Those squirrels are uncultured for hating on this masterpiece. 🐿️ 🐿️ 🐿️
They literally are uncultured bc they’re wild animals lmao
Well, she is grieving while she is also trying to finish this on her own. Makes sense she is a little off key :( she just lost her master in the attack. I missed this interaction on my first playthrough so going to do it on my second.
Squirrels are an absolute menace in this game. Lol
Agreed!!
@@humanoidrkangelshe’s not though 😂 off key, that is
I love how this point you can see all your companions just smiling while they listen. Even the grouchiest of them can appreciate this song
EXCEPT FOR THE SQUIRRELS.
I HATE THEM
@@nekonayah oh boy you should play dark urge if you hate squirrels then lol
@@highdefinition450 no thanks

@@nekonayahNot down to kick a field goal with a shit talking squirrel? They are sitting there by her talking the maddest shit about her too. I kill them for her, not for Bhaal.
It hits different in my Dark Urge play through.
):
Legit hearing this on CZcams after knowing what happened to her in a Durge playthrough. I immediately went into tears.
You can save her as dark urge, but she will hate you through the whole game. You have to break her friend's lute and knock her out.
The bad news is that other likeable character will take her place.
You only have to knock her out.
Alfira will not hate you if you put her to Sleep and then one hit KO her.
Turn on non-lethal,
Have Gale or whoever cast Sleep on her,
Put Wyll's default rapier in Asterion's hand because it's the best finesse weapon at this point and sneak attacks want finesse weapons,
Asterione dual wield sneak attack Alfira
Maybe add a tiny bit of a buff.
Should definitely hit for 25+ dmg or have a good chance to
Dark Urge players hiding their faces right now...
Made the mistake of befriending her as The Dark Urge...
The mother of all gut punches holy shit....
You can save her but it requires giving her a concussion before taking a long rest lmao
@@GrammerPancreasand all you do is trade her life for someone else's
@@tjdragon7993 Well if you're going the redemption run saving the grove, she appears in both acts 2 and 3.
I roleplayed as a Dark Urge who tried to surpress his urges and hoped that perhaps music would help him remember his past. He was disappointed that he couldn't play, but was happy that Alfira took the time to teach him, at the same time helping her finish the lyrics for The Weeping Dawn. When Alfira found their camp and offered to journey alongside them, The Dark Urge was delighted! A new friend, music to soothe the beast in his mind, and perhaps stories of the past tho help him learn of his own.
When he awoke the next morning to discover his horrible deeds, The Dark Urge wept. He mourned Alfira. He truly looked forward to traveling alongside her. He begged Withers to bring her back. He didn't run from his misdeeds. Even though his companions forgave him and blamed it on the mindflayer tadpoles, The Dark Urge took up the lute and promised on that morning, he would continue Alfira's legacy. He would play the song she put all her heart into everywhere he went. The Weeping Dawn.
Farewell, my dear old friend.
somehow this feels like the true canonical story, since Durge might be the actual MC of the lore if we strip away our custom Tavs.
My favorite part of this song is around 1:00 when the invisible violin bards suddenly join in.
No that’s me playing as the bard ☺️
Dance upon the stars tonight
Smile and pain will fade away
Words of mine will turn to ash
When you call the last light down
Moon reminds me of your grace
All the love I can't repay
Rest and know that I will pray
Farewell my dear old friend
Moon, sun, all remind me of your grace
Faith, care, all the love I can't repay

Going in blind, I helped Alfira finish her song and was absolutely destroyed with emotion upon hearing this ballad.
My best friend passed last year, and was a massive DnD fan. I picked up Baldurs Gate 3 for him mostly, to play it in his place.
The day I heard this song in game just so happened to be his birthday. No such thing as circumstance, huh?
Thank you so much for this beautiful ballad, it absolutely gut punched me in the best kind of way.
Farewell my dear old friend~

