I Love Artichokes, Your Rice, Greens And Salmon Looked Great!
❤
I love artichokes so much. Look how beautiful they are
Yum! I like to add a half a lemon to the pot. It adds a delicious fresh flavor to the chokes.
Yummy, I will have to try my hand at growing artichokes. Very informative thank you.
Beautiful ❤.
Honestly, I've always been watching all your videos and whenever I watch, it's giving me a calm and relaxing vibes and a positive energy. Also, your videos help me relieve my stress. Always take care and so is your family. Thank you for always giving us these wonderful videos ❤
Spinach artichoke dip yummmm!!!
Nice to neet Alice! Hi Alice! 👋
Lovely 'chokes! I like seeing y'all cook together - thanks for sharing!
Amazing couple making the earth even more beautiful!! Thank you!!! 💯💯💯
I just harvested my first one from a plant that overwintered here in Texas. I planted many this year and hope to get a harvest first year. My OG plant is 3 feet tall and I didn’t know they get even bigger, or that they reproduce with side pups! Great info now I know how to cook mine, y’all’s garden is really amazing!
I❤artichoke!!!! This is amazing
You make very cool videos. Thank you.
Hi there.
I grow Artichokes in Scotland 🏴 too. 👍
Your right, the Bees absolutely love the Flowering ones.
Tip :
If you leave at least x2 Inches of Stem on the 'harvested' Choke, you have a Handle to hold on to when peeling off those Edible Petals. This is what they do in France ! 🇫🇷
If they do good Cuisine, then they know how to prep them ! So leave that Stalk a little longer than what Alice did in this Video. Also cut across the Heart (side to side) just under the 'choke' thistle fibres. That way you will have a lovely smooth fibre free 'Heart Disc' on its stalk. Rub that into some Butter and Seasoning and eat it like Candy on a stick. 😏
Wish we had Eat-Vision, as you showed us your Cooked Artichokes.
You Guys forgot the melted Butter with Salt and Pepper. That's the best part, after peeling off and nibbling those Petal Ends. The 'Heart' awaits you. Yum ! 😎
My favorite artichoke with garlic butter 💚
Hooray! 🎉
... and FREE! 😄
Thank you for sharing how to cook artichokes. Your garden is beautiful.
Hey y'all! They are some nice looking artichokes. Enjoy, I love artichokes. Thanks for sharing!
Nice video and I love seeing Alice again!
Thank you for sharing🙏🏼 Alice is awesome💞🍀
So nice to see Alice! Love to you both, and thank you for keeping us focused on the right & best, most true things. Lifting us up. Prayers for you all & for your land!
Thanks your dinner looked really good . I've never grown these where I'm at.
Thank you two I know nothing about artichoke gardening or preparing . I’m from Missouri Ozarks I don’t of many folks planting them here . I had dip once made from artichoke it was delicious
I would cut them lower and take several inches of the stem because that is tasty too and has a lot MORE GOODNESS than the tiny amount on the leaves.
Stem is as yummy as the heart ♥
@@priz1997 Yes! Little do Alice and Dan seem to be aware of that. I hope they read our comments!
@@pistachio57 After that I would throw the rind in to the water if you are steaming/boiling them. I think you might get more lemon flavor if you additionally squeeze fresh lemon juice on them after they are cooked.
I also throw in a sprig of rosemary and the whole kitchen smells like heaven...
@@priz1997 Yes! Gotta love those herbs! I love Rosemary and Thyme.
Those look so yummy! Such perfect artichokes👍😊
Love your tips and sharing ideas. I have artichokes in my little garden but just grow them for the flowers-- magical delightful colour. Visual feast!! I have just subscribed to your channel, thanking you.
What a wonderful life ya'll have created, w/God at the helm, of course :)...thank you for sharing it...
One of my very favorite dips is a hot cream cheese/parm cheese with spinach & artichokes. I make it a few times a year. So yummy. Comfort food. :-) Hope you and Alice are well.
