Damn this video is making the rounds today
"Amare was dancing like Maury Povich just told him, 'You are NOT the father!'"
LOL that gets me every time. Taran's delivery is just so spot-on perfect!
The fried chicken joke made me laugh. Lol
Amasian
@@chrismuller3700 don't say that c-word.
“Ayo what’s up with all that man?”
Whoa whoa whoa, why you always saying fried chicken.... That's just LINsensitive!!!
2:24 "I'm finding the line!" Brilliant xD
Bill Hader is hilarious.
Great sketch, what I love about great satire is it can make you laugh through it then later you realise it had a good point
They don't seem to know how to do that anymore. It's now just one guy being weird and everyone else being weirded out, formula.
That's always been the formula. Bill Hader in this sketch is famous for being the weird guy that weird everyone out lol@@wyskass861
The double standard lol
Jasper Jamm @ that’s why it’s funny
😂😂😂😂

thats the whole point
@Yu Tao www.mediamatters.org/war-christmas/war-christmas-story-how-fox-news-built-dumbest-part-americas-culture-war
I feel bad for people that don't understand the point of this sketch.
@dank memester as Ian Goodman said, "It exposes the hypocrisy of American society with regard to racism toward Asians."
They don’t care about the point Shane Gillis was making a point doing a voice and they took it out of context and canceled him lmao I demand and apology for this
@@awilly556 I never saw him get cancelled for this
Still relevant, Lin has gone through his fair share of trials and tribulations and what's sad is he won't be getting his roses any time soon. People have got to stick together.
Absolutely. Afterall, we're all Lin this together
Honestly hopefully he's playing for the Love of the game. It's not all about money and prestige
@@stubbytexasranger 😂😂
Anyone else disappointed at how relevant this still is right now?
im happy that the issue is being brought to light. Its been happening for a long time and only now has it started to gain attention.
@@dynamiteSANTA Yeah it took more than a decade for it to finally come to light and people addressing it as an issue that needs to some reformation. Yet you still have some jackasses telling you to chill your tits and grow a sense of humor. Saying racism is funny or acceptable and especially if its targeted at Asians. Smh. I hope Biden's administration is actually gonna do something about it instead of being just for show.
unless they're asian my friend.. no.. they're not that dissappointed at all.
In this social media age, everyone just cares about their own tribe, but pretends to care about everyone. BLM just cares about black people. Feminists just care about women (mostly just white women.) Everyone is just into themselves. None of it is really about equality. But they all want to be seen as saints.
No
Damn, they dubbed him 😂
Double Standards: The Sketch. I'll always love this.
This is a perfect sketch.
Agreed, it's one of my all-time favorite SNL sketches, and one of the best social satires I've ever seen.
It's really on point and underrated how good the acting is
Wish I could play this in sociology classes and just watch the chaos ensue.
I guess they would cancel you for being racist if you did huh?
This makes a valid point about double standards. But it's ironic from a show that's never had an Asian cast member.
Never?
Fired armisen is a quarter Korean and I think some other actors have Asian heritage but I don't think there's been a cast member who's 100% Asian.
what do you want them to do, start some affirmative action type program?
@@tobaliciousholland12 They can't just hire someone because they're asian, that's the opposite of progressive.
@@tobaliciousholland12 Wow you waste no time before calling people racist. Are you implying that SNL intentionally doesn't hire asian people? World population doesn't mean shit if they're not applying for the job. I'm liberal as shit my dude and tbh I've always thought it was strange that there aren't any asians on SNL, but that doesn't mean they need to go find a token asian asap.
What an awesome clever sketch
One of the best SNL cold opens of all time PERIOD
The dubbing ahahaha!!
Bill Hader mixes in his impression of Alan Alda with a sprinkle of David Letterman to make the sportcaster here
Not gonna lie, that MSG joke was pretty hilarious lmao. And that exaggerated “Ha-hah!” during the interview looool.
But all seriousness, good sketch to bring awareness of the double standard lol
as an asian that msg joke was the best one out of the whole sketch. some chappelle levels to that one lol
The studio audience didn't make the connection between "MSG" and "Madison Square Garden."
That initial "ha-ha!" Was too much...Lol
I love the ending where the guy is fired and disappears, someone really enjoyed writing that
yo the fact that they led with this sketch is w i l d
Man, Asian racism was and is so acceptable.
Americans get on their high horse and attack Asia's morals, yet American media and society dehumanizes and ridicules Asians on a regular basis. How's that for morals?
It shouldn’t be but as an asian I don’t really care abt it anymore because I lived through all my life
we the punching bags!
Asians understand most people in general are ignorant. Including themselves at times. Too forgiving or too understandable? 🤔
Y'all do know that this was making fun of that right?
“Next time I’ll use my tiger claw technique! Go!”
Very underrated sketch 😂😂😂🤣🤣🤣👏👌
Hell no, the voice over when he already speaking engilsh😂😂😂 smh and when he said my homie Carmelo rolls in late 🤣 and I’m black. It’s okay to laugh at ourselves and each in good taste.
It's actually not really about "laughing at ourselves". It's about the double standards of race sensitivity in this country. For as down trodden as Blacks are in this country, we get to speak up for ourselves when racism is committed against us. Even if it's not always effective, we have our voice. Asians in this country for the most part have been unfortunately voiceless. That example was shown multiple times in this skit.
This is SNL at its best- funny, topical and biting.
I love this sattire.
I remember all the puns...they got old fast. The only time I followed all this, he was waiting to do, or to have something happen to him, as he crashed on his teammates couch.