i can feel ya...
This masterpiece is so good in conveying emotions.. I never met Alfira's teacher, I am even don't catch her name. But i will lament her loss just because i was touched by this song.
This moment in the story is when I really strapped in and said, "Okay. I'm in for something big." I was already casually having fun prior to this encounter, but this cutscene was amazing. It was the first time I noticed how Larian made your character move and interact during dialogue.
I distinctly remember a portion where my characters arms went from crossed, to hands on his hips, and smiling with a smirk. And the smile SPECIFICALLY read to me, "I'm so proud of you. Look what you made".
Really made me appreciate this sequence, and consequentially, the rest of the game. I love this sequence so much. I'll never forget it.
Im so... sooooo happy that I had picked Bard for my first playthrough. It was perfection. Helping Alfira felt like more than just finishing a Song. It felt like healing wounds that can never be closed.
I love the fact that you don't even need a bard to help, in fact you don't even need any skill checks, I watched someone inspire her purely by saying the right thing. But nothing beats the Bard helping inspire her
I fuckin missed it as my bard playthrough and I am actually so so sad about it lmao
My barbarian helped her think things through, really wished I had some musical ability to help play along though
@@strifenineteen if you help her with lute your character will earn performer perk even being a barbarian ^^

Any Dark Urgers here to cry?
Ya, that was the biggest gut punch I ever got playing a game
Yep
My dark urge cries with her in act 3 bar. Shes safe :)
i wanted her so bad in my camp...
Really devastating. Took Performer after that to keep playing her song for her
Finishing this little questline and the cutscene that followed is when I started making less selfish choices in-game. It's when my character realized that these people are going to die unless he tries to help, and maybe even if he turns into a mind flayer, he can at least do one good thing before he goes. A hero made with a song.
Such a beautiful song, always helped Alfira finish it.
Yeah, well.. I killd her. But it wasnt me! I swear! :/
@@Kotwurf Gives you great motivation to resist the urge tho. Squirrel kicking is one thing, but her death was really shocking.
@@Kotwurf butchered her and showed her proudly to my team we are not the same 😈
She gave me beautiful robe after I rescue her kindlings from the moon tower.
Spoiler/useful info:
If you knock her out before the camp scene, you can save her because she doesn't show up at your camp. Somebody else does and you kill them.
I definitely did not expect this when I was on my first playthrough, I was blown away after helping her, such a beautiful song
Same for me. They absolutely went above and beyond with game.
I must have failed this check smh didn’t retry it or something now I feel like I missed it (currently just started act 3)
Great to hear the finished song. Brings a smile to my face.
Such a wonderful little hidden gem of a cutscene. NGL I cried so much, my dad passed away recently it's his birthday today, and this song really just brought all the emotions back
My condolences, stranger
I had to sit with this scene for awhile too, lost a good friend before I ever felt like I had a chance to do a tenth of what he did for me.
Beautiful sentiment you don't see brought up much, especially in something like a video game. That pain of loss is only amplified when you feel indebted to them, here's one to your pops, and one to a loveably dumb PJ everyone just called Rutt.
I imagine my Bard Tav duetting this song with Alfira so much. he never got to meet the person it's tributed to, but the respect he has for Alfira is so great, and they're best friends. Post story, Alfira joins him, Gale and Shadowheart on journeys across Faerun.
Alfira the goat bard. Beautiful song
The Music is one of the most importatnt things for immersion in a Game and THIS one is epic !
When it kicks in at 1:00 I get goosebumps.
Me tooooo!
Too bad it sort of dies after the breakdown.
This was really the most special and unexpected moment in a game I've seen in a while, and when I reflect on what had made this game such a joy to play this is like the arch example. Getting to share this quiet moment of grief with Alfira, an ordinary refugee, and see her begin to move on. I was so shocked when thr full song cinematic started. It was absolutely breathtaking to see the full thing come together. Deeply moving moment in a deeply moving game.
And then because I was playing DUrge, well, it became another, sadder defining moment for my playthrough... My paladin took Performer because of this song. Alfira may have written this for her teacher, but now Kasander plays it for her to keep her memory alive. Rest in peace Alfira. You deserved better than I gave you.
I'm so sorry Alfira

Failing to control the urge at times makes the story better
@@ferael0013 then do it, its such a worthy experience. God i wish I could play it again with my memories wiped clean of this game.
RIP Alfira
I was expecting her to sing it like she did during practise, terribly and out of tune but when this started playing and she started singing I got the same reaction as my character, just sat there and listen to entire song and wanted to clap at the end.
Simply Amazing that this is a sidequest. They had a beautiful song in Divinity aswell... but you had to defeat Adremalic to hear it.
Allways pick Lohse
I was playing a bard when I encountered this scene. Made it easy to complete but was not expecting the reward we were given. Such an amazing song/hidden cinematic. Worth exploring every single part of the world in this game.
Yet another absolute masterpiece
Beautiful MasterPiece
I just got here last night with my Bard. Was nice to help here find the lyrics for this heartfelt lament as a bard/PLD
As a oath of vengeance paladin when she told me that gnolls killed her teacher i immediately set off to the high road to slaughter every gnoll i could find.
You beautiful hero.

