Destiny 2: Let's Fix the Worst Exotic Energy Weapons

- There are about 70 Exotic Weapons in Destiny 2, about 30 of them are clinically bad for one reason or another. I pray that Bungie sees some of these ideas and uses them from feedback in the next new season.

Hard light could make the elemental pickup and have collective action
Is this a big shot reference? lol
Wardcliff just make it do big damage on bosses they literally have only had a few”vehicle”bosses and when it’s too good for its job they need it or change the enemy. Other than that give it ambitious Assassin / better tracking? It also doesn’t help that bungie is adding anti vehicle perks when this exotic is thee anti vehicle weapon.
As someone with thousands of Trespasser kills in both games, I gotta say the exotic is way better in D2. But Bungie really needs to fix the full auto setting on this exotic. Because of the 6-burst being only one shot and it reloading the weapon the gun tends to mess up. Sometimes it won’t active, it sometimes will be a 4-burst, sometimes the whole mag becomes a 6-burst etc.
How many exactly
I think if that were its only major problem it would get used more. Give it more of a buff then pull it back if its too much is my philosophy
Heating up or killing wind could be a better replacement than tunnel vision
Edge of intent needs a much larger area of effect, and maybe it should be able to shotgun blast a bunch of healing across a large group at once, or maybe just give the healing a large “explosion” that heals teammates around who it hits. Also or maybe instead, it could provide ability regen in hits with the turret?
The Prometheus lens just needs to be able to keep the super death ball for a second after you let go of the trigger, so you can stop firing for a second, then pull the trigger again and get the big death laser going again
Remove the cooldown on the moth creation on Ex Diris and it immediately becomes god tier in PVE
Imagine creating one moth per thrall you nuke in a crowd.
The only problem with that is the same reason we don’t use deathbringer, you would probably experience moths getting deleted. If that doesn’t happen though ya that could help a lot in providing extra damage and inventory in an artificial way.
Funnily enough its main problem is at the end of the day though its damage.
@@atsukana1704 Even if they limited it to 3-4 active moths at once, hard capped it there, but you could create new moths as they went down, that would give the weapon a massive PVE buff without breaking it in PVP.
Not even fucking close buddy. Ex Diris is fucking shit beyond just the moth cooldown. Statistically the weapon is fucking awful. It needs more (LOTS MORE) damage, bigger blast radius and needs better range. Everything about this gun is ridiculously underwhelming which is a shame because it’s a cool concept. Buffing the moth cooldown alone would absolutely not make it god tier, remember, it needs to be able to get kills for the moths in the first place…
Bungie should either keep it as it is right now and just make it into a primary weapon or buff the shit out of it to make it earn the exotic/special slot because right now I genuinely can’t think of a bigger throw weapon for that slot.
I have become Ghosts of the Deep, destroyer of psyches
What if, getting a kill with the moth reloads a round. And leaning into using it with hunters, giving an overshield gives YOU an overshield. Might be a way to encourage support hunters
Compeletely frozen take, but instead of void borealis causing a volatile burst, maybe supressing burst?
We don't have enough ways to supress enemies. YOu got Supression grenades, Shield Bash, Tether, and Tractor cannon. THree of which are on cooldown and fairly easy to miss/put you in COMPLETE danger in PVE and or OUTRIGHT KILL, and then tractor cannon requires heavy ammo and you to barrel stuff the enemy.
I just want more ways to get supression rolling so I can use Collective Obligation at full power MORE often.
You did forget one in the wave splitter but I like the take I'd like to see the elements to expand on all of the weapons with the weapon starting on your element as quality of life.
But then what use can you get if borealis could suppress? Since you can't equip both and you would need to rely on people using borealis other than you.
@@chrisb.2028 I'm sorry idk what you are saying. The poster was saying that void headshots kills should apply suppression in an AOE which would disrupt overloads which is different then the tractor cannon debuff which also suppresses.
@@mininearby the commenter said they need more ways to suppress so they can use collective obligation at full power, but you can’t use borealis and collective obligation at the same time
There are some other ways to suppress targets: Wavesplitter suppresses when Supercharged Battery is active; Ruinous Effigy balls can suppress when you dunk with them; Two-Tailed Fox's void rocket will suppress. Bombardiers on Void will "lite suppress" (cause disorienting effect but not affect Guardians or Lucent Hive in their supers).
