This song is a really excellent example of polymeter. Putting the drums and electronics in this kind of vague 4/4 and the guitars and vocals in blatant 7/4 was a stroke of genius.
This song always makes me want to scream my head off, laugh hysterically, and cry my eyes out all at once. The result ends up as an extremely strange noise, if you were wondering. :)
the most incredible thing i've heard live, i would follow these guys around the globe. a life without seeing this band feels so empty. the emotion they play with is so overwhelming. and i'm done
my absolutely favorite song from these guys...and this is probably the best version ive heard of it... ultimate favorite band: COME BACK TO CHICAGO ANIMAL COLLECTIVE!!! still havent seen ya! :( ♥
Because they manage to create music which is very very radical and different, but still makes me ears happy. they have a great combination of both original sounds and very strange recordings, but also being catchy and easy to just have fun too. That's why I love them.
This is the best song on the album. So driving and so full of feeling. These guys might just keep me from blowing the yearning, learning, fiery, wanting part of my brain out and to smithereens. I don't care how few of us there are, we are just a tad ahead of the game, and thats okay. Elitism isn't sooo bad.
I feel just the same about it. When i listen to it I sream over Avey with angst, but it somehow makes me feel hopefull about the future... Some Animal Collective's songs mood are just out of this world.
@MissingNumberOne My reason is that their music is literally pure expression. They are one of the only bands i have ever come across that are bound by nothing, this is evident in the fluent yet startling transitions of sounds between their albums. In ten years this band has explored and raised the bar for more genres then more or less any musical acts will explore in a lifetime! Also they demostrate a refreshing attitude to the music industry in this warped era of it choosing to be involved...

cool!
I love his scream. They need to scream more.
@Yerbis Shmerpa Avey is honestly one of the most underrated singers of this century haha
I think its safe to say this is the first ever Brian Wilson inspired song to include death metal vocals.
this band has such an original sound
just wow, animal collective is the essence of what it is to be a human being
I think I played "Feels", "Strawberry Jam", and "Sung Tongs" about 50 times each now.

To the people that say "what does Deakin even do??" DO YOU NOT HEAR THOSE GLORIOUS HARMONIES??
@oliver dreyer he does sleep cycle
I had always figured that was Panda Bear
@@bardw.1542 Panda Bear only plays guitar on Campfire Songs and Sung Tongs. He drums on most other albums.
This song always makes me want to scream my head off, laugh hysterically, and cry my eyes out all at once. The result ends up as an extremely strange noise, if you were wondering. :)
