The song that convinced me I would absolutely get murdered if I ever encountered sirens
Im gay...yet, id get murdered as well
@ Oh listen it's nothing to do with romance/sexuality for me, I'm just a sucker for pretty music
They deff fuckin nailed it
😂 yep, I'm done for.
Same. Absolutely.
"Your favourite drownings all take place in shallow water."
The face Tav makes while thinking it😂💀
@@Sacred_Korok69 Tav and Durge are two seperate characters
@@Echo_ohc3 bruh i know 💀 i play as durge all the time but since i always costumize her i refer to my character as Tav no matter what.
when Durge said that I did the full whiplash spin like "excuse me ma'am what"
Just cut the ankle tendons 💀💀
This song charmed more players than characters
Criminally underrated comment

I wonder who was NOT just hanging around and listening to that for a while. 🙂
@@FoxySocks Apparently, everyone stayed it seems lol.
Stay a while and listen ;)
_Me:_ *Oh my, what a sweet song...*
_My Party:_ *Watch out, there are Harpies! Its dangerous!*
_Me (after a long day of work):_ *Just shut up and let me die in peace!*
mood
Was legitimately not expecting the harpies, but the singing so close to the water made me think "DID THEY PUT SIRENS IN THE GAME??"
you know the first sirens in culture were harpy, harpy living near the sea but still harpy with nest and all, nothing to do with fish. The sirens of the ulysse Odyssée are harpy
Same here, but then I thought “aren’t they sea based? This is a river isn’t it?”
@@arthurchassang2297 you do know there are sirens in mythologies all around the world right? of course they aren't called sirens, but they differ from culture to culture. in some places they are mermaid-like, and in others they aren't. but it stays the same, a charming feminine figure typically with good singing skills.
I THOUGHT THEY WERE GONNA BE SIRENS TOO!! I was like; 'How are they gonna pull _this_ off?'
Indeed and I was confused to hell and back, because I was looking for everybody's favourite horned songstress and thought "wait, that doesn't sound like her, and why am I suddenly thinking about Odysseus and wearing earplugs?"
I guess you could say...
This song work like a charm 😎
Badum-TSSS
Stop
Accurate 😆 🤣
song unironically charmed me in my first playthrough lmao I ended up just like that thiefling kid
I had just listened to Alfira sing beautifully, so I was definitely in a bardy mood!
But then I realized that this was leading me towards the water/beach and thought NO! SIREEEEN!
they are kinda the only really mean thing missing that is also loved... @@nickdubie6179

@dragoninthewest1 They are unfamiliar with the custom. You must educate them on matters of this… Fay-Run.
I love that this beautiful theme is in one small section of the game that has no particular significance in terms of plot -- and in any other game this would be a major revelatory moment or an endgame theme. This is what makes the game so marvelous. You get to hear THIS just because you walked down a dirt path to nowhere.
Is someone singing?
This is the Part i realised, everything i do is purely optional
@@rupok90 Yes :)
you're kind of overstating how this song would be used in other games lol, plenty of games have absolute masterpieces for the most mundane of locations or events lmao
@@highdefinition450honestly this music gave me a majestic haunting vibe. It's a really great piece of the soundtrack.
The first time I came to the harpie's shore, I spent about 5 minutes listening to the singing. It's absolutely magic🥰😌
My dude failed his wisdom save in real life.
Same XD
@@ExtremePanda121Yeh I defs did fail it IRL to NGL.
@@ExtremePanda121 I'd fail it again to listen just a bit more...
Preach. Charmed
This song is so good it breaks the fourth wall. It makes me the player go "Well, I could attack the one singing and get control of the low WIS sorcerer again, but the song is really REALLY pretty"
Challenge: "Make a simple hymn that must appear as if it can actually magically lure you to your death"
Borislav: *Challenge accepted...and done!*
If you are here, you've been Lured
Shadowheart: that song where’s it coming from?…it’s beautiful
Also Shadowheart: gets charmed when battle starts then merked💀
It's hard to imagine how Harpies or Sirens would sound, but this is an amazing attempt.
People who did hear their actual singing were never seen again...
The water queen temple sounds like sirens as well
It's the power choral version
What do you mean? They sound exactly like that.
That's the trick. They sound like whatever you wanna hear the most.
What's that sweet sound... *hmmph* better go find out it's so pleasant.
What are you doing? Get away from the water!