Some suggestions for the Heavy list:
1. Truth
2. Deathbringer
3. Prospector
4. Colony
5. Heartshadow
6. Whisper of the Worm
7. Darci
Truth and Colony are already slated for buffs/changes in the Final Shape.
I also disagree with Deathbringer, it's not that bad, it's just awkward to use.
@@nucleardrake9981 Whisper by no means needs a buff anymore.

Deterministic chaos
Dumb but funny idea: Turn Manticore into a Borderlands reference. It looks just like a Hyperion SMG which for those unfamiliar, they have a shield that pops out of the weapon when ADS. Depending on the gun the shield's durability varies. So when Manticore's perk is active have it give you a void overshield
thats a good idea keep cookin
Honestly, much as it might step on Vexcalibur a little bit I like this.
@salamanda550 I considered that but also Hard Light, Borealis, and Dead Messenger have overlapping functionality. Plus my idea doesn't elevate Manticore from meme status so much as rescue it from being a liability. Which is unfortunate because it's genuinely a fun weapon.
Lord of wolves actually deals a very good amount of damage in PVE, but it needs a significant increase in its ammo. If they gave it 360 rounds or something it can do really nice ad clear and/or major damage. Also, maybe a good team buff could be: "While release the wolves is active, kills and sustained damage grant restoration and a stacking shotgun damage buff to you and nearby allies. Targets defeated by you or nearby allies extend the buff duration." Which is very similar to Banner of War, but it's the only way I can see shotguns surviving in higher tier gameplay.
I think restoration is way too common, so maybe heal instead but the idea is really good
Cant wait for the heavy weapon version just to be the roast of Truth and Deterministic Chaos.
Truth is just flat out bad for obvious reasons.
Deterministic Chaos is just designed backwards in my opinion. Like, why is weaken, a debuff so powerful its restricted to very few things in the game and, in bungies eyes, is worth a -20 disipline penalty, activating every fourth shot, but then Volatile is activating every 16th shot??
Heres my change (which is more of Catalyst rather than a change but roll with it lmao):
Vexidecimal now triggers everytime Heavy Metal triggers. Plus give it Repulsor Brace, and thats legit all it needs to be a viable ad-clear machine gun
It’s designed to be a support weapon though
@@thunderchief7256but it does such low damage that it's not worth it for an exotic so to be a viable support weapon it should also hold it's own for the user too. It needs something like Vorpal, Killing Tally, Subsistence, Ambitious Assassin, etc intrinsically to make it at least on par with legendaries. That's why nobody runs it for support. It's just bad for the user and damage at base.
@@Based_Shogun Yet people use tractor cannon and say it’s better
@@thunderchief7256 because tractor is better. The debuff is better and you can use your other weapons until you need to reapply the debuff. Using deterministic chaos as support just makes you dead weight on dps
I only found out months ago that truth got stripped of its 3 rockets.
fun fact: prometheus lens also gets incandescent as the catalyst perk as well, TDT didn't mention it at all ngl
Fair point but why not just use Tommy’s or Polaris Lance?
tommy's does self dmg and polaris needs you to be a thousand miles away from the thing your shooting at
@@TDTProductions
@@TDTProductions Because laser beam.
@@TDTProductionsPolaris will fall off a cliff once this artifact is gone, Matchbook damages user (not always a dealbreaker but you get way less in return than ToM) and ignitions are fubar. Trace rifle damage really isn’t that bad for most targets and Prometheus is better than you give it credit for.
Catalyst idea for Borealis:
Ionic Inheritance - While "Ionic Return" is active, final blows or breaking an elemental shield matching this weapon's current damage type creates elemental explosion based on the current damage type and applies subclass effects.
* Solar - scorches targets
* Void - applies volatile to all nearby targets
* Arc - blinds nearby targets
Hate to break it to you, but it already has a catalyst.
@@reedwojo7858 I do know that, but all it gives you is +20 reload speed, so the idea aims to make it actually do something
This is an amazing idea as it forces you to swap its element
Yeah the warlock glaive definitely needs a redesign of some sort. Having the turret ignite might do something for it. As for heavy weapons, the ones that come to mind are: truth, colony, prospector, and deterministic chaos.
