This is a great historical documentary about Gurdieff´s life and works. I believe that he tried to find the meaning of human existence. And he may have lived the answer by his many activities, in trial and error, with his fellow men, teaching them. Recently, I´v watched the movie, based on his life, `Meetings with Remarkable Men`. On youtube. Well made, and beautiful. Something that is hard to put in words, to be clear to others, is simple in its clarity within me. Since I´ve learned, or rather grasped the meaning of Christ Consciousness, and how to open to it from the heart with a commitment of being an instrument. An awakening into being at peace with who I am, and joyfulness, with appreciation for being alive. At ease. I´ve been an explorer of life and love all of my life, and now, at the age of 72, it´s as if I´m coming home.. sort of.. full circle. Within.
Amazing. Such a treasure to stumble across, seemingly by chance. Seeing the videos of areas that G. lived in at different times makes the sense of his presence on the planet years ago so much stronger, at least for me. Thank you for the time you must have put in, to produce this gem...
O, my goodness, this is so refreshing. Just popped up on my screen as if by magic. A number of years ago I had the remarkable fortune to meet and become friends with Gurdjieff's nephew, also called George. A truly vivifying experience. I made a film about this on my channel, The time I spent with Gurdjieff's nephew, also called George, which has proved to be enormously successful and has brought a number of people over to the work. He exuded a calmness, a certainty, combined with a huge vivifying factor which drastically altered the atmosphere in which one found oneself. So much so, as to the point of being unnerving. It was like being in another universe. Although, the man who introduced me to the work, Michael Proudfoot, did exactly the same. As though one were in the world, but certainly not of it. As though one had been carried off somewhere else. As I say, an indescribable atmosphere of being vivified took place. I suppose this is how the work works when it works. A transmission occurs. I'm a writer. And it is far beyond me to get down in words exactly what took place. But I'm so glad that it did. As it has been a benchmark for all that was to follow. I have had the privilege of meeting one such individual and have experiences this strange transmission. I never saw the subtitles on this video but the background music of Thomas de Hartman more than compensated for my ignorance of the German language. And shame on me for me not being proficient in languages other than the country in which I live!
Surprisingly, in this well done documentary there is no place for his close disciple Ouspensky, who put a lot of energy writing down the essence of Gurdjieff's teaching.
