I’d like to see an extra year in 10th before we go to 11th. Guard got a month in their 9th edition codex before 10th dropped an made it useless.
@@mattkeepingazoriustactical yeah it was fucking annoying I waited like 5.5 years and then bam it's gone within 4 months
At least a half year to a year more then current 3 years cycle, we have to acknowledge the impatient crowd that always wants next edition sooner so this amount feels right to cater to both sides.
Could have been worse: could have been World Eaters. :/
Agree though: 10th should be minimum five years at least, and 11th a continuation of the rules and not another reset.
The change to 11th will likely be significantly smaller than 9th -> 10th, I'd expect the codexes to be still current into 11th rather than all being suddenly out of date as they were last time
@@The_Blackshield Long editions didn't pan well for GW historically, especially in a modern age, so 5 years feels to much. 3,5 or maximum 4 years is a limit for the 40k crowd before they want major change.
I'd like to see dark Eldar to get all their finecast and old models refreshed so they can be the antagonists
A range refresh would be nice but it would be very difficult to make them the big bad of an entire edition. They aren't really a major power in the galaxy, they're more of an annoyance. They really only still exist because the risk-reward ratio for destroying them is too low for anyone to bother. It would be like trying to make the Tau a major antagonist faction.
@@DeusExMachina10001
Oh I totally get them not being the biggest or the best faction for longevity as an opponent, it's just more I think they should have a range refresh as they are missing so much and they are in the lore around the golden throne needing to be replaced. They would be interested to see with the mechanicus as the starter box as a way to apologise to the admech about being in the gutter for so long too.
I know what you're saying with making them an antagonist faction but I'm purely looking at it as fixing real world issues.
i feel like fundamentally they can't be a main antagonist because of their lore. but itd be cool
@@DeusExMachina10001 What? DE aren't comparable to Tau. Commorragh itself is insanely gigantic not even mentioning countless sub-realms around it, the population there is huge and doesn't consist of just eldar. Even that marine invasion there happened in a small district with everything prepared for their arrival, Vect used them to take out his rivals, that force was allowed to retreat before a large population even took notice, fleeing while leaving behind their comrade marines to be tortured. When Dark Eldar capture even Custodes for entertainment purposes, the power of their raids can be of any scale GW needs in order to take the mantle of big antagonists. Especially since Vect ascended to "Dark Muse" there are a lot of justifications to increase their activities on wide galaxy.
@@ruslanhoncharenko2179yeah agreed, I think the Drukhari are really under utilized and a lot of people don’t know the crazy scale of Commorragh. Kabals can have millions of members and it’s not unusual for them to be running 100+ world scale raids at the same time. The only issue is giving the Drukhari reason to attack other than gather slaves but someone creative could create some lore for that. I think a pretty sick story would be some Drukhari stealing some important artifact and the imperium having to launch a large campaign into some minor corner of Commorragh to get it back, it’s just such a cool and atmospheric location that we rarely get to see. Fields of posed skeletons, toxic green rivers, labyrinthine ruins and statues, twisted huge dark cities all basked in the dim light of captured dying stars. Who knows what else lies in that place
They should add gw lawyers as a faction that would be terrifying
I think I just found a way to convert my Adeptus Arbites.
Army Rule: Cease and Desist. Send your opponent a Cease and Desist letter if the opponent has slightly deviated from the official paint scheme(They are now making their own thing using warhammer). Upon receiving the letter Opponent must melt their army and buy a new one
Buying an inquisition kill team box to make this real
I'd love to see an Emperor's Children vs Dark Eldar box. No good guys, just a bunch of freaks.
whoever can do the most horrific depraved shit wins this planet of unfucked minors 😂
id buy that
@@dylanforbes-wilkinson4819 same.
Now, I can get behind that. Definitely no more loyalist marines. If we get a 11th imperium faction it should be guardsmen (and new regiment, perhaps valhalla/tallarn? assuming we get catachan killteam before that) or sisters.
Dark Eldar or Emperor Children on the other side, 100%. I personally wouldnt give Dark Mechanicum its own codex. I think it'd be better to mix them with the Chaos Legions. More is not always better. We need less space marine and friends codex, not more (with Emperor Children being the exception, its 1 of the 4 chaos gods dedicated legions). Deathwatch should move to Imperial Agents too, and perhaps Black Templars to regular marines too, even if its my favorite chapter.