6:10 What a BALLER transition!
Thats what im saying! im glad someone else said something
Exactly what I was thinking
idea for edge of intent, when you fire the healing turret, you could pick it up and act as a mobile rift, kind of like you said, but also when you use your rift or well, it would be put back down again and act as an extra buff to the rift or well, maybe allowing a healing rift to buff damage and give grenade energy like an empowering rift, and vice versa, and give on overall buff to wells health and damage buffs if used that way.
And then well would need to be nerfed because it would be WAY too op
Jokes aside, very good idea indeed
Symmetry is slept on in gambit
Symmetry is slept on in everything
I love symmetry but I cant deny it feels a little flat. Also gambit lmao
ye gambit sucks, but stacking revolution times x20 is so easy against Ads and then just invading and two tapping guardians feels so good@@TDTProductions
@@TDTProductions I love symmetry its probably my most used energy weapon in pvp at this point but man they really need to do something about projectile weapons in general.
Sometimes shots just randomly blank despite clearly hitting them. Also the fact that most of the time if you slide into a symmetry projectile it just eats the round.
Also bring back teamkilling
Hard Light catalyst: When you have any armor charge, it grants Voltshot, Volatile Rounds or Incandescent to Hard Light regardless of what subclass you have equipped.
Personally i would->
[Hard Light]: Picking an elemental pickup overloads the damage of the matching element. (Void breach = more void dmg and so on).
[Lord of Wolves]: The actual Gjallarhorn of shotguns. If theres a LoW on the fireteam, every additional shotguns deal a lil more dmg per shotgun currently being used. Imo play well with the idea of a pack and its leader. Also open up for some... interesting synergy with No Backup Plans and close quarters dps phases like Rhulk and Ir Yut
[Edge of Intent]: Make the soul last waaay longer and have a much longer range. It would be a reasonable tradeoff for the fact that (as you put it) its a worse rift and there are many other ways to get better healing. The heal turret would be sort of a "put it down, forget about it, and enjoy the background healing for your whole fireteam" sort of thing.
The rest i wholeheartedly agree
So LoW is just Rat king but for shotguns
@@yasininn76 Fuck, my dumbass completely forgot about rat king. I would edit the gjally for RK but doing so would take the heart off the comment so i'll just take the L
@@yasininn76 Kind of. Rat King's Rat Pack only buffs guns with the Rat Pack perk. The original commenter's idea has Lord of Wolves function more like Gjallarhorn's Pack Hunter perk where other legendary shotguns get a boost in DPS.
Edit: You are correct. I did not understand the wording completely.
Maybe they should give all shotguns nearby scotch to fit the solar theme of LoW and not just be a damage buff.
The damage number just going up sounds a little boring.
Manticore already gets resist on kills in air with the catalyst. Easy PvP add is to give it 60 - 70+ ae because 30 is not enough. In PvE, manticore flight charge granting invisibility high charges when you stop shooting would be interesting. This fits the void flavour and allows the user to escape from the often dangerous in air situations manticore lands you in.
Since Ex Diris feels too much like a gimmick weapon, I would propose these changes:
- Make the Amplified effect part of the base Exotic perk.
- Make the "enrage" mechanic scale the weapon's damage output instead of rate of fire.
- Reduce the moth spawn delay to a minimum.
- Change the catalyst to "Hits with loyal moths return one round to the weapon, with kills returning 2-3 rounds." (this cound also synergize beautifully with Mothkeeper's Wraps, with those moths counting for the ammo return too)
How would 3 work though? It already reloads itself
@@thunderchief7256 Maybe should've specified, return the ammo to the reserves
Ok
I think a really cool idea for trespasser could be giving it the ability to shoot while sprinting after getting a kill, along with the unrepentant perks it has
I would love that but the engine would probably spontaneously combust if they ever tried coding that.
Here's a crazy idea: give borealis disruption break. It could play into the whole shield breaking role and not be completely useless if you bodyshot in PvP
I feel like it should be going away from hot swapping playstyle and going into more as a anti healing like rift and overshields for the rewards because dying instantly to people who swapped around with it on arc mode with a scout rifle and shot you once from across the map sucks
If you do heavy, I think giving darci bait and switch would be hilarious. It completely nullifies the “hardscope” style it has, BUT it also kinda makes sense
so glad Tommy isn't on the list!
