Good luck lad. Thanks for being so clear and concise about the whole process. Hopefully all goes smoothly from here on and that alot of us watching this can be visiting in future!
I admire your patience. I’ve often thought this country is going backwards, and this proves it. Keep going and don’t give up, even though it’s probably going to cost a fortune!
It's unbelievable! Well done on getting it done and even more so for highlighting it and discussing it all so clearly. Very interesting. Great job!
I’ve been following you on Instagram because of cars for years, and as an avid angler it’s great to see you doing what many of us dream of!
I think all these people work together to make as much money as possible
Wow that is mind blowing what you need to get, you have a great deal of patience mate. Well done keep it up and look forward to part 3 👌🏻
Been looking forward to your update on this, this will be fantastic for what you have planned
Good luck Ben can’t wait to see how your lake progresses enjoying your blogs 👍
Fingers crossed mate! Cant wait to book a peg on your fishery!
That's insane!! Good luck. looking forward to part 3
Defiantly all in each other's back pockets.!!!
Well done, loving the videos.. Keep the momentum going...
Subbed great to see the journey and all access to what it actually takes,
“He who dares wins”
Best of luck to you
Great insight Ben. You can see why some just wing it but you are doing it right. I’ve got a natural pond in my garden and would love to have my own private fishing pond in a paddock next to our garden. Even though it would be a private venture it’s the planning that is putting me off at the moment. I’m in the middle of a house extension and had a similar series of issues over a bat survey. The lady who came almost immediate found evidence of bats in our loft (very old cottage) so that as you can imagine started the ball rolling. Red tape, lotsa gotchas and lotsa fees! Eventually got the go ahead but the final p’take, after thousands of pounds fir surveys, a final charge of £500 just for the piece of paper that says I can go ahead!
Good luck Ben ! U absolutely deserve to get the go ahead & hopefully u will have a successful & profitable Angling venue for many years in the future! Look forward to hearing good news on your next video part 3 !
Great stuff very informative. Good luck with it!
Brilliant update Ben,it really doesn’t surprise me how ridiculous the process is in this country in order to get things done.
Having to to get multiple surveys done in order to just to get another survey is absolutely insane 🤯
I have seen how many hoops and challenges Jeremy Clarkson has had to jump through with his farm.
I bet the UK Govt didn’t have to wait this long to get the green light for the whole HS2 process 🤷♂️
(Backhanders 💰💰💰)
Massive respect for your patience and i think most of us would have given up and gone for a ready made lake without all this faff 🤣
Looking forward to the next update and hopefully the next video will be finally getting the first spade (Digger bucket) into the ground 🤞
Good luck Ben. Loving your channel.
Thank you for sharing this journey, I think we all dream about building our own lakes but have no idea about the financial implications and obstacles involved to get that green light!
I should have trained to be a 'Newt Surveyor', it seems that's where the money is! 😄 🤣
I'm a builder and have to deal / wait for many, not all of these silly VERY costly surveys. Keep going, don't stop. You've done so well, I've followed you from the start. Intact, I almost want to come to your lake to fish, but I'm a salt water angler....at the moment. Don't stop your great work.
Hopefully it will become easer know !
Hard boarding stuff done , looking forward to the future 👍
Thanks keep up the good work
Those shots of Tuckers are ace - looking forward to the opening!
Goodluck mate Hope you get planning permission can't wait for it to start
Looking forward to seeing a hole in the ground in part 3. I’m sure you will need to have a ‘hole’ survey so budget for that too. After everything I just heard I hope you make a million. You deserve it!
Been waiting for part 2 😂 sounds like you have had a proper headache mate . Fingers crossed for you 🙏 😊
Subscribed need to watch this from start to finish 👏
Good luck with your planning.
Let's hope it goes through
Best of luck mate, well done holding back some of the sarcasm you could have done on this ridiculous process. Great insight into what it takes to do a project like this. look forward to the next one.
Keep going Ben you will get there despite the official obstacles :)
I’d like to hope after all that they give you planning permission. Fully invested to this journey!
hopefully you will get the digging started soon. hopefully il be able to fish it as it opens fingers crossed
Fingers crossed big man hopefully in the future I’ll be booking on the lake
I admire your fortitude and wallet. Well done
Looking forward to fish it mate 🎣👍
Fascinating! You’ve got nerves of steel to put up with all that crap… Good luck with the application!!!
