    Hey! Thanks a lot for the vid. Quick question: can we use the thicker "suckers" to propagate the trees? Are they going to mature into a fruit tree? Do you have any experience with that? Thanks again and keep it growing!

    I have a potted orange tree, about 2-3 years old. It is starting to grow, the man branch is now about 5 feet tall, If I do not want the tree to grow too tall, how can I trim or prune it to have a height limit of the tree since it is potted?

    • @fruitvibes
      @fruitvibes Před rokem +1

      Probably your climate. In coastal areas where the seasons are less, it's possible to see blossoms in the summer, especially with lemons, and sometimes after a period of dryness and then after a rain

  • @chifylube
    @chifylube Před 3 lety

    Don't those suckers become main branches eventually? Or is there new large growth that isn't thorny?

    • @fruitvibes
      @fruitvibes Před rokem

      No, especially in the case of suckers below the graft, they would produce a different variety altogether.
      Even if they are from above the graft, they rarely turn into main branches. They are long, skinny and weak, likely to break at some point as well

    • @fruitvibes

      Lemons are full of thorns, but in a navel tree, you would typically only see thorns on suckers from below the graft