Means that Mesome understand its power and fun it can create!
P.s. I think that giving that strand manticore demolishinost for grapple only would be kind of funny
For telesto, wouldn't it be funny if it had a perk that made it proc a completely random effect every 10-20 kills ?
Like, it could proc any buff/debuff in the entire game, on either you or your ennemies, create like 10 orbs in one kill, create any pickable subclass thing, play a random sound, and even cheese Riven !
I think it would be a nice reference to its ability to break the game
What a freaking beautiful transition 6:10-6:12
Edit: he kept doing it. I love it every time
Man, those blink transitions are beautiful
As a proud member of the telesto cult, i propose these changes, in the form of a new, better catty:
Molecular Bypass: Rapid kills with this weapon charge the weapon. At full charge, hold (reload) to fire a Gamebreaker Shot, a single explosive that plants a vortex grenade on the *other side* of walls. If it hits the ground, the shot explodes as normal, dealing less damage in a larger AOE, while applying volatile.
"you guys did not skin Us Alive"
...for now😈
Manticore is supposed to reload on hover kills
That would help but I still dont think it would save it... like... not even close
I feel like a change to Borealis that would maintain the theme of rotating through different elements would be granting a damage bonus and elemental verb application to your next shot when you rotate after a kill (and speed up the rotation animation after a kill like Outlaw). Get a kill on Solar, now you swap to Void and deal bonus damage + volatile on your first shot, get a kill and swap to Arc for bonus damage and blind/jolt, and so on, encouraging constant swapping. Seems like it could be a really fun and dynamic playstyle that keeps with the existing mechanic of the weapon.
Those blink transitions 🤌
When you started with the Hardlight idea I was rolling my eyes thinking it was another "just add a 3.0 verb to it even if it doesnt make sense" but i actually do like the idea of it generating firesprites, Ionic traces, or void breaches.
I really like the idea of flying with the manitcore. I think making the movement speed higher while your in the air and a damage resistance possible tying it to air time or the movement speed while in the air. On top of that being able to brake while flying around by aiming would be cool
I love telesto, and I love the idea of giving it intrinsic volatile in some way.
telesto + gyrfalcons was my favourite double special loadout along with wavesplitter (which needs a catalyst btw)
For Telesto, maybe a proximity mine/grenade effect for any bolts that don't hit a guardian or enemy that last for a certain amount of time before dispersing if not triggered, with any proximity triggers causing the target caught to become volatile?
6:46 that cut from pve to pvp was perfect
I think that a cool hard light change would be to give it the perks for each corresponding damage type, destabilizing rounds, incandescent, and volt shot it would be so cool to take all three and use it when you need it.
The Wardcliff Coil: Mechanized Auto-loader is now a combination of overflow and a reverse lead from gold. Either deeper pockets or bipod is added to the catalyst.
Criminally underrating Trespasser here. Being able to just delete any red-bar for 7s makes this ridiculously strong in mid-tier content.
While it’s overkill in low tier (as you said Riskrunner would be better) and held back by range in GMs, in Legend/Master content or even day-1 raids this thing shreds.
BUT I do think the on-demand amplified is a really cool and thematic idea that I’d love to see on it!
For Hard Light, I like the elemental pickups, i would also add repulsor brace, eddy current, and heal clip to their respective elements
Thank you mesome, I will now be putting a build submission for Trespasser with Backris.
You and I both know a side arm at the end of the day will always be usable
Blink transitions went crazy bro
Great video but why is no one talking about that amazing blink cut at 6:08, that was dope.
Also, any gun that allows you to switch element lost its viability when match game went away. I usually used hardlight to break shield in GM's. Make it so it can stun any type of champion. Hardlight is a great primary option, dead messenger is a great AOE option, and Borealis would be cool if it did bonus precision damage to champs
11:20 i used to have a build for borealis before its rework. sympathetic arsenal wouldnt count as a "reload" letting you keep the damage boost going until you were out of ammo. and with anti barrier sniper this thing was great in GM's with that build.
everyone knows joltun needs a buff
. . . . . . . . . . . . . .Yo Ezio, yeah, this one he's the Templar.