"No good guys, just a bunch of freaks."
That's basically 40k by default... :D
Much as I'd love to have my ladz get to be part of a launch set, Drukhari are in dire need of a range refresh (several kits so ancient that *GW doesn't even make them anymore*).
Kits so ancient they can vote
@@tomekk.1889 kits so ancient they can legally drink in the states
Dark Eldar were introduced officially in 3rd so them being redone in a launch box would be a nod to GWs past
IMO make it Ynari.
That way dark eldar and Craftworld can both get refreshes.
Woke GW is not going to update them. I predict that the support for DE and the model range will be dropped slowly and they will be squated.
That does seem reasonable, especially after Leviathan was a wink to Space Hulk!
I'm sure with Vashtorr's incursions into the Webway it could also force Drukhari more out into the world in force, though I'm not entirely sure about galactic threat in the same way.
@astral_ragtime5365 I also recall the DE trying to get access to the Golden Throne so a story arc revolving around a surprise DE incursion to Sol led by Asdrubael Vect on a big sexy new sail barge would be awesome.
Emperor's Children will be holiday this year, maybe next year and Dark Mechanicum will be the launch antagonist for 11th.
Bring it back to general Chaos Marines so that the World Eaters, Thousand Sons, and upcoming Emperor's Children can actually get a full range instead of eating scraps while another army that already has a massive range gets even bigger. Deathguard got to be the stars of 8th edition. Let the rest of them shine now!
deldar sitting here like.....
But they are not villains. They did nothing wrong.
Thousand sons is pretty much two main marine units and 1000 tzaangor variants. Our dusty boys need a chance to shine!!!
imo wouldnt mind vashtorr/ iron warriors/ dark mechanicum
Grey knights/Inquisition vs Emperors Children would be great
Huron blackhart comes back and dominates everyone
Yes, daddy huron
No, Huron's still dealing with a heavy fine for not paying his tv licence
Huron/Red Corsairs would very likely get me to pick up an extra army
No way; GW never makes Chaos so strong as to be the dominate faction. CSM got lucky with their index in 10th but even then they were eclipsed by a few other factions and now been nerfed into oblivion.
I'd be down
I would love to see the dark mechanicum have a larger presence in the setting. Having them have a fieldable army possibly lead by vashtorr could be interesting.
Don't limit it to just Dark Mech...
Just bring back The Lost and the Damned as the entire 'mortal army' conglomeration of Chaos, with cultists, Chaos preachers, traitor guard, beastmen, negavolt cultists, Dark Mech toys, traitor guard support vehicles (ie: Chimera, Sentinels, Hellhounds, basic Russ + Demolisher), etc... sprinkle in some new Daemon engine toys with that lovely Vashtorr flair...
Add in Vashtorr, Be'lakor, etc... as special characters (if the rumors are true that Daemons are being removed as a codex)
I really liked the idea I saw by someone that they should release the dark mechanicum and then condense each mechanicus and their corresponding knight legions into 1 faction. Flavor win as well as giving knights the ability to field smaller units without splash and mechanicus a little wiggle room from being so expensive to field
@@drewfriend3368you mean titan legions? I could probably see it
It might be a good way to introduce more range for a Chaos faction like World Eaters or Thousand Sons. Thousand Sons would be nice because I play them and am selfish lmao
Maybe alongside some Screaming Ravens ay?
@@slammgames7425 if the 11th edition space Marines are the screaming Ravens then I feel like that means I win Warhammer. New goal acquired
@@PaulIsBadAtStuffHell yeah another Thousand Sons player. I'm with you. Give us a terminator/marine variant and maybe an official sorc and sorc in terminator armour models and I'll be happy
fr, we’re missing a ton of stuff for csm
I totally agree. I think World Eaters, Thousand Sons, or even Emperor's Children would be a great choice. I'm less familiar with Thousand Sons, but I collect World Eaters and it really doesn't feel like a full army yet
I think Dark Eldar are a bit more likely because they feel like they are in a similar place to the Tyranids and Necrons before their releases, they haven't had any significant model released in recent times and their core range is from 2011 with a lot of finecast stuff. Also the fact they are definitively bad guys is a strong point in their favour. I don't think existing popularity plays much of a part in the decision, because being an edition antagonist is a way for them to build a player base and force a faction to become popular, Death guard would be way more niche if they hadn't been in 8th edition.