FUCK OFF, YOU DONT EVEN KNOW WHAT IM TRYING TO SAY, Which is I remember when everyone was saying these puns when Jeremy Lin first stepped on the scene and that the puns got old and were not funny after the first few days. I see you like Howard Stern and the Debbie Downer skit, which much mean you have a sense of humor, so I'm not sure why you said what you said. Hopefully you dont think im being racist, unless Jeremy Lin is your favorite player of all time and anything anyone says about him, good or bad, pisses you off.
Such a good sketch!! I miss satire like this
That Jackie Robinson bit lol! The irony.
Love it from a show never had an Asian cast member b4!
Brilliant cold open..
They dubbed that guy😀like in those old time Chinese movies
That guy? LMFAO that’s Jeremy.
"He has been fired."
Welp, it took SNL to point out what I've been saying for years.
@president camacho because they are being gatekeeped by the white people in power and the blcak ppl that want to preserve whatever power was given to them as token blacks by white people
A lot of people have been saying it. It's just that the US is inherently racist and Asians vastly underrepresented
@@junkevin it's in American history and politics. The U.S. have had a rough fighting history with Vietnam, Korea, Japan, China, etc. so it's no wonder they have no interest in putting asian people/culture in any sort of good light. It's a problem that is going to become more and more prominent as the world develops
Omg that interview!!!
absolutely fantastic skit and satire here.
This sketch is great . funny lol
Brilliant.
This is epic. Holy shit we need one of these for every social specification.
Says the white dude who knows not one iota of being racially degraded and is usually the one causing division by being the originator of racial slurs. Get back up on your high horse and stop pretending to be woke
I hope Jeremy Lin will host SNL in the future
Chris Su that would be great!
They could write a lot of Jackie Chan sketches for him to be in. That wouldn't be stereotypical at all.
Wow this is genius and fucking hilarious.. That dubbing thou! Lmaoo!
The fricken dub hhh
WTF this deserves AT LEAST a million more views, especially now! This is an airtight sketch!!
Give it time, the mob is amassing.
How accurate lol
People become extremely sensitive when even a sign of potential discrimination against African Americans show up. But when it comes to racism towards Asian Americans, all of a sudden there's no offense lin-tended.
I like Scotland,France and Asia. They are beautiful places. I have never gone but I always wanted to visit those places.
"...Don't say chicken..."
It's ok to pun asians.........but black guy???? That's Racist. This is Social Commentary haha Love it.
sentaiaddict @ I’m Black and was thinking the same thing - and that’s real talk lol
But there have been are way more Black jokes in the media than Asian jokes. But we need are more white jokes!
sentaiaddict wtf how is it going ok to pun Asians but no blacks? Fuck you
@@youtubehandle8339 Whoosh. Look up what social commentary is.
the point is that it's not ok to be racist to anybody
Watching in 2019 when Jeremy Lin is an NBA Champion.
Free ring
1/30 chance 😂😂
Man this is just sad and but true
Just let the guy play in peace ☮️
Incredible skit
I'm happy Bill Hader got to pay homage to his Asian martial arts films-video store clerk days
That dubbing 😂😂😂
I love this if you make an asian stereotype it's okay but if you talk about black people its considered offensive 😂
Because it is offensive and discriminatory. Take the joke about black people being late for work. This is a stereotype that is born out of the general stereotype that black people are inherently lazy. Shit like this then plays like a record in a hiring manager's head when a black candidate for a role comes across their desk. I highly doubt jokes about asians loving rice and having buck teeth have not hindered their financial mobility in the US one fucking bit. Yeah, SNL makes light of this racism double standard but in reality it is night and day where black racism is systemic and asian racism are just jokes in poor taste.
@@wjb4578 lmao you are a fucking moron.
@@wjb4578 financial mobility isn't the only thing. Some Asians don't want to be doctors or engineers. Good luck finding an acting job though if the stereotype for Asians is unattractive asexual nerds who are awkward. Stop pretending like these depictions don't hurt Asians, as just because we're financially stable doesn't mean the media depiction of us should be allowed. Not to mention you're eating up white supremacist propaganda with the whole buying into the model minority myth. Tons of Asians come from impoverished backgrounds and nothing is done for them because "Hey Asians are doing alright".
@@wjb4578 Shutup
@@wjb4578 why are blacks always trying to win the Oppression Olympics?
That's the thing about NBA and the entire Hollywood.
They can't stand someone saying racist talk about black people.
But they feel okay to joke about an hardworking Asian.
This sketch is talking about this situation l guess.
But still, allow me to declare, I love all human race.
It's just not feeling right for me seeing this atmosphere flowing around and letting people getting to feel right about it.
+Rachel Yu The funny thing is, Asian can get away with black jokes
+Webz Cruiser You know, we actually can't.
Rachel Yu
Yeah, Rachel -- those are the uses of satire: we get to talk about a phenomenon without killing each other. A deadly earnest comment like yours, however, kills both the mood and the conversation.
Rachel Yu shut up
Everything is earned, Rachel. They have racially joked on Black people since American began. Their history is deeper. Asians get more respect than Native Americans. No one stands up for them because their numbers are so small. Plus Asians still have their own country to go to that is not controlled by whites. Asians know their history, culture and surnames. You'll get over it.
My homie Carmelo rools in late..lmfao
Jeremy Lin deserves to be in the NBA!
I lold at the gong
Classic sketch!
The Kobe fried chicken thing lol
Even today
Nothing has changed
This aged well

I’m finding the line ! Haha
I lost it when Jeremy Lin spoke, Almost fell out my damn chair lol
So true
oh my goodness
I read the book Linspired it was good
How does this have so few views it's genius and actually funny rather than just clever
Because it would trigger the self righteous woke elite of this day to consider their own hypocrisy
The audio man, I'm dying

Mostly he just really likes the Ducks' sauce.
Should've had Shaq as a guest commentator on that panel.

Bill Hader almost looks like he's impersonating David Tennant's incarnation of Doctor Who here..