@@NeverUseAnApostropheNo... just listen
Some random Dragonborn Bard with a Lute: *Countercharm!* 🎶
I love how they implemented a unique song that fit into the scene and was relevant to the event you ran across. I haven't seen music implemented into a game this well since the great mighty poo from conkers bad fur day
hahahahaha thanks, i've forgotten that one
“Have some more caviar”
I love how even after you’ve killed them, the Harpy theme still plays in the area, but a slight variation. Nice touch.
Zelda has amazing musical significance
Wait until you fight Raphael... I must have sat there for a good 20 mins just listening to that song.
The moment you hear this, you immediately roll a wisdom saving throw, and most probably you fail because it really is captivating.
I absolutely love this song. Something about the vocals and the melodic, aquatic instrumentation takes me back to my childhood, listening to Enya every day with my mother. Such a beautiful composition.
We needed more harpy encounters in the game
or a siren one...if they make an expansion... since back in 3.5 harpy around 350 to 400 exp and siren from 1 to 2k... a underwater city with a simmilar theme could work...
Dragons's Dogma as them too although they make your party sleep.
Can we blame the kid for walking towards the harpy when I walked my entire party... STRAIGHT INTO THE SEA TRYING TO FIND WHO WAS SINGING
Such a good song for just a small side event!!
This song alone made the harpy fight so worthwhile, even with the challenge.
Just a terrific soundtrack, perhaps the best of any game I've experienced.
I might suggest Nier: Automata. Not just the music, the game is brilliant as well
@@QuayNemSorrthat’s my #2. Outstanding music
There is no "most repeated" section in this song. You just listen all the way through, it truly is hypnotic.
Most repeated section is the beginning so we can all listen to it again XD
*Paul Anthony Romero,* a true legend in my eyes, is the composer responsible for the ethereally captivating soundtracks of "Heroes of Might and Magic" and the "Might and Magic" series, around 20 to 25 years ago. He still continues his remarkable work on the Heroes series to this day. His music played a pivotal role in my deep connection for the piano and my journey to becoming a pianist today. To me, these soundtracks stand as the pinnacle of musical composition for any video game.
Now, I extend my admiration and respect to you, *Borislav Slavov,* who, without a doubt, has rapidly earned legendary status alongside Paul Anthony Romero. Especially in creating "Raphael's Final Act," is nothing short of awe-inspiring. Use of the organ, the chorus.. everything was perfect!
Having had the privilege to meet Paul, I hope to one day have the same privilege with you, Borislav. Thank you both for your brilliance, your hard work, and my heartfelt gratitude to you and the entire team that contributed to crafting these astonishingly beautiful musical masterpieces.
As a devoted old-school gamer, Heroes and Baldur's Gate stood as my all-time favorite games. Heroes had Paul, and now, after 22 years break, my beloved Baldur's Gate has you! What an incredible turn of events.
PS: Don't get me wrong, old Baldur's Gate musics were very beautiful too.. but there is clearly so much more work put into it this time, combined with brilliant people, the result is fantastic.
Oh wow, I kinda felt like this has this old Homm series vibe to it and would be perfect as title song or something if they ever were to revive the genre in a decent form. Homm2 grasslands theme is one of my all time favorite in game songs :)
Yea but who is behind those beautiful voices?
@@STR8L8CED I think it's harpies! 😊
@@STR8L8CED Ohh I am not sure about the soprano, but Raphael's voice actor is Andrew Wincott. He had no prior experience in musicals, as far as I know they worked day and night with Borislav for a few weeks for "Raphael's Final Act" masterpiece, it is mind blowing I know, people work years for this perfection.
In "Harpy Song" there is two or three vocals I believe, haven't had the chance to analyze it as closely as Raphael's Final Act, but it is mesmerizing as the name suggests.
The composition is flawless. There's really nothing else to be said.
Goosebumps. Larian knew what they were doing.
What's amazing, apart from the melody itself, is the way it's sung. With just the perfect blend of sweetness and fierceness. The vocals and harmonies are perfectly just a bit too forceful, almost violent, to be harmless, you can almost feel the eagerness to lure you in, which adds the sense of danger to the sweet allure. Fantastic.
When I listened to this music I just stood ashore for a couple of minutes, lit a joint and enjoyed the moment. What a game. I'm still in Act 1, 40 hours already.