Way I'd do it if i was GW
For our 10e codex give us Grotesques.
For 11e launch have an Archon + Court. Some Kabalites, a beast pack and a raider.
Sell Vect as a stand alone character but also a New Ynari HQ who leans more Drukhari.
That way the half box has some appeal to Alderi players.
Yeah, but people actually play Nids and Necrons. Dark Eldar are just cringy BDSM weirdo fucks, nobody wants to play them. Lets just say that I wouldn't let my kids around anyone who collects them.
@@eps200 plastic tantalus with vect + court would be awesome
i’m a huge tau fan and would love them to be a release faction for eleventh, but I doubt they would do that due to the fact that they are a shooting army and would be horrible to teach a new player how to play considering they just skip a whole phase
Could it possibly work if they threw in some kroots?
@@sonarchy5158 I was thinking that they wouldn’t include miniatures that was already released in tenth (rampagers), but it’s possible they do a second wave of releases in eleventh, problem is, it would be a half kroot half tau box because it would be weird if it had only one unit, which would be kind of annoying (I just want tau)
You could throw in a new auxiliary species, perhaps humans or those octopus looking fellas, to have the T’au be capable of melee.
@@HippoEnjoyer that would actually be awesome
@@sonarchy5158 or finally teach XV8's to bring melee weapons and how to use them.
Druhkari steal one of the missing artifacts of Vulkan, Salamanders go berserk and this sets the stage for Vulkans return.
I can wish right?
I would like dorn to return or at least have some confirmation that he is dead and isnt coming back
I’m not a CSM player but I would love some of the traitor legions (especially the alpha legion) get some time in the spotlight.
All is dust 🙂
Man, I can at least dream that the Imperium side will be Astra Militarum. Imagine a Tempestus Scions themed box with a Taurox Prime, Tempestus character unit of some sort in command, and two Scions units. Maybe some kind of scout vehicle themed with them introduced as part of the new edition. Maybe sending them against the Eldar or Drukhari would be neat, and even give us some new sculpts for those units. I don't play Eldar or Dark Eldar, but I'd still love to see them get some love.
Additionally, some new "Vs" boxes would be neat, with a 'good-ish' side and a 'definitely evil' side. T'au vs Nids; Aeldari vs Drukhari, Astra Militarum vs Genestealer Cults, Marines vs Orks, etc. I know a lot of people would find a friend who wants stuff for the other army and split it, or get them as starter kits for getting friends into the hobby while getting some minis of their own.
It should be the Dark Eldar.
i would love that to as im waiting to start collecting them but honestly idk how thatll happen with GW handling of lore
If i was GW I'd make it Ynari to hedge my bets.
Court of the Archon, Beast master, warp spiders ect
True. Would love to see them versus Votann on the launch box next year.
If they wanted to make a huge wave, they would wait to release emperor's children until the start of 11th. Think about how well that box would sell if it had Fulgrim and a brand new emperor's children line in it..
I’m betting on a EC battle force with Fulgrim similar to the recent WE one with Angron (and other primarchs before)
One of the reasons Orks are high in the poll is that one Valrak's reliable source says so.
For once I really hope his sources are wrong...
Orks are fine! Just give us new Tankbustas as a Kill Team kit with cool & hilariously Orky upgrades, and then drop some character resculpts for Wyrdboyz, Boss Zagstrukk, etc....
Getting a range refresh will mean new "modern kits" for our Boyz, Lootas/Burnas, Nobz, etc..., and we'll not only lose options, but more importantly, we'll lose the easy kit bashing as all those old kits were designed to be interchangable. 😞
As its usually "antagonist vs Imperium", I suggest the big Bad Guy for 11th edition should be GW itself: they seem to hate Space Marines the most right now.
Make me the antagonist I hate space marines more
Can you fit into a small cardboard box, and are you prepared to be either badly painted or added to a pile of shame for decades? :P
That's normal for space Marines to be down in the dumps in the middle of the edition. When iron hands start to dominate the meta, that is when you know a new edition is around the corner
they hate space marine so much they put more focus on them and nerf custodes
I think we should make 11th edition a Webway-focused narrative, with the Eldar/Drukhari getting new models to replace their older ones, and give Jaghatai Khan his own model. The Eldar need model updates, and I think we can afford to throw White Scars a bone, here.
