February 6, 1997-Mike And The Mad Dog (WFAN)

-This is just a random segment of Mike And The Mad Dog from the back end of a tape I found that aired 20 years ago. They talk about the NBA and also the matter of Bill Parcells becoming Jets coach (which was in a state of limbo at the time). Nothing too significant, but its a chance to hear what listening to them was like back in the day with the 20/20 update, the "FAN Highway Patrol" and also the ad copy both had to do, so consider this more a slice of a typical Mike and the Mad Dog program from a typical day rather than about a big sports event as previous uploads have been about.
(NOTE-This is the last piece of vintage Francesa/Russo material I have from prior to 2006. Any future uploads of them would be interviews they did from items that were downloaded originally from the WFAN website).

Chris Russo is absolutely right. Its not like the Spurs will face the Knicks in a big game. Who knows, they can get the coveted first pick, and as long as they pick Duncan, they may find themselves playing the Knicks in the Finals in a few years! Hell, the Spurs may even see the Nets a few years after! I bet Duncan wins Finals mvp and with Admiral, raises the trophy at center court, MSG

This was when Belichick was named as coach pending the effort to get Parcells as coach in 97 as opposed to the 2000 when he pulled his about-face and bolted..
