      not quite. There are instances where outside ashi is favourable. The main one is when you are attempting to break from an outside heel hook - the outside ashi allows for you to exert a tremendous amount of external rotation on the knee, coupling this with the lifting of the heel hook grip towards your own chin results in rather impressive breaking pressure
