I think that the best cover of La Bamba is by a band called "Los Lobos." The electric guitar solo in the middle of the track is just the best ever. Los Lobos also do an acoustic version on You Tube.

A friend of mine has a Jazzmaster and I really like how it played, sounded, and looked. I saw a used one at Guitar Center and really liked it so I bought it. I don’t have a lot of experience with the Jaguar although the pickups in the JM seem more versatile to my ears. Sorry, I don’t make custom backing tracks at the moment.