Good luck. I can't wait to see the lake
Thanks Johan!
Wow what a carry on best of luck pal
Always the way mate, take weeks and weeks whenever you need something but when anyone require stuff from you it has to be immediately with no breathing room 🤣🤣
Good job mate, look forward to the next episode 👊👊
I'm not building anything as cool as a lake but am in the process of buying another house. I sooo can relate to all the freeking time wasted in the too and frow filling forms and weeks WaIting to hear. Oh and as to mention, the e mails to chase where you get out of office notifications. AHHHH. Enjoying the vids so far.
Hope all goes well for you in the future takes a lot of time and money just to get the go ahead.
I’ve allways wanted to do this thanks for sharing it
I’m utterly gobsmacked by what you’ve been through both financially and emotionally. It seems there’s a lot of University graduates making a bloody good living from the ‘green agenda’ who’ve never lived on the land. Looking for newt pee across a kilometre span seems utterly ridiculous. If they stopped draining wetlands to build houses we might have a few more. As a kid, in the eighties, a lot of people had garden ponds and they were all full of newts. These ponds created a network for the species and they thrived. Heaven forbid your lake actually attracts newts, what with it being filled with water!
Honestly, I admire your conviction and resilience. Fingers crossed for you🤞🏻
Thanks Richard, great comment, fully agree
Fantastic insight great video 👍🏼👍🏼🎣🎣
Smashing it Ben!! Can’t wait to see the digger work.. just start the dig could always put the surveyors in the hole if not granted 😂😅😅
The test hole will just become bigger bit by bit 🤣
Good luck. I hope you get permission after doing everything correctly 👍
I love your videos mate
Can't wait to see it being dug 🙂
The red tape and costs to do anything in this country are beyond absurd.
Gees! Patience of a saint!. Good luck!...
Trust me thats not normally words my friends would use to describe me 🤣
@@benfowlerfisheries That's as maybe, but! Having the patience not to punch the idiot jobs worth Council officials and other clip board weilding 'Muppets' shows great restraint and resiliance! 🙂🍺
Good luck ..hope you get it.
Made it to the end - honest vid, man what a nightmare!! Fingers crossed that it passes - I'm sure it will!
Good luck with it all! The bureaucracy behind planning and all these daft organisations is just ridiculous! You’re a more patient man than I am mate 😂
Very good summary
great vid m8, good luck and dont let the officialdom and red tape get you down, i assume you have set up a business so you can offset the planning and professional costs, will be worth all the agro when its complete = waiting for part 3 = good luck.
Would of been alot easier if he knew people on the council they're always happy to take cash under the table
Not in reality tho this is all a myth if u ask me
True
@Lee Maker if you think corruption isn't real just shows how stupid you are yjats why 80 people own 99% of the worlds stocks and money
Parish councils like cash under the table !
Not what you know it’s who you know always has been
This is brilliant. Great watch and very interesting. 👍
All the best your a star . I would have thrown in the towel long ago and 😊😊
YOU HAVE A LOT MORE PATIENCE THAN ME, WELL DONE AND I HOPE ITS A SUCCESS.
THANK YOU! 🤣
Good luck!!! Put me down for a long weekend once you succeed 👍
Thanks steve!
Always had this idea in my head. Loads of land all over the uk it is just boggie due to having a natural spring all year round. Witch is nightmare for farmers. But be ideal to build a fishery. And could prevent flooding haha
Wow, South Oxon must be very different from Kent. Here iIn Kent all those things you mention that may prevent your lake's building plans from going ahead are actually in existence in countless forms, yet they manage to build huge housing estates. I cannot fathom how they manage to overcome all the regulations and preventions!
Following this story very closely, I live in Faringdon and can not wait to see the finished project.
And the sad thing is you could go through all that, spend best part of 20k and some toss pots on the local Council could still knock it back. From personal experience all these surveys and thier results have a direct connection to how deep your pockets are and WHO you know. You are bang on saying its a system that's fundamentally flawed (corrupt). Best of luck with this mate I really hope you get it as an avid angler I may even visit!
