It’s so cool that Jimmy Heath is still playing. He’s in his 90s!

Jimmy's solo is so laid back and intentional. The little pause before each phrase shows how wise and thought out all of his lines are. Incredible.

Wow, what a cool setting for that jazz performance! The tune was great, the rhythm section was on point, and it was awesome to finally see the players in action. But, I gotta be honest, there's one thing that didn't quite hit the right note with me. That trumpet player, although a local instructor at the prestigious University of North Texas, was about as inspiring as a soggy piece of toast. He's so cliché-focused that I'm surprised he didn't start playing "Hot Cross Buns" in the middle of the set. I mean, I knew this guy back in the day and his jazz skills were & are mediocre at best. It's a shame he's featured so often, but hey, maybe he just needs to spice things up a bit - or maybe we should just stick to the other guys!

It looks like tenor is Mark VI. Can’t make the alto, though. Anybody out there know the set-ups and particulars on the horns?
Slinging some riffs, that’s for sure.

It looks like the silver Alto is a KeilWerth. I see *LW*T* around 2:46. This is supported by a current UNT.edu bio listing an endorsement for Keilwerth.