I would like a launch with a two non-imperium or two factions which aren’t loyalist space marines.
Like Eldar vs EC
Chaos vs Chaos
Or something like Guard vs Chaos.
I hope for alpha legion and that we get the real alpharius/omegon back
They have always been here.
This is a lie, we actually got them in 9th edition with the primaris. This is a lie.
@@danielhan4537 I actually plan on making an alpha legion army with a mix of 3d printed and loyalist minis after iam done with my salamanders and krieg
Alpha legion, Tzeentch's favourite army
@@tomekk.1889 tzeentch has 3 legions under him and thousands sons are his least favourite
Orks are probably the only faction that can stall the 4th tyranid war in a satisfying way.
Basically, turning Segmentum Pacificus into Octarius 2.0
Just make 11th Ed. the Slaanesh edition. It can start with an emperor's children or drukhari refresh, their pariah nexus/war zones could be fleshing out slaanesh daemons, eldar/ynarri etc, and their arks of omen equivalent could be whatever army they didn't do for their release box, either emperor's children or deldar refresh.
It had best be something like eldar or orks get the spotlight, since their minis need many new updates.
rumors is we get a SW vs Orks later this edition with model refreshes for both those armies, but if it holds up i can not say, but cool if true.
Personally I'd like DE again. It's never a morally ambitious enemy like Eldar or Tau or Votan, it's a clear cut baddie with skulls and spikes. DE would be a cool throwback to 3rd.
Drukhari started getting slow drip in updates in recent editions, in 8th there was new Incubi+Drazhar, 9th gave us Lelith and so far in 10th new plastic Mandrakes have come up. So it's 50/50 how big wave of updates will happen, could be either as launch edition faction or regular release waves during edition. Anyway, it feels like they are almost guaranteed to get a sizable release of new models somewhere during 10th-12th.
I think the Drukhari are really under utilized and a lot of people don’t know the crazy scale of Commorragh. Kabals can have millions of members and it’s not unusual for them each to be running 100+ world level raids at the same time. The only issue is giving the Drukhari reason to attack other than gather slaves but someone creative could create some cool lore for that. I think a pretty sick story would be some Drukhari stealing some important artifact and the imperium having to launch a large campaign into some minor corner of Commorragh to get it back, it’s just such a cool and atmospheric location that we rarely get to see. Fields miles wide of posed skeletons, toxic green rivers, labyrinthine ruins and statues, twisted huge dark cities all basked in the dim light of captured dying stars. Who knows what other horrors lies in the corners of that brooding monster that can hardly be called a city
They could do Ynari. That way it can refresh both sets of Eldar.
@@eps200 yea they could add Ynnari specific units like exodites dragon rider or that autarch that turns to Avatar of Khaine + 1/2 units for Drukhari and Craftworlders
DE don't need to steal anything to get the Imperium's attention - they have the Khan fighting somewhere in the Webway already.
the videogame rogue trader has Drukhari as very important villains in the plot, they work great
Drukhari vs White scars.
Would ve good. White scars trying to rescue the Khan from a Homunculus covern. The Drukhari trying to use him for some twisted experiment. Lets the range refresh for Drukhari, Khan and Vect as characters.
Agents/Deathwatch/inquisition vs Ynari works too in a flipped way.
The inperium being the more chaotic side. It being Ynari allows refreshing stuff from Alderi and Drukhari. If the agents and Deathwatch do get merged into an Inquisition codex they will need models.
Give Ynari a new Prince Yriel as a HQ. He has the 4th Crone sword and needs a new model.
A united Dark Eldar big ass narrative would be interesting. Then near the end of the 11th narrative have Slannesh show up in a big way.
I am pretty sure that it will be the Emperor’s Children
They will be end of 10th
@@scolack123 so what? How it can prevent them to appear in starter?
I feel like an inverse of the typical box is possible Eldar vs emperors children or some other chaos space marines
Two slaneesh factions fighting would be awesome.
How about Traitor Guard?
They’re chaos, they’re a horde army, they already have a few units, and the Blood Pact are already a known chaos faction.
This would never happen, but imagine the edition starts with two different launch boxes, to allow another imperium army (because GW aren’t THAT adventurous) to share in the spotlight, even if they only fight the same antagonist as space marines. Or even better, another antagonist who’s doing something elsewhere in the galaxy.
GW seem to have abandoned VS boxes now, so we don’t really get boxes like this now.
