The Lizard is one of Spider-Man’s oldest and deadliest foes while ironically, his alter ego is a close friend and former teacher of Spidey’s alter ego, Peter Parker.

Love it! I'm honestly glad to have both - very different eras of Lizard, as he has gotten more and more monstrous as time has gone on.
The toothless head is really growing on me. His articulation is so good, this may be the best figure of the retro line.
You might be right! And yes in person it definitely has a charm and spot on for early comic Lizard 🦎
He’s gorgeous! That classic head sculpt is perfect.
There's no doubt the new retro Lizard has amazing engineering and articulation, but I like my Lizard to be massive and monstrous. I'd be OK if they took the BAF, sculpted a new head and legs, then used a bendy tail.

Since this Lizard is a Steve Ditko creation, You can use him along with retro Green Goblin, Sandman, Mysterio, Electro, Doctor Octopus and Hammerhead that are Steve Ditko creations, Also, The new updated Amazing Fantasy #15 Spider-Man will go great to fight the Lizard with the Steve Ditko Lizard head on him, Awesome review Dan.

Thank you for the review. Your videos are always very fun. This Lizard actually looks pretty good. I like both the head sculpts. I don't think you can go wrong using either one. Hasbro can be so annoying at times. Some of the previous figures they have released have been average or mediocre. Either they need to make this figure look as bad as some of the previous released figures, or update all the previous figure's sculpt, paint and pin-less articulation to match this one. My display is going to start looking lopsided if they keep doing this.

Think this will be my go to Lizard from now on. The BAF is great, but hindered by that awful leg articulation and the segmented tail. Would love them to do re-release though with those elements fixed and improved.
I’ve been moving further and further from Legends these days but releases like this - classic villains, not exclusives! - are exactly why I stick around. Where else are you gona find Lizard, and with a classic look on top of that. So happy to have this on preorder and looking forward to it!
Looks superb. Original Ditko look for me. A shame he doesn't have left and right versions of each hand. Imagine if he had roe articulation too.
I think the non lizard parts could be used for a bruce Banner after he's changed back from the Hulk.
I would go for the classic lizard headsculpt, I've gotten used to it since reading The Amazing Spider-Man issues during Lockdown.
You can also use the no teeth head as a not fully transformed lizard
I prefer his thin look and can't wait to get this figure! I wonder what figure will be able to wear Beast's lab coat in the future. I would hope Dragon Man, but he seems too large.
This looks very cool. I got my invoice through for this yesterday. This seems to be one of very few toylines that actually hit the UK early.

I can't wait to get mine. I ordered 2 so hopefully they are both good. I would love to have both versions. I can see High Evolutionary mutating Connors into the Monster Lizard.

Just a note: Pretty sure the retro packaging with stay the same. It was asked about during sdcc in an interview by the boys of Acba.

This one looks cool!! I've got the other baf one which I love too!! Great that the tail is bendy wire! Gonna have to get shocker at some point too!! Did you say you have to return that beast? Bro hasbro should let you keep that one!! Great review!

I have this Lizard and I like it but the foot and ankle articulation hinders his poses. Toe articulation and the ability to tilt the ankle joint up towards the shin would have made a huge difference.
I tried to order it from Walmart, but it doesn't even show -up on the app. I don't have a Walmart in my area, so I only get it on-line when available. This has been a very challenging figure to order along with Mcfarlane 's SHAZAM and Parallax. It was a lot easier getting Ulik and Dr. Strange and the Composite Hulk.
The size of the BAF Lizard is really appealing, but the limited articulation and the dinosaur head really don't do the character justice. (The first story arc in McFarlane's "Spider-Man" series from the 90's is what the BAF should have looked like.) Looking forward to this new one, tho! His look is ripped right out of the 60's comics!

I like retro unfortunately I do live in America and I only want the lizard and amazing fantasy which is actually amazing spider man issue one from this beyond amazing and the fact I'm an unemployed teen doesn't help may chances much but yeah it's a beautiful figure and awesome work as always man

I see Curt and Bruce shop at the same scientist haberdashery, and I do agree, we should have gotten a Curt head. I’d also like to see the body reused for a “transforming Bruce”, too. Bare feet and arms, turning green, maybe reuse the Hood head for the agony of Hulking out?
My BAF Lizard is still headless, since I never saw Lasher, and I’m slightly disappointed we can’t swap between the two. Maybe a decent JP Dino head could work?
The FA head reminds me of the Gorn, but Mego simply repainted their Lizard for a Gorn, or vice versa?
I do like the more modern head, and having both could work on a shelf, since he tried to turn NYC into New Lizard City more than once.

BAF Lizard has a great sculpt, but looks more like a dinosaur and more difficult to pose. This retro Lizard has a more classic appearance, much better articulated, and a few other accessories, including two head options. So I prefer the retro.
How do I get one early?

Hasbro’s engineers are WIlD! They could have easily put the peg on the tail, but they just HAD to have it sticking out of his butt lol

This and Ulik are the two figures I've liked best this year, and I say that actually without actually having the Lizard in-hand just yet. It just looks amazingly good! The Alex Ross Iron Man figure was also a surprisingly great figure from the Legends line!
I can't agree about the head sculpt being modeled after the "first appearance" by Ditko in issue #6. It's clearly based on the John Romita Sr later Lizard appearance from issues #44 and 45, which I have in my collection: www.lostonwallace.com/spidey45.jpg
I don't personally like the modern lizard look with the teeth. Not everyone started reading comics during the McFarlane era. Older comic readers appreciate the classic looks, but there's not a thing wrong with anyone's preference of course. It's just damned cool that they gave us two different options for heads! It's a surprisingly good option from Hasbro, who aren't known for doing a lot in the way of extras. I just think this: He's a "Lizard", NOT a Velociraptor or snake!! I stick with that notion in regards to the character. He needs to look like--a lizard! To that in, I'll be employing that classic head on my figure display for sure! Your mileage is sure to vary! :) Love the extra chemical bottles!