Agreed, need a charge time buff
@@fuhkyu8146i see you hate fun in pvp
lock this mans up
For the Manticore, I feel that it needs enhancements to its airborne mode. When active, it will give a small amount of damage resist, and apply half a void overshield upon activation, and when exiting the mode a full overshield will be applied. Getting kills will reapply the overshield up to 2/3 of your health bar. For normal gameplay, shooting while airborne will cause you to fall a bit slower and will slowly generate an overshield. Also in general you can shoot the gun while boosting/gliding without canceling out it. Additionally, it could weaken targets with rapid hits, and when in the airborne mode make targets volatile.
Another thing to note about Symmetry is that you NEED x10 to 2 tap a 10 Resil guardian now. When Bungie made the health changes, they did a lot of things, including neglecting to allow symmetry to 2 tap at a lower stack count
I wud suggest that prometheus lens has a perk where if you get 5 kills and you special reload you fire a bolt that fires at an enemy and ignites them
imagine if hard light had incandescent for the solar volt shot for arc and forgot the name for it but something volatile for void that would be amazing
I have been using a fun edge of intent/boots of the assembler + ember of benevolence build and it is functional, but it still feels like the glaive needs a little bit more.
For hardlight, I think it’d be cool if the ricochet rounds did elemental verbs in an aoe on kill. Like scorch, jolt, suppression
The hard light idea I had was essentially giving it a hybrid of genesis, overflow and onslaught: breaking an element-matching shield (or shield of a guardian in super) refils the mag to 200% capacity and increases rpm by 50% for 7s, refreshing on any subsequent shield break. This gives it more utility but more importantly makes it much more fun. Having 98 rounds to fire at 900 rpm sounds very fun, and while it won't make it top tier it'll make it fun tier
For manticore, it can give void overshield, as that is similar to woven mail, but just void
I think a cool idea for the Prometheus could be cause it has a prism, that the longer you hold down, little beams come out and dmg other targets. Would make it more unique and better for add clearing.
Hard light: i really like the elemental pickup idea, just feel it needs a little something more like maybe an insta reload on picking up a matching elemental pick-up.
Lord of Wolves: u got me thinking about a Rat King like effect where it gets bonus damage and reload speed based on number of nearby Lord of Wolves.
Tresspasser: i definitely like the idea of using it to get amplified on any class.
Edge of Intent: A heal buddy on your shoulder sounds neat instead of a turret. Perhaps add duration by shielding?
Manticore: im torn between your idea of making it strand and another of giving it a Borderlands shield.
Ex Diris: What about an increase in fire rate after Moth generation?
Telesto: give it controlled burst so latching ALL projectiles onto a target gives it a damage bonus.
The problem with Ex Diris is the same problem that Mothkeeper's has and it's that they were obviously designed to work together. Because of that, if you're lacking the gloves then the GL just feels kinda meh, and if you're lacking the GL (for some reason), the gloves don't really do anything useful. Together they're a somewhat fun build but pale in comparison to the more standard Arc Hunter builds.
personally I really like running ex diris and mothkeepers wraps on void or arc mostly but it can do pretty good with solar too. every kill with ex diris will spawn two moths one that grants void overshield and another that does the regular seak target and blind them it just mixes very well
I would love if the manticore gave you a air dive after getting a kill, doesn’t have to do any really damage, but just having that would make it useable and unique
Depending on what we count as worst heavy. I think deterministic chaos could be a good choice to “rework” it a bit
Manticore: in mythology a creature with the head of a man, body of a lion, and tail of a scorpion/dragon.
Exotic trait: Spliced DNA. Kills with special ammo weapons generate a reserve of high damage, shotgun-like shots. Kills with heavy weapons generate a reserve of dragon's fire. An AOE projectile that applies a lingering damage like that of the void wall grenade.
These fire modes can be swapped through the same way you swap hardlight's modes.
In PVP there should be a limitation on the shotgun mode. Leaving it just shy of being able to one tap
I think to link to the wild card origin trait, instead of more bolts being dropped on kill, those bolts should be loaded into the next burst for telesto
For power weapons the first thing that comes to mind is 1K. Even with the ignition thing it still just doesn't have enough total reserve damage to justify being a DPS weapon, and is a worse add clear option than many other heavy options. A catalyst with incandescent/controlled burst would give it a nice damage bump for bosses and the incandescent plays nicely into the solar ignition theme it has. If not that then maybe some form of ammo refund after multiple ignitions, to allow it to actually be used as a major/add clear gun.