This was my favorite cutscene in the whole game hands down. I'm just so sad she isn't a recruitable companion. I want her as a bard in my party!!!!

So close, and yet so far, to have her be a recruitable Bard for your your party.
The Weeping Urge
I was having fun playing the game. Familiar yet improved mechanics and great graphics that ran flawlessly on my older desktop. When I came up on Alfira and she sang this song I snapped to attention. I hadn't realized the masterpiece that I was getting myself into. Incredible and it changed my mindsets dynamic. Now I feel completely engrossed in the game and awash in the depth of the world and the struggles of each character. I've been gaming for 30 years and this is the pinnacle of all that time. Thank you to all involved.
The moment she started singing I leaned on my chair, I FELT something magnificent was coming.
Was not disappointed.
Reminds me of my old martial arts master. I will not let his efforts rest in vain, thank you, shihan. 🙏
Gorgeous song. Amazing soundtrack. Incredible game.

Thank you so much for your wonderful music!
Never been as glad to fail a skill check as I was first time I tried to help the character finish this song. Because it meant that this absolute beauty was waiting to surprise me in my second playthrough.
Dark urge can have never have happiness.....
Such an absolutely amazing game
I was blown away by this scene in game so beautiful
Real tear jerker this one
This song as well as its presentation in game is one of the most beautiful moments in the recent years I've experienced in gaming.
What a wonderful song, always end up getting goose bumps when it comes up.
Actually playing DnD makes me realize that Long Rests pass time, so I felt REALLY pressured to run t the Goblin Camp... After getting done with it, I found Alfira and realized I'd never met her before. Then I watched my Dad play it and realized that not only had I missed the HArpies, but missed out on this song. Genuinely my ONE regret about my playthrough!
The bard who sings this is so sweet. I sure would feel bad if anything happened to her! : D
Well... this is awkward...
Just don't play as Dark Urge then.
@@yuriyklim6381 Or side with the Goblins. I suspect she is killed when they raid the grove.
Lieber Borislav, Dieses Lied trifft mich direkt ins Herz ... so schön, mir kommen immer wieder Tränen, wenn ich Weeping Dawn höre. Danke von ganzem Herzen.
Magic voice