My artichoke plant fell over with the wind and rain, it was top heavy. It is not doing well right now, I had to harvest all the little chokes. It will come back, I have it staked now. So sad, but it will be okay. I will grow more in the future, I can get pups from this one once it recovers. They are amazing!
Yum!
You're not going to use that pan. 😂
Lovely 🌹 garden.
Been trying to get to this point for years now. If i can just get a few to survive and thrive after being transplanted. I am excited to say that I have some tree collards/kale established. Really looking forward to eating those some day.
Thanks for sharing Alice with us. I can tell she is beautiful inside and out.
I going to look in growing artichokes. Don't know if I can in my area.
Looks awesome, mmmm
❤
I think most people, including kids, dont like to eat their veggies because the cook doesn't season them well enough. Ive gotten lots of people who claimed they didn't like a particular vegetable until they tried them fixed my way.. I grew up on my grannies farm, she had me loving to eat kale and dandelion greens way back even in grade school.
Looking so delicious. I have seeds to start. So im gonna do it this week
Dan brother when we were children my dad cooked artichokes the same exact way. He would make a bowld of red wine vinaigrette to dip the leaves in and it was oh so good😋. We have some little plants going now. Hopefully we will get a couple by next year😁👍 !!!
What variety did u grow
No wonder I was so confused when I tried to cook them. I didn't know you could eat the petals!!! Can you have your wife do a video on sticky rice? Her rice looks like my favorite kind. Thanks!
That meal looked divine! Bout to harvest my chokes too but wasn’t sure when, so thanks!
Just subscribed. Ty
Where are you? I miss you guys. God bless you Maranatha
"It will make you choke!"😅
That really looked good 😊 I'm from the south and have tried a lot of things but never artichokes. I didn't even know how to cook them till today thanks for showing me. What do they taste like in comparison to other foods? Thanks and have a blessed day.
I heard artichoke leaves are also good to cook and eat.
Me I would take the artichokes and put them in my steam Basket in my instapot steam them and peel every one of the leaves back and give them in mayonnaise and eat them just like that and I'm not even a fan of mayonnaise. That is the only way to eat artichoke
I'm going to have to take some of my saffron and send it to you guys I can't see you eating plain white rice bro I grow saffron here at the house I've got about 60 saffron crocuses that I harvest from every year I've probably only got about a half a million dollars worth of saffron stored LOL all stuff that I done myself it's taken me three years to get this stockpile I've been buying it when I can find it for cheap I bought $1,000 worth of saffron the other day for $7. Only because I'm awake and I told people the truth and when they see what's going on and then they watch some of my videos on one of my other platforms they're handing me stuff left and right like here take this you're going to need it
Ps.
Was that beautiful Scottish 🏴 Salmon on your Supper plate !?
I'll let myself out. . . 🤭
Silly me! I thought these were Jerusalem Artichokes! Now I'm curious! Can I grow them in Texas? Wonder if I can propagate them from cuttings or root divisions too . . . ?
I grow both in California, artichokes love our weather, I am by the coast. I would think if it is too hot in summer to put them in a shady spot. Jerusalem artichokes have taken over parts of my garden, I love those too! Artichokes can be propagated, mine started from seed though. See if your local nursery has some starts. That would be the fast way to get them going.
Can you please explain what to do with the plant after all artichokes have been harvested?
How long have they been growing?
Hope you guys are alright. Been longtime since a new video
What is your growing zone. I was hoping that they would grow in zone 7 ????
I have 1 in ground and 1 in large 20 gal or bigger? Pot. I'm zone 8b pacific northwest and they come back every year
I’m new here. Curious where you are located?
Please send me a picture of rosemary plant
Those are not free artichokes. Water, seeds/seedlings, the land you are paying or paid for and most valuable is time and energy.
And your point is what??? The enjoyment of raising your own and knowing what your actually eating is so important
@@jeanniek1498 still doesn’t deem it free. That’s the point! Where in my comment did I say raising your own and eating it wasn’t important? Comprehension is imperative, try it sometimes.
Wow. Beautiful. Where are you located? I am in NC and it gets very hot here. You guys have jackets on but got a yield like this?