5:41
(Lord Of Wolves): Getting kills with the normal mode store stacks of “The Hunt”, activating the alternate fire mode while having max stacks of “The Hunt” *”4 stacks”* will allow every kill you get to spawn a Firebolt grenade on the defeated target’s location and all kills will drop a Firesprite for a moderate duration. *”a Guardian kill will grant 2 stacks per kill”*
While “The Hunt” is active , all nearby allies will spawn Firesprites on kills.
This weapon gains a massively increased precision damage and tighter pellet grouping and range only in the alternate firing mode.
(The alternate firing mode will only be available to use while having full “The Hunt” stacks)
“no longer an option to switch to whenever you want”
Some ideas:
For Hard Light, I would suggest instead of bonus damage on ricochet hits, it spreads a subclass verb; volatile for void, scorch for solar, and jolt for arc.
For Borealis, maybe breaking a shield grants you a positive subclass verb, ie overshield for void, cure for solar, and amplified for arc.
For Telesto, maybe bolt damage causes enemies to become volatile? Maybe bolt kills refill the magazine? Idk.
Hard light should get a perk that combines disruption break and shield disorient... but the bonus kinetic damage only happens if the element matched... and then maybe high impact reserves, as a reference to when it had glass a half full in D1.
With Hard Light I feel that you should get a damage bump for busting a shield, which would also include Woven Mail and Overshield in PvP. For PvE this would translate to a hefty bump but standard Empowering Rift damage levels for PvP.
Symmetry, Intent, Prometheus Lens, Ex Diris, and Telesto I can agree with the proposed changes.
However, Hard Light would mostly be on arc if it generated pickups (and still not as effectively as other options). Honestly, the fun factor of Hard Light is its selling point. Lean into it, a catalyst that lets it ricochet more with slightly better target acquisition, matching element shield breaks disorient the enemy and for slight longer than an average blind.
Manticore completely changing element AND slot I imagine would break some code harder than Telesto nor would it fix its issues even with Woven Mail. If the Manticore’s main perk is essentially the wings, where’s the other two parts? Maybe a “bite” and “sting” effect that when a “bite” bullet hits a target they get poisoned or slowed and in the air the effect happens more often?
I would love to see LoW get Gjallarhorn treatment but all it really needs is a reserves buff in PvE.
For Trespasser, maybe holding it while Amplified automatically procs the effect instead of needing to run for a few seconds, as if it’s “trespassing” the bounds set by the keyword.
Borealis could leave a faint bullet trail for a couple seconds that when an ally touches the trail and their subclass matches, they get a damage boost to their weapons and abilities for a few seconds. Allowing the Borealis name to make sense, while also giving it a support role instead of a purely offensive one.
it makes me so happy and sad ruinous effigy didn't make this list
i love my funni orb gun, but currently it's pretty much only good in gambit
Edge of intent: as the supercharged shot, it should launch one of the daybreak swords that either heavily scorches or ignites combatants it hits
For your heavy weapons I have an idea for prospector. Part of its identity is having multiple of its grenades detonate all at once, so what if the damage multiplied based on the number of prospector nades on a target. Having a full mag 8 grenades would multiply the damage by 50%, having a full fireteam’s 48 grenades would multiply it by 3x. So pretty much heavy outbreak.
Putting ex diris on there is crazy
Its possibly the worst exotic for PvP in the game. Good in PvE but The WORST in PvP = Put it on the list.
Although if you think another is more deserving of a spot I legit would love to hear it
@@TDTProductions probably colective obligation cus you need to do alot of shit to really get the best out of its exptic perk
Outside of Mothkeeper's Wraps (which were basically made to be used with the damn thing), I don't see why you'd use it. It's lackluster as a GL, and really not that interesting in practice.
As someone who mains the Edge of Intent Warlock with the Karstien Armaments, having the healing turret on my shoulder would be so much better than just shooting it at a wall, and hoping it can reach you while you run around a area
The Manticore: Keep it in the energy slot, but change it to strand.
Catalyst: Kills while floating create a suspending burst (like a hunter dive).