Bloody hell, it would be cheaper to buy one for sale pmsfl, but hats off to you well done and good luck with your project .
Good luck mate
Great insight!
Holy moly yur sub got high so fast darm lucky bro GL in the future too😅🎉
Good luck to you mate
This is brilliant content. What a joke of a process i hope this is a great success. Worse case its great videos 😂
You can do it. What area of the country is this? I’d love to make the trip in the future
I really do feel your pain!! Ive built a log cabin on my land…. Taken 18 months to get it all passed! I know its not a business i.e not bringing local value but my god!!! It was smaller than the garage i had existed! Fair play mate! Fishing is my hobby and this is my dream…. But France….. absolutely not here!!!
Wish to all the best for the future with your dream man! The cabin sounds awesome!
Very informative.
plz spend good money stocking The lake up with big and beautiful carp
Can’t wait to see the next video
Wow this is absolutely brilliant well done if I was your dad I’d be super proud ☺️
Thanks Danny! Hero!
Credit to you mate, talk about paint drying. Good luck in your venture. :) :( 🤘👍👍👍
Good luck with the lake 👍
Mission thou
Just about to do my planning application. Do you have a link to yours so I can compare notes as where I am they are very tight on making sure all is right. Thanks
Hey mate. Fishing was/is my passion. I also study wildlife. I would love to be involved in a wildlife board for your lake to give fisherman some advice and education on what they would see. Been to a few fisheries woth incorrect information and it's such a shame.
Good luck mate. I am looking making a fishing lake here in Corfu.
Now thats an idea!
I have a mate who had an option to buy a piece of land to put a semi-pro football club stadium, houses, flats and business units. One of the things he had to was a 'wildlife feasability study'. This took 5 months and cost (wait for it) £103k (yep). By this time he was £145k and a year into it, the Council then refused his application. He gave up on that piece of land, it's now overgrown and hideous. Councils are crooks, the lot of them.
Where you get this done please let me know would love to fish the lake well done so far
Good luck 👍 🎣🤞
Wow, I got planning for my lake no problem, I didn’t get any surveys at all! Apart from the topographic survey. I separated the lodges and lake and did two different applications for them. I did a lot of the planning work myself
HI Andy, thats amazing! Whats your fishery called and where in the country is it? :)
@@benfowlerfisheries it’s called serenity lakes, it’s two acres and has three shepherds huts on. I’m just doing the planning for a second lane now!
That is an absolute joke mate all that money and it still can be rejected. Fair play to you I hope you get the permission and can't wait for the update good luck🤞🏻
Best of luck and keep on the good fight....;0
i feel for you on the planning but , i had it all when i did similar ,but for horse stables, i had to put up about 6 bird boxes, but they wanted the make, dimensions , the hight i was putting them up and want birds they were for, then it had to go back to tech drawer to redo on the plan, it is a licence to print money, me about £3000 in total, it will all be worth it in the end.
good luck!!!
Just curious where you are? I live in South Oxfordshire and looking at some of the documents your not far away
Do you have any plans to expand the fishery once the first pool is completed and bringing in a limited income? If so, would you have to go through this madness once again, or would you then have the required paperwork to expand? I wish you all the best, and look forward to your next instalment.
I think the answer to that is 50/50 you would be putting in for expansion: so the trees, access and ecological stuff wouldn’t come into challenge. I think it would be about the suitability of the project to the area
Have you finished the lake and when part 3 coming
good luck Benedict whats your estimate on the final cost?
Hi from the USA. Looked into a trout farm in way north NY state back in the late 80's but it seemed more of an expensive hobby farm, not really big enough to go commercial without more investment than I could swing. Good luck.
This is insane 😮
Wow ! The council should have a discount balaclava shop for there employees and agencies!
loving this Ben
what a set of robbing jobsworths ben, and still having to wait for the ok, all the very best with your project and a sub.
good luck hope it goes ok for you
Good luck
GOOD LUCK
I hope it go's well
Good luck with that
Ben yer a better bloke than me I could not go down your route with the planning its bloody bullshit planning, yes but this is over-the-top grabbers