Are you going to do an extended version of any other tracks? Extended Raphael's Final Act would be amazing
Yes 😉
@@borislav_slavov Please do "Wash My Pain Away" and extend the part with the violin 🙏 🙏
@@borislav_slavov I would love it if you do Legacy of Bhaal in the perspective of the Dark Urge, the current theme is already awesome but something that differs it from Orin and Sarevok Anchev would be great
@@borislav_slavov would the "restless dream" song come back? also CZcams seems block 3 video in the playlist. it says 3 unplayable videos are hidden.
@@borislav_slavov YESSS THANK YOU!!!! another one that would be amazing - the song that plays at the tiefling party celebration, which uses the same notes as the harpy song but it's more upbeat. I love that one so much
This song legitimately takes my breath away. I almost died, not becuase of the "luring song" status effect on my characters, but because I was charmed in real life and didn't want the song to end 😅
The fact it was so beautiful me IRL didn't want it to stop wow. My IRL character failed all his saving throws and got lured by the song lol
BG3 is so good that this song is making me nostalgic for a part in the game that I played like 2 weeks ago.
I walked near the shore, hearing distant singing. It was beautiful. I knew exactly what I was in for. I knew it was going to be a siren of sorts. But I kept on anyway, desperate to get closer. I chose to be silent and listen, instead of encouraging the child to leave. I listened with him, knowing it would bring death, exactly as a siren song should. And death it brought...but it was so worth it. I did not want to end their song.
Loved this moment. Magical. Thanks for the extended version.
I wouldn't really mind getting torn to shreds by harpy claws if it sounded like this.
😩
This is such an ethereally beautiful song. Most all of your music is but so many tracks between divinity and now BG have really touched me. Thank you for composing, thank you for sharing!
Loved the way this blended in and added vocals to the background theme
I just sat there before ending turn enjoying the song
And they sung it all the way into the ocean I shoved them in bless them!
This track is extremely good! Also, "Raphael's Final Act" was one of the most incredible moments in all my gaming life. Totally unexpected, and in a "side quest" of the game. It was just OMG. Thank you sir, you're amazing.
EDIT: I really "hope" you do an extended + remastered version of it! (pun intended :D)
"Hope". HAHAHA! such a tease.
I get the impression that, being magical and hypnotic, a siren's song would be something you feel more than you hear, so it's difficult to convey that in a videogame. Still, I think the fact that I deliberately procrastinated taking action against the harpies so I could hear them sing means they got as close as it's possible to get. The gentle, haunting melody, relaxing like a lullaby, but promising something just out of sight... yeah, this is a siren's song alright.
i mean meeting Alfira was a great and i loved her song... BUT this encounter made it clear that the game would be a unique experience!
Such a soothing and mesmerizing melody. It almost makes you fall for the harpys' trap because you just want to listen to it. Great work from the composers and singers.
Did not think this could get any better. Your work is amazing!
I remember I gasped when I heard this it is so lovely and captures a harpy/siren song perfectly or how it should sound, rather.
The fact this is a single encounter in the game but leaves such an insanely large impact on each player speaks to how good this song is. It really is breathtaking.
This is so painfully beautiful, it has me weeping. Thank you
Literally left my character just standing there for a good 10 minutes. I just made a cup of tea and sat drinking closing my eyes in between sips. They really knocked it out of the park with this one
There's a reason BB3 won all those awards Spider-Man dorks were on some serious copuim.
I have a lot on my mind and...well, in it.
I restarted the game this weekend and before that I never found this part of the coast, then this haunting theme came on, I was just as beguiled as the characters. Amazing work.
Just one of the most beautiful sounds my ears have ever been blessed to hear.
As the pawns say in Dragons dogma, “Beware the harpy’s song.”
This would absolutely work on me. I'd walk, entranced, straight into the harpies den like a fat kid in a candy store.
Is it weird of me to consider this The Dark Urge's theme in my head canon? Lol
Yes. Has nothing to do with Durge lol. Borislov uploaded a song for Durge called "dark March" or something like that
That may as well be Dark Urges theme
Wow, this music is so pretty it makes me want to walk directly into the ocean!
I heard this song at a wedding today 😅
Your chest fills with yearning. You want to get closer - you *need* to get closer.
I've always wanted to see a friendly harpy in a game like this. Like- one that sings just because they love to sing. Not to feed or anything malicious.
.. such a pretty song..