Seems like a perfect fit to me.
Hard light: gives elemental buffs on kills (volatile rounds, jolt, radiant+scorch on hit)
Symmetry: at 15stacks or above alt fire procs jolt
Trespasser: jolts on super burst
Lord of wolves: gives radiant on kills and procs 7 stacks of scorch per bolt (35 total per burst and causes an ignition in 3 bursts)
Borealis: causes a large elemental explosion on sheild break (grenade launcher damage) and price scorch, jolt, or volatile
i feel if you pop a sheild with hard light it gives you that subclass ( random) verb buffs.
lord of wolves (with iron banner armour) should build up stacks of like an explosion that causes scorch on class ability cast, like how iron banner armour lights up/ is on fire
I actually have a build that unironically uses Edge of intent. It's a pve double special support build that uses a stasis legendary trace rifle, the glaive, and the cenotaph helmet. The glaive offers decent healing in pve, and the ceontaph + legendary trace is usually able to sustain enough special ammo to keep everything running smoothly enough. That said, there are times when I've felt that Lumina and a solar legendary would have just worked better in other scenarios.
Having it be more mobile or granting radiant would also be some strong buffs that would be very welcome. Also, the exotic glaives should get the crafted exotic masterwork treatment and be able to get crafted with glaive perks, like immovable object, unstoppable force, replenishing aegis, etc.
Telesto is weird because the one goofy weekend proved that any big buff to it breaks it and makes it the best weapon in the game (the gun still has plenty of hit registration bugs right now, but that's a separate thing)
The buff I would give it would actually be Under Over - it's already disgusting against Overshield Barricades, so why not double down and make it the anti-overshield fusion
I dont mind this, its subtle but it might be all it needs. I would still add increased duration on the bolts tho
For Manticore I'm thinking of a complete rework as the animation of the weapon can fit it :
Intrinsic : Dealing damage to targets affected by a void debuff grants class ability energy. Additionally grant melee ability energy when dealing damage while having a void buff.
Exotic perk : Kills charge a higher damage burst shot that suppress on impact.
Totally different identity then what it currently is but I think either rework entirely or change the antigrav to be a passive boost to your own jump (better height, strafe etc)
My thought on Ex Diris is that paired with the right exotic armor, its super good in pve. I have two (Acr and Strand) with Mothkeepers Wraps and its a very nice add clear machine and if you add like 1 or possibly 2 special ammo finder mods, its really good. Just need to find the perfect combo.
My idea for Hardlight was to give it Voltshot, Repulsor Brace and Incandescent depending on the selected damage type.
Manticore fix = grants volatile while in the air and gains 10 overshield per kill
Symmetry buff = reloading after a kills grants voltshot, kills grant 1 stack headshots grant 2 towards the guns perk
another option for Symmetry would be for *every* shot in alt fire to apply jolted. Or perhaps for a number of precision hits to apply jolted. Along with intrinsic anti-overload.
For Ex Diris, it definitely needs s Range and Speed boost. But a cool change for borh is reducing the moth cool down by half first. If there is any left over moths, it will refund you ammo. Add Exotics for Warlock and Titan so different moths can exist, while also giving you the refund perk
Trespasser is actually really good especially if you pair it with mask of bakaris. That’s personally what I use and it’s really fun. Even tho we are living in a smg meta and that causes it to struggle it still holds its own with the bakaris damage buff and I’ve gone on some wild sprees with it
Edit: I will admit that it’s exotic perk isn’t super exotic and exiting but it does still go crazy. I think if the superburst did something like jolting it would be a better choice
I think the biggest problem with Manticore is how horrendous the floating feels, where it gets you stuck more than it helps you. The easy solution would be to make it work like Wings of Sacred Dawn where if you do damage while ADSing you float, and then when you un-ADS you immediately come back down. Another fun possibility would be the more you charge up Antigrav Repulsors, the faster your flying speed is

(Tresspasser): Kills with Trespasser massively increasing reload speed, Getting a kill with the Superburst loads an even more powerful Superburst *”10 round burst”* with increased rate of fire that will periodically spawn Ionic Traces on kills *”3 Ionic Traces”* regenerating ability energy.
