"Carl Freudenberg" was a German tannery that went out of business in 2002.
The leather from this tannery is known as the finest, but is now rare and precious since it's no longer produced.
The shoes are made of black box calf, which is one of the most popular leather from Carl Freudenberg and is considered particularly hard to find nowadays.
Jesus i feel like i should have paid just to watch that. i was holding my breath the entire time. i wish we went back to the times of quality over quantity. beautiful work gentlemen.
you can still find that in certain parts of the world. Japan for instance
@@Meeseeek London, Paris, Amsterdam, at least 2 in Berlin. Costly though. It takes 2-3 fittings, sometimes more, quality leather, in the end you have a shoe made for just you and it will fit like a glove though.

@@Meeseeek No clue. Ask them. I never heard of a bespoke Jordan. If you pay then enough, possibly.
Likely someone out there somewhere offers bespoke trainers.
I know Girling & Gaziano offers more casual options besides the standard bespoke Oxfords and Brogues.

Низкий поклон мастеру, освящение специфики этой довольно древней работы стоило того, что бы это увидили все.

Мастер не первые туфли делает...просто уже профи так что маты уже закончились😊
Чтобы заработать ,в день минимум 5 пар надо шить или затягивать на колодку а это просто универсал с кусачими ценами!

I have only just started watching these videos recently and I can't stop being amazed at the tools that are used; things like pieces of glass (snapped to produce a sharp edge) and the pliers with the hammer head. I am amazed at how they plane the leather edges down to paper-thin. The care with which the thread is spun and treated with resin.
Just amazed.
Beautiful shoes, and something very special about watching a young Craftsman at work. Nice to know these skills haven't been lost. A true Takumi.

Every step is meticulous, amazing job. The shoe tree style is great for preserving the heel as well, I hadn't seen this style before from other makers.

theres something so satisfying about watching the perfect tool for a given job in action. that leather puller/tack hammer seems like a godsend.

When my son or I have bad dreams, I put these videos on. Usually within the first one we are both back to sleep and sleep soundly for the rest of the night. But, when awake I will sit and watch the technical aspects of this and it is an entirely different world. Amazing both ways.

I've watched a few of these now and knew how professional and precise this craft work is but until this when he was inspecting the toe caps for uniformity and disassembled one to reshape and reassemble all by sight, truly impressive sir.

Honestly, I would pay extra for the craftsmen to film MY shoe being made.
This reminds me of my Grand Seiko when it comes to levels and degrees of finishing above other watches.
The way you framed the edges of the heels with the hot iron was incredible, thank you so much for sharing with us your skills.
