Only a few military aircraft seem to be trackable, at least over the UK. I've seen a few fly overhead that weren't on the sites. I guess they pick and choose which ones are visible. :-)

This is prolly much different to how AIS tracking works for vessels on the sea, I look at those sites far more than flight trackers but both are very interesting nonetheless

Sadly, in some regions (say: India)... intercepting even normal radio communications of aviation is fraught with legal challenges.
Do not know if non authorised personnel or an enthusiast lay person can be allowed to capture these details legally.

That means, If Indian government enforces that law, Flightradar24 can not function anymore in India. Thus, matter of time.

I seriously want to help with this but since I don't own the house I cannot install the device needed on the rooftop. But as soon as I can I'm absolutely going to volunteer to help. Being a gold member every so often I actually like exploring the flights. At one time I saw Google's balloon project in the air. The wifi network it uses. But it's pretty much gone now

I had randomly caught Air Force 2 (obv not its transponder code when not flying the vice president) landing at Andrews during the Pandemic, was looking it up on there and they were using it to fly in the vaccine and other medical supplies. Was rather cool to see!