My friend, you're amazing. Thank you for your work and for making BG3 such an amazing and atmospheric game!
Extended and remastered?? Wow, wishes really can come true. Thank you so much, Borislav!
Lots of genius in this tune. It somehow combines the legendary allure of the harpy song with the unsophistication of its wielder: As if the harmonization is the result of instinct rather than any intrinsic true appreciation for music.
played as a bard and snapped out of the trance but didn't want to wake up the others so I could continue hearing the song
Harpy songs just be hella powerful because in my latest playthrough Lae'zel (of all people) commented on how beautiful it was
Wisdom save: fail!
This is easily one of the most addictive songs I've heard from a video game...or movie...or TV show...or anywhere. Larian did some top-tier quality work, and the musicians/singers deserve heaps of praise. HEAPS!
Wisdom save: fail!
I rarely even notice any music in movies or video games other than maybe a main theme, and I certainly don't purchase their soundtracks or sing their praises. This soundtrack however, captivated me at so many points in the game that I had to purchase it. The game may be one of the best that I've ever played, but the soundtrack by itself is by far the greatest I've ever heard.
Hearing this in Baldurs gate gave me that feeling that I got when I played skylanders as a child
The place where I wanted to stay because of the music))
Ngl I was high when I got to the first Harpy fight and I was STRUGGLING to pay attention to the fight instead of this music.
Absolutely gorgeous piece
You are irresistible as always ❤
alright lemme paint yall a picture
SO
i was wondering around the druid grove and came across this song when i did i stood there for hours upon hours listening to this song then decided to continue exploring ran into the harpies and during the fight stopped for a few more hours listening to this song
My car keys after half a bottle of vodka:
An entire quality song for a single encounter that you never get again. That Tiefling with the afro was waiting a while......
Nice addition at the end! Great remaster!
Seriously Larian thought of everything, didn't they? Legit this beautiful music drew ME in!
Well F*** me. Harpies got me and i ain't even mad. 10/10
I really don't cry often - only at the end of The lord of the rings! - but on this song I thinkI could!
"A beckoning finger pulls you forward toward welcoming wings. Becoming a feast for harpies doesn't seem all that bad you think..."
I like how the this tune is so pleasant that it gives you the sense that something isn't quite right.
This is my lo-fi beats to study to
Oooooh that sneaky dissonance creeping in during the last five seconds...love it.
Honestly just the fact that this peaceful serenade completely overtakes all the battle music whenever one of the harpies is singing is the touch that makes it work so well.
Fighting for our lives, spilling blood and yelling hopeless warnings at our charmed allies with this in the background has a kind of dissonance to it that's both eerie and beautiful.
...like a siren. Huh.
Mentally I am living in Fâerun, in large part because impeccable soundtrack 🤧
You know what? You also fell for the harpies charm and impending death until you got strange dialogue options and you selected them.
Can't you hear it? It's beautiful. ~
Yeah, i fail my roll everytime i heard this song... Good job M. Slavov...
Me and a friend split up, he went to the harpies while I went to Afira, both captivated by their songs, my friend and I was both trapped, I was trapped in a conversation and he was trapped by a battle, the child did not survive. We never split up again 😅
These harpies beat the sh*t out of me in my first playthrough
This song fits so perfectly. Just as many others, on my first playthrough I explored the area around the grove and came in hearing range of the harpies. I was instantly "charmed" and wanted to know who was singing. The mini quest with the harpies was a nice surprise, and it's kind of sad that defeating them stops the song 😅
This is such a beautiful song. Truly captivating.
Lullaby...
My favorite part about this section is if you save the kid, mirkon, he writes you a story about how you saved him. It’s the most adorable fucking thing
It's as if the harpies were imitating Alfira.
I really want a DnB remix of this song, I can hear it in my head but lack the skills to make it reality.
I hear this fucking song in my sleep. Make it stop
Dayum, I didn't know I needed this before I heard it. Борислав е просто баща, какво да кажа:)
i love it. . thanks
You truly do spoil us Bobby.
You've a bright future if you can compose a sountrack like this one, with or without assistance. Thank you Borislav, the music you've made will be in my heart for the remainder of my days! Best of luck moving forward to you!! Im excited to see what you'll do 🫡
This is genious btw, the whole setup with how you can just barely pick this up as you wonder about and sure enough it lures you in. Masterfully done.
