I have a Meldey Plum Tree that is fruiting heavily this year. They started ripening last week. I haven't been able to keep up with them. I gave my neighbors permission to come over and pick some also. A lot of them have fallen on the ground due to over ripening. The tree was planted in(2017)

Slugs have been chowing down on my wine caps rapidly before they are even grown out, really bums me out I’ve tried copper tape, oyster shells, and now considering a beer trap and diatomaceous earth. I was worried the latter might dry the bed out or affect the mushroom flavor or quality but it sounds like it’s not a huge concern. Thank you for this I need all the advice I can get!
