A big THANKS for this, Mark. I knew at one time that Judy skated with the Bombers, but she chose to go with the Warriors. Can you imagine the women's team the Bombers would have had with her and Weston skating together?!!

As always, appreciate your posting this Mark! Though I was never a fan of Roller Games, I was a fan of a number of their skaters, including Judy Arnold and John Parker.

I did not realize that Judy Arnold used to be on the Bombers! I remember her from the Philadelphia Warriors. She has to be one of the greatest skaters ever. If I'm not mistaken, she went in to some sort of religious field??? Thanks for sharing this with us, Mark. WOW
Did she know, or ever skate with your fantastic Mom? 👏❤🤍🛼🛼

Glad you enjoyed the video…yes she skated with my mom when she was on the Bombers from 1961-1966…and then they skated against each other during a few inter-league games in the late 1960’s-early 1970’s

@@rhondaz356 Judy Arnold I believe made Rookie Of The Year with the San Francisco Bay Bombers. I believe 1961. If you pick up a copy of Five Strides On The Banked Track, The Life & Times Of The Roller Derby by Frank Deford they will have a list of all awarded Rookie Of The Year, All Star Team Rosters, World Championship Teams, Most Valuable Player @ the rear of the book. Judy Sowinski also broke in with the Bay Bombers I believe 1959, also of Roller Games

I used to watch the Warriors with Judy Arnold on the UHF channel 47 in Long Island back in 1971-72. I had to ask my parents permission to watch it because it was late on school night. I was a big fan of the Warriors. I also was a bigger fan of Charlie O Connel and the Bay Bombers. One question who was the crazy guy who used to swing his clip board at everyone?

En mi opinión, Judy Arnold fue la mejor, más completa y carismática patinadora de todos los tiempos. Saludos desde Puerto Rico.

Mark the fashion store Judy owned was called Judy s other place because The Arena I worked in The Philadelphia Spectrum in Philadelphia on the nights we had Roller Games there was called Judys Place. They called it this on thise nights because we would sell out at almost 17,000 seats.
Judy lived in Mt.Ephraim N.J. and would shop up at Korvettes and J.C. Penny's at The Audubon Shopping Center which was like a mile away from where Judy lived. Sally Vega lived up in Mt.Ephraim to and went to a church there where she got Judy interested in giving her life to God.

One day if I have the time I'll dissect the pages and explain what some of the pages mean. The cigarette packages on the last page is a remembrance back then smoking was the big thing then in the 70's before the Surgeon General warned against smoking. You would have to ask your Mom if her and your dad smoked heavy?

Thelma (my wife) loves to take road trips and hit every yard sale she can find. She did that last weekend and brought me something "Roller Derby connected". I have enjoyed having it, but if you have no objection I am going to mail it to you next week when my SS check comes in. I just want to do all I can to help you keep Roller Derby memories alive! Keep an eye on your mail next week.

I would never put your address on here without your permission, so I'll just ask you if it is still the same as the address you gave me on 8-7-19? Also, I don't seem to be able to find your e-mail address. Not a major problem, just the reason I didn't e-mail you.