This song is when I truly fell in love with this game, and when I realized it was a labor of love for the developers.
We are all here because we felt emotion from that shit man, rip teach.
It feels diffirent after playing as Dark Urge
I had no Idea this would happen after I talked to her. This song of thankfulness and forgifness in front of the druids ritual, who are (in part) ready to sacrifice a child for their own safety....
Goosebumps everytime. Alfira needs protection at all costs
been playing as the dark urge recently and i only have one thing to say: *IM SORRY ALFIRA!*
I am so sad I didn't find this on my first playthrough with my Sorcerer- but so happy that I found it on my second playthrough whilst playing a bard. It just felt like it was meant to be. I really want Alfira as an NPC/origin character soon!!!
I knew what would happen in a Dark Urge playthrough , so I made it a point to pass the checks to learn to play the Lute , so after the unfortunate accident happens , my Durge would play the lute in any place that had people around , in memory of Alfira and honoring her desire to make other people smile .
This song is my favorite
Sorry for what I did in my sleep.
It is so beautiful ♥
I was so floored by this. I went the "ad hoc therapy" route to help her finish the song. Stuff like "What would you say to her if you could" and similar. I wasn't expecting her to bust out in song, but when she did I was floored. I actually teared up. If there was anyone I wanted to bring to my camp, it was her. That fact she's not recruit able as a bard companion is criminal.
In fact, I don't think there are any recruitable bard companions
I remember on my first play through, I was playing a Monk who was your classic level-headed, inner-thinking type, who always saw the big picture and could advocate for almost any point of view in his pursuit for spiritual neutrality and balance. When I found Alfira, I did the same thing you did, helping her think inwards, to create a song from her heart rather than her mind. And when she started playing, my cheeks hurt from smiling, I was so proud of her.
You can imagine how ecstatic I was when she arrived in my camp later wanting to join me, and how mortified I was after what happened that following night….
Wonderful game and soundtrack
song name is a big foreshadow to Durge after waking up.
It hits heavier if your class is supposed to be a paladin or even another bard.
Was so pretty. I had to switch to headphones to enjoy it with the dishwasher going on behind me. But now I can rehear it here.
So I have no idea how, but I was 200+ hours in and on my 3rd playthrough before I actually heard this song. Not sure how I missed her all through early access and my first two runs
...Always help her, always sit back in one's chair and just... Listen. Eyes closed... Peace.
Still waiting for a patch where Alfira sings that "raunchy ballad" I requested. Something tells me it'll be a song about Lae'zel pegging the MC though.
I've only heard this song for the first time yesterday because I missed the whole eastern area of the grove during my 3 previous runs...
This is my second Durge run, so I already know Alfira's fate... FML.
I can't let this happen. I've heard you can "save" her by knocking her out before the tieflings leave, and someone else dies in her place. I think I'll do that.
I find it outstanding that this song and The Power is performed by the same artist, Ms Ivanova. Such a marvellous talent and vocal range, she sounds so different here compared to the other song, at first I thought these were performed by two different singers. I'm in love with this OST, just like I was with DOS 2 one. Big kudos to such great artists and composers! Makes me looking forward to BG3 expansions/DLCs/spinoffs/sequels, give me anything.
It wasn't till 0:46 that I was like damn who was in the studio for this lol
Hits extremely different doing a Bard dark urge run
I missed this scene in the game in my first play through, all I can say is I'm definitely not going to do that in the next.
I will always help Alfira finish this, even on a D-urge play through! Gorgeous.
D-urge helping her then weeping after waking up and seeing his mess makes more canon sense.
Finished 2 full playthroughs without ever hearing this song... How tf is that possible?
In the druid's grove, there's a beachy area called Secluded Cove. Go on the right and you'll find the tiefling lady Alfira, who'll be in the middle of writing this song
Help her finish it and you'll get a special cutscene with the whole song 😁
Dark urge like it))
If a yone first time hearing this in game didn't smile from ear to ear or almost break down in tears... your something else but this us a masterpiece on the level if the witcher 3 taver song
I remember my very first play through I didn’t help the refugees and one day I decided to walk around to find all them dead on the side of the road and I see her and almost cried😭
I savescummed this a few times to try and get the Phat Lute as a Bard, but in the end decided the only way to experience it was to walk away with no Phat Lute and a beautiful song in my heart.
this song is the reason why I kick Timber every play through
I didn’t trigger her conversation as Tav( first play through) but trigger it when I play as Dark urge (second play through)
So the first time I finally heard her singing just end terribly in the end.
I hate myself for apparently missing this scene
i have a durge playthrough (his name is karma). i knew what was going to happen since it was my second durge playthrough.
spoiler warning for those who haven't played with the dark urge origin
my idea for this playthrough was that karma would try to resist the urge at first and try to genuinely be good and make meaningful relationships, and he'd basically fall for alfira, her determination to finish this song in honour of her lost friend despite everyone in the grove panicking over the danger of the goblins and the druids wanting to kick them out, as well as how happy and excited she was to join the party after being inspired by karma. but we all know what ends up happening to alfira if you play as the dark urge. after that, he'd basically give up on trying to fight it and shut off his emotions, simply indulging those urges so he doesn't end up losing control. but he'd still remember alfira, he'd still mourn for her, he'd keep her lute close to him (and her friend's lute safely in the camp), and while he's no bard, he'd often sing her song to himself, for *her*. since the song basically talks about a dead friend and how you admire them, so it's very fitting
You know you don't HAVE to kill her as a Durge, right?
@@GuitarGuy057 you know you don't get a choice in that, right?
🥰
To think I only found this on my 4th playthrough..
Alfrira: 🎶🪕

So, basically, what I'm getting from this is... I can never EVER do a Dark Urge playthrough. Ever.
Knock her out before the long rest and she is replaced and still alive
