It's been a while since we've tested a Bark river Knife on this channel. Nonetheless, we still love those knives! It's the brand that introduced us to CPM 3V! @@user-xx5zl8dz1v well that was just a way of telling them a compliment. I always had a good knife on me as my dad is a former special forces soldier. But I didn’t know much about the different steels for example.
Now you can join me on an exploration in Antarctica and we’ll see who will carry who mate. Easy to say from fat people sitting at the bottom of their couch. Now just enjoy the videos and live your lazy life mate.

For a big knife like that you need a really good grippy handle. I have a Silky 240 Nata double bevel and the grip of the handle is super amazing.

I had the bravo 2 for 4 years now and its been an outstanding knife. Bark river makes some nice stuff.
The BR Bravo 3 is an absolute beast. I just did a review comparing all my fixed blades and the Bravo 3 outperformed all by a huge margin. Because of its weight and blade geometry it does better than most medium sized hatchets and axes. Good content as always!
I wouldn't have gotten a 3v bark river if it wasnt for all the DBK vids gushing over it. Now Im on dlt pre-order for the magnacut bravo. Thanks DBK for feeding another addition. Merry Christmas boys.

I once dropped a Canon point-and shoot fully into a stingray pool at an aquarium. Immediately took out the battery, immersed the camera in rice when I got home, and it still works fine to this day. I'm not sure if this is valid or not, but my instinct when it got wet was to prevent any electrical current whatsoever from running through it.

How come it is hard for you to be a knife enthusiast living in the UK? Are you not allowed to lent certain knives over there? I’m in the US and I’m not familiar with UK laws
@@1mataleo1 in the UK any knife thats not a less than 3" non locking foldable keyring is classed as an offensive weapon so the British mentality on knives is generally 'arrrgghh he's got a knife ruuunnn'. Its kinda stupid. Essentially if im Bushcrafting with a knife in the woods and a dog walker comes walking by then im likely to be face with a police armed response unit coming to get me as that very British dog walker will have called the police reporting a knife weilding maniac in the woods. It can be quite ridiculous.

I have a Bravo 1. It's a gorgeous knife that retains it's edge beautifully but even at that length it's too heavy to pack around.

When I get anything electronic wet and it starts acting funky, I heat my oven and when I can feel the stove top has become warm enough but not warm enough to melt or damage the device, I place it on the stove and let the warmth radiating from the stove dry out the device. Works everytime.
I think to be fare that maybe after the first try of the test the knife dulled and should have been stropped or sharpend to have a fair try.
Would love to see a spyderco darn dao tested. I just got one today number 1150 of 1200

My suggestion on how to make the handle less slippery, because it is Micarta after all so it should become more stable in hand when wet. Always, whenever possible, get a matte finish Micarta, not a polished one, and if it is polished, take a low grit sand paper to it to knock that polish down she... Yes, it will add scratches to the pins and exposed tang, but if one intends to use it as it was built to be used, it will get pretty beat up on its own. I have done this to all my Bark River knives as I believe function over fashion is always the superior way to approach life in general.... Fuck Vanity!!!

As someone who shoots videos for money I have some honest opinions I feel I have to say:
I'm only 4 minutes into the vid yet I already feel the "backup" camera gives a better result than your recent previous videos. The only noticeable drawback is the much worse rolling shutter, which is a bit annoying, but is okay given it must be much cheaper than a Canon cine cam. I have to say a reliable Autofocus and a wider angle lens makes all the differences:
1, With a wide angle lens, the viewer get the whole picture of the figure and what he's doing. More importantly, wide angles are much, much less prone to focus pulls and shaky footages. So even if you shoot handheld or without a gimbal, it doesn't matter all that much. However if you shoot with 50mm handheld w/o stabilizer that'd give audiences some massive headache.
2, For CZcams contents, reliable autofocus is paramount to a successful video. Normally, unless for specific B-roll effects, out-of-focus footages are the FIRST to be removed during the 1st round of editing. For cine cams, however, since they're normally used with dedicated focus pullers, their AF performance may not be on par with the best video mirrorless cameras. Yes I'm talking about the Sony A7s3 / Fx3 duo. There is a reason why people are paying $800+ more than its MSRP just to get one. It's AF is THAT good, and a good AF is THAT important to small-production CZcams content creators.
I always loved your contents. Impartial, fun, unique, and informative. I just feel you can really benefit from a few technical points in video production.
Capsaicin Is not water soluble. So full fat milk will absorb some of the hot but something with even more fat is better. Maybe even a shot of oil swished in your mouth.
If you ever make the mistake of cutting a lot of peppers without gloves soak your hands in vegetable oil to remove the pain.
Poor micky, if im not wrong, there was a video that you said you were diagnosed with inflammatory bowel disease because of the carolina reaper. And i heard its a lifetime disease. This is my tip for eating spicy foods, drink lots of milk/water before & after eating. I think Milk is better because it coats the bowel with this some kind of slime?? Im not 100% sure if this works because its just a Theory that i came up with. But im inclined to think that it works because as far as i can remember i've never had any horrible stomachache after eating any super spicy food by using this theory
Those Carolina Reaper chips are super delicious lol. I bought a huge bag of it and couldn't stop eating. I never bought it again because it was too addictive.

Put the cam in a bag with rice grains, that will hopefully dry out all the humidity from the cam. Otherwise you can make a tech paella with it.

Seems like a Barkriver 2 might be better to actually carry for minor chopping tasks and larger batoning (I'd probably go A2 for those task myselfs, cheaper for something that doesn't need to keep a razor edge).

For added grip on the handle i highly recommend Suretouch i have it on my Bark River JX5 and it works great im getting it on all my future choppers.
I agree with you on that only thing I dislike about suretouch is it gets gritty with wood chips and dust while in heavy use and get kind of annoying but never loses grip

Guys, put your camera in a sealed bag of dry rice over night. It may draw out the moisture. Whether your camera works properly or not is up for grabs but this trick worked on my phone when I was caught in a downpour on a crime scene one day, long ago, in a galaxy far far away.

Guys i noticed something. My wedding ring is titanium and it scratches glass VERY easily.
Even by best chef's knife cannot scratch glass easily. Test some titanium knives boys! I bet theyre sharp as f*ck
