@@JT-qc9nb Truth
If demand is so high that every card made sells no matter price, then competition hardly matters. Nvidia and AMD can keep pumping out the same cards without innovation until the market finally gets saturated enough that buyers (not miners, but actual PC gamers/enthusiasts) will be more selective. In other words, there's not as much pressure from the market to innovate right now as there was pre-covid, so don't be surprised if they (Nvidia and AMD) drag their feet.
Yeah... shit just makes me salty seeing every hardware video popping up like "HUR DUR DOES ZEN 3 BE BOTTLENECKING 3090?!?!"

@@JustAGuy85 it's preposterous.
2022? Talk about optimism! (from Year 2030) :)
When this gen is available next gen will be out and sold out as well.
Edit: There is still a year or two till the next gen is announced I'm just saying that I don't think we'll have cards anytime soon. Cards are getting sold to miners so when we finally can get these cards the new cards will come out and then they will be rare to find at a reasonable price so the older cards will go up in price again.

When you mentioned those fan headers and the mobo control, I was really intrigued. I'd love to see a video about case fan control! Software, hardware, setup tricks and tips. You do all those build videos, but the fan setup is rarely mentioned beyond how many fans you install.
as someone who struggles to control and manage 19 fans in a case this would be much appreciated.
I have a Corsair Commander Pro in my case. I run an open loop with a water temp sensor. With the commander pro, I have one rad set to adjust fan speeds according to the CPU temp and the other (2 360s) set to adjust fan speed according to the water temp. The reason I have one rad synced to the CPU is because the CPU doesn't put out enough heat to change the water temp by much at all. The GPU will quickly increase the water temp. The commander pro is a pain to cable manage and it isn't cheap but it does give you lots of options for fan and lighting control.
He did do one years ago that should still be applicable to today. Just search Speedfan in Jayz videos.

I picked up this card just a few days ago. Shop near me had one left from the shipment that morning. Maintains temps like a dream! Majority of games I've tested it with have all been running and looking their possible best. Have noticed some coil whine but it calmed down after a day or so. And after tweaking my systems fan speeds some the whole thing is pretty quiet. Now here is where things get a bit weird. A handful of games, with Red Dead Online being the largest aggressor, will super spin my fans like they're trying to make my rig take off. I mean LOUD. When I look to see what percent of the card is being used its going 99%. This also doesn't change when game settings are turned down to potato mode. I'm not sure if this is some sort of build error on my part or if RDO is just that poorly optimized but it had me really concerned. Even after tinkering with fan speeds and curves it ramps up to 100 soon as the game world loads in.

Get a kingpin 3090.
@J G You are correct , I have this exact card and it seems to hit the wall when OC to 2700-2750 GHZ and temps are in the low 50s , power limit is holding this card back .
@J G I just want a 360 so it'd look super clean in my o11 dynamic
@J G yea seems like a custom would be the way to go, but would be nice if they could offer 360mm hybrid cards
@@michaelstrickland838 Yeah I have this card too and I can get it to 2.7ghz 100% stable. 2.77ghz is the highest I can get it without it immediately crashing but isn't 100% stable. 2.7 and below is and like you say it maintains temps in the low 50s inside my case with it's default fan profile.
What were those strange results you were getting on the other 6900 XT? Should I be concerned with my Sapphire Nitro plus 6900 XT?
no the strange results jay was getting was an anomaly and every other tech channel hasn't had issues.
@@topspeedracingleague7274 do you know what the anomaly was? I just want to make sure the same thing isn't happening to me and I don't know about it.
And here I am just being super grateful I got a powercolour fighter 6800 for retail after a long backorder. Now I kind of wish I would have just held on, because a water cooled video card would be a lot of fun.
When you can finally buy it the next gen of cards will already be out.
already be out of stock, you mean?
Scored the 6900XT version of this card from Newegg tonight. Can't wait!
What are you pairing it with ?
This specific card and the 6900XT version of it are the two cards I'm considering upgrading to. I have two EVGA FTW3 Hybrid 1080 TIs and the AIO tubes are just barely long enough to mount the radiators in the front of a Corsair Obsidian 750D Airflow Edition provided I mount the radiators to the fans to the chassis.
I have this card with the radiator mounted on the front as air intake. I also have another aio for the cpu mounted on the top as exhaust. It actually worked really well for my case. I made a 30 second video if you want to see how I did it. czcams.com/video/ujmJAxb26ow/video.html
1:54 you need this in every video lol.
I'm not exactly understanding what "Resizable BAR" is and does. Does anyone have an easy to understand explanation? Thanks.
A Base Address Register is the physical address for VRAM, typically the vram shown to the cpu is 256MB. It's not much. When vram is increased a cpu can tell the GPU to do more work (1gb /vram) without queuing the jobs up. It might increase speeds a bit. And it might not.
Fun fact: the coordinates on the GPU shroud actually point to ASUS HQ in Taiwan :)
*Jay puts aio cooler as high as possible *still someone "YoU'rE MoUnTiNg iT wRoNg!!!"

"Those are not zip ties...those are TWEEZERS!"
Are they ZIP TIES or TWEEZERS? That is the question.
THEY ARE FREAKING ZIP TIES, AAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRGGGGGGG
Cable ties. They are called cable ties.
They're tweezers, you need to use them with the livestrong bracelet, table, thermal paste, and cpu applicator
@@pyramidschemer4083 You forgot the pen knife, which might have a screw driver
@@phifflon and screw in with confidence! Like screw right into the radiator

It was not long between the 20-series super cards and the 30-series cards, the 40- series is probably designed , tested and being held onto.
Back in November, I was excited to try out AMD this time around for my 6-year delayed PC build, and then the apocalypse of availability happened, and AMD came up just a bit short of NVIDIA's performance. There's probably going to be months of delay before I can get either brands' cards. What is a decent placeholder (either brand) for sub-$300? Looking at maybe holding off for more than a year, until whatever next gen is to see if AMD actually catches up.
More info: Got a 5600x, mobo, PSU, case all sitting in a box, and GPU and memory are my remaining purchases.
You can get anything now. Did you?
@@mookrules5087 I settled for a 1660 super for $295 during February, before everything became sold out. Just going to run with it until prices dip for previous gen as the next generation of GPUs get to market :/
Your results show the RTX 3080 beating the 6800xt on all games at 1080p yet nearly everyone else results show that the 6800xt beats the 3080 at 1080p and even 1440p due to driver overhead?
Driver overhead is due to poor CPU. Those results don't look the same when using a good CPU like 10900k
Being a blower card it's ideally suited to being vertically mounted. If you can get a suitable PCI-E 4.0 riser cable.
EXACTLY. Leave Britney, I mean Jay, alone. He's helping us.
He's just a hooman!