For the heavy slot... Deterministic Chaos! Has anyone used it other then unlock it and test fire it? I think the change for it would be:" While firing damaging a weaken target this weapon gain bonus damage." Simple but yet effective. Love your video!! Cheers

(Symmetry): Precision kills does a delayed blinding explosion, *”Hereafter perk”* blinded enemies receive more damage from Symmetry, killing blinded enemies store extra stacks of Revolution.
Arc seekers from Revolution are more aggressive when tracking targets and Jolts enemies, More Revolution stacks increases Revolution’s rate of fire.
x5 = -5 rpm
x10 = -10 rpm
x15 = -20 rpm
x20 = -25 rpm
Getting kills with Revolution partially reloads Symmetry from reserves.
For Symmetry, make the catalyst a base part of the weapon, and when at 20 stacks of Revolution, each shot jolts the target.
Your recommendation for Telesto was actually how it used to work before it got changed and nerfed. Its buggy and inconsistent behavior caused it to become a huge target for bungo. If we were to extend the time the bolts lasted, we'd need to give people the opportunity to shoot them, which could end up causing the same problems all over again
nice blink transition

(Hard Light): Multi kills spawn an overcharged elemental pickup regenerating more ability energy.
Switching to each element type grants different perks, SOLAR = Incandescent, ARC = Volt Shot, VOID = Destabilizing Rounds.
Multikills increases handling, reload speed and airborne effectiveness.
8:23 maby if the glaive would be like a ark soul but it shoots at allies and heals em (and olsow heals you)
I think it would be awesome for hard light to get each elemental shot buff: Incandescent, Destabilizing Rounds, or Volt Shot
Edge of Intent should provide a shield in front of it that spawns a heal allies and buffs damage like a well of radiance, kinda like how void shield Titan has the shield block that buffs damage when shot though, or maybe it gives the players behind or near it radiant for extra damage as long as it's guarding while charged.
Prometheus lens already does scorch on hit, the catalyst also gives it incandescent. with ember of ashes you get a full ignition in about half the mag ( i havent checked the exact ammo needed in a while)
the fact that you can use it and ignitions are still pretty scarce is definitely telling. I’d like to see more scorch coming off this thing.
But separately with Cold Heart already making ionic traces I wouldn’t mind seeing Prometheus and Wavesplitter get the same treatment for their verbs. If nothing else give you the benefit of not needing to run those fragments when you’re using a trace
It requires you to hold the trigger down a bit to get the scorch
For manticore in pvp you should just be able to toggle the perk on and off. That way you can use it in combination with other movement to catch people off guard instead of just being sat on the ceiling as if it were the naughty step.
For the Power Weapon slot if you do another video ive got one ive always wanted to see
THE COLONY
First off Change The Colony to a Strand power weapon
Exotic Trait - Insectoids chase after enemies and release a threadling on detonation. Enemies also release threadlings when defeated by the Insectoid or it's threadlings.
Weapon Trait - Insectoid robot grenades quickly repopulate the magazine from reserves while the Colony is unequipped.
Catalyst - Increased ammo reserves and The Insectoids now also release several Unravelling Projectiles on detonation. When unravelled by the Colony the enemy continuously spawns Threadlings if the enemy is further damaged by the Colony or with any OTHER Strand Weapon
There we go Boss DPS And Add Clear rolled into one be a solid choice for rotations
Edge of intent is a great healing weapon all it needs is love and a great build. Lumina is great as well but its for close healing while intent can heal across the map.
I think a cool rework for hardlight could be like that when you get a kill bullets will chain from enemy to enemy kinda like yondus arrow from guardians of the galaxy for a certain amount of time, i feel like this keeps the power fantasy of the weapon alive or another could be it could get voltshot, volatile rounds or incandescent depending on element
For Manticore, some sort of reload peek would be very nice. Maybe kills while airborne fully reload the mag, or give insane reload speed, or something like that. Also just messing with the numbers. 45% damage output, 60% damage resist or more, antigrav repulsors shouldn't slow movement speed, and some way to get a void overshield would be cool, too. As for Borealis, the Ionic Return only gives one bullet, and doesn't even generate it; just pulls from reserves. Giving it Genesis would be better, but most likely not enough, but it would certainly help. Perhaps it could also overflow the mag. Also, I think Voltshot on Trespasser would be cool
the hard light idea sounds good
