In the 1960s we used to approach the way you did with our towed outfit, the site was a grass field with a toilet block centrally positioned, with showers, toilet emptying and washbasins. No electric hookups or hardstandings. The warden had the usual garden shed office from which he organised daily milk and newspapers, delivered to the van at quiet times, otherwise to be collected. There was gas available on site, too. Used to love an early walk to the sea front into Sutton along the sea front then back for breakfast, I was early teens then & my parents work meant we could come here Saturday evening to Sunday once every couple of weeks or so. Easter was always a challenge in a 9ft Sprite 400 with just a 2 ring cooker and gas lighting. I remember the big ‘derelict’ house when it looked at it’s best. And when we first used to visit the railway still ran past the site as well!
That was interesting, we almost stayed there last week when visiting friends in Alford. In the end we stayed at a hotel in Alford so we were closer to their home. We could have stayed in our van in the car park but my husband said we should stay in the hotel. I thought the van would have been cosier! We didn’t get to Sutton on Sea we went to Huttoft beach instead this time. Thanks for sharing another interesting video.

Thanks Trev, Libby is doing fine, the vet says she is healing nicely. Still on short walks for another week. We will have to go back so Linda Chloe and Libby can enjoy the beach. 👍Malcolm

Sorry Sandy for the delay in getting back to you. The beach is dog friendly. Our little dog hates the waves.
