National cell phone outage

- When you get on your cell phone this morning, you may see an SOS icon on the top right hand corner of your phone screens. Cell phones are unable to receive calls, only iMessage is being able to send when connected to wi fi. But we do want to say with SOS service still being operated, you should still be able to make emergency calls to 911.
I bet there are bunches of young people freaking out. Their anxiety is through the roof about now. For us old farts, it's back to basics when being tethered to a phone was non-existent. Time for all the kids to pull out the board games and get to playing them.
I don't blame them poor kids so dependent on ther smartphones❤❤

Hi Everyone! I'm a teenager and my mom had just gone to drop my sister off at work and we had realized we couldn't call OR text. So I took the time to see what resources I had available. If you have Microsoft Teams, Whatsapp, Google Meets, Google chat, etc. And your family has it as well you MIGHT be able to get through to them!! Do NOT panic! Look at your resources and have a clear mind and find a way to contact your loved ones. There's always a way! Let other people know this too if you're able! Stay safe out there!

I live in MO and my AT&T iPhone is working but my wife’s phone does not. We both have iPhones. Her phone took the latest update last night mine did not.

I would not mind for Dumbphones to discontinue. I remember growing up before dumbphones started in 2007 I could go back as a matter of fact I don't do social mediw anymore so therefore I can survive. According to comments sections. People drove better this morning.

My kid has an older model phone, and he has 4g service, but my husband and I have 5g, and both of our phones are down?! We all have the same plan?!
Dallas, T-Mobile, and my old 4g flip phone is running fine.

My phone and my daughters phone is just fine but her husband’s is in sos mode.. my phone functions fine without being on WiFi but my daughter has to hook up to it… we’re all in the same house… all 3 with different affects

Got home and connected to our wifi.
I can get on the internet but when I switch to WiFi calling it says it's a 502 bad gateway.
Cannot call or text.
May be able to use video chat or something through Facebook or similar but have not tried that yet.

Keep in mind, not everyone owns an iPhone.
So it's just iphone? I did get a report that iphones down and android still working , but not 100% if everyone having same results.
@jacobclark89 It's a network wide, affecting multiple customers. The make and OS of the device is irrelevant. But telling viewers who have an Android that they can send iMessage on WiFi is a useless suggestion. It's like telling someone with an internal combustion engine that they should try charging their car (not referencing that they mean electric cars). Then the whole SOS explanation is also iPhone specific. Androids will simply not tell you if it's 4G or 5G. You just get a 🚫 symbol or when you try to call, it tells you that you can only send emergency calls. This segment assumes that all viewers are iPhone owners, omitting the existence of Android users.

@@mattdorsey2244 gps work by using several satellites at the same time, some gps show the signal strength and name the satellite. I was just trying to find out if it was a satellite 🛰️ issue . It seems that AT&T has restored 3/4 of it's network.
