goes, the regular season broadcast had a retired official discussion in game action

So apparently what he actually had to say was that he asked the media to stop asking the players and coaches about the officiating and suggested that if they wanted comments about it that they ask They officials themselves. Which is a pretty subtle way of saying he disagrees. Hardly put the league on blast.
Bennett should have been suspended for the sucker punch however his 2-2 goal last night is legit based on rule 69.7: In a rebound situation, or where a goalkeeper and attacking player(s) are simultaneously attempting to play a loose puck, whether inside or outside the crease, incidental contact with the goalkeeper will be permitted, and any goal that is scored as a result thereof will be allowed.

Although I agree with your statement of them being over played, that goal made the absolute difference. Like you I also played sports and not just that call, butt through the playoffs,the Bruins have been on penalty kill ,some their fault some not. That power play to begin with, was an absolute flop the missed call on Marchand,no call no discipline, the game before, got called for goaltender interference on Lauko , when let's be honest he was held. I am saying this is a hockey fan not a Bruins fan. There's only so much you can take without getting your air sucked out. After a while, it gets frustrating and affects your game. Then you add that Marchand can't even sneeze on somebody without getting a penalty. The NHL officials are a disgrace to professional sports.
Bennett didn't wind up to deliver the blow, just caught Marchand on the sweet spot. Definitely a dirty play and should have been punishable, however I've seen more vicious slashes and cross checks from behind during this 2024 playoffs.
Player safety would have suspended and fined Marchand if the roles were reversed…the no call on goalie interference is insane ..I don’t think the outcome would have been much different they’re not playing their best hockey at times but it definitely changes the momentum and ya never know !! That goal changed the outcome of the game if that goal doesn’t get allowed the bruins still up 2-1 that get momentum after the challenge even if the panthers score it’s 2-2 so what overtime the bruins could of won it 3-2 it should of been 2-1 not 2-2 even the panthers later we could of still win in overtime it’s this calls that change the outcome of the game so much this series could be 2-2 but the refs 3-1 I would not been as mad if they ot if you want the rule go to 69 in the nhl rule book and we be shocked that this is a goal… 😮😮

This is why the Bruins aren't winning. Have they had a few calls go against them? Sure, but the problem is that instead of focusing on the upcoming game and tactics on how to score they spend the days off trying to headhunt and go at the Panthers players; Marchand in Game 3 and Maroon, Pastrnak, Coyle, etc. in Game 4. Bruins are focused on the wrong things and Panthers are focused on winning the next game.

I just reported the last two games to the FBI cyber crimes unit and you should too. It's a class A felony for players, OFFICIALS, or anyone that works for the NHL or an NHL team to bet money on an NHL or affiliate game. My call was quick.... there were already over ''several dozen'' calls about the NHL officials this past week, and they are taking it seriously. If you bet money on that game also, call the FBI and file a report. They will act on it, as the Canadian Bureau of Investigations work directly with the FBI all the time. Furthermore, shots on goal numbers mean fuck-all. Boston was up 2-0 when the shots were 4-12. How many of those shots were blocked? How many posts did we hit? How many shots just missed the net after beating Bobfagsky? I'm over all this bullshit.