Aeldari - both craftworld and drukhari. Massive range refresh that comes in waves through the edition.
No Imperium. I think World Eaters versus Eldar. Eldar could use a range refresh and WE could use an expanded range.
If I had to guess? Orks. Ghazz ran away from Armageddon and Guilliman convinced Helbrecht to no longer pursue the war boss. At some point a new waagh led by Ghaz is gonna happen
Fuck it, Dark vengenace 2.0. Somehow kranon returned and the crimson slaughter laugh in the face of the 13th crusade
Dark Mechanicum could be a good call. Vash has his lore moving nicely, so a big wave of support based around him for a launch box would be interesting.
I wish we could get a whole 5 year cycle again, 3 really doesnt seem like much, plus im a guard player thats still not over our treatment in 9th
I’m hoping it’s Orks because if it is then there’s a chance that they’ll do a War of the Beast Part 2 Electric Boogaloo and that’s when they’ll bring Vulkan back
Honestly I think it would be best for Aeldari or Drukhari to be the big bad. They both need big range refreshes. That said, thousand sons or a different chaos legion would be cool
Orks vs Space Wolves. Ghaz subplot going on in the back probably won't be brought back up until next edition since we're switching focus on this pariah nexus fight between admech, chaos and necrons. Ragnar Blackmane canonically cut his head of his body. Probably some new war for armageddon.
Excellent scene between Ghaz and Ragnar in Prophet of the Waaagh, there's places his storyline can go
I want to say aeldar, simply because it’s been like 20 years since they’ve gotten new models and they need the attention.
Aeldari vs slaanesh demons would be pretty dang cool. Literally anything other than space marines against edgy space marines will be appreciated.
I know it would never happen, but I would really like to see a launch box without marines because they're so oversturated at this point, and there are definitely armies who could do with an update, i.e. votann, aeldari, thousands sons/general chaos marines
A Votann vs Dark Mechanicum box would be great, on one side GW releases the new faction and on the other the so expected reinforcements for votann finally arrive
If they release a decently sized Dark Mechanichum range, im going bankrupt.
I really hope for Drukhari. The pointy elves really need an update and I really like them to play.
In terms of models aldari or dark aldar. Realisticly with the surge kf nids genesteeler cults
I’d like Chaos Space Marines vs Aeldari. I’ve always wanted to start a CSM army, and want an excuse to revisit my 2nd edition Eldar. I think Space Marines vs Orks is most likely. It even lines up with some lore of Orks coming for a fight after a big invasion. Thanks for video
Seeing how they did the recent "big bad guys", I'd say the next one should be the Space Marines. :D
I would like to see something like Eldar vs Genestealer Cults or leagues of votann.
Space marines dont need a launch box and new minis.
Oh and also release ALL codexes at once and then go from there.
I feel like as long as we dont get Terminator Assault Squads you could just use Deathwing Knights for the same thing
Drukhari or chaos space marines hopeful for any new stuff
I heard a rumour that 11th was going to be Orks Vs Guard.
Can't wait for 11th. 10 has been abysmal. Don't even bother with the rest of the codices - save them for an edition with some flavour
Also the two factions to launch should be Drukhari and Votann. They both need it most.
But if you _must_ put Space Marines in there somewhere, then make them the antagonist and make T'au be the faction that you get the perspective from.
Sadly I think 11th will just be a continuation of 10th as this seems to be the way GW want to go.
I also agree that 10th is 💩 I've gone back to playing 9th as I actually enjoyed playing through 9th.
Probably the key is large appeal so the more niche factions seem less likely (though of course you can argue that some factions may not be popular because they don't get enough range refreshes etc. so vicious cycle), so considering that I would have to say Orks or CSM would be the most likely imo, both popular factions, both 'classic' antagonists vs marines.
Emperors children vs craftworld eldar as the starter box would go hard
They've basically already told us imo. Dawn of Fire Wolftime indicated a major Ork threat is building under Ghazghkull Thraka so it seems likely that towards the end of 10th we'll have the Emperor's Children release with Fulgrim, a Space Wolves refresh with Russ and then 11th will be an assault themed Space Marine army (including assault terminators) vs Orks. It's pretty much inline with the way they did World Eaters and the lore breadcrumbs they did for Necrons & Tyranids.
It's probably either gonna be Drukhari or CSM/CSM variants.
When I was growing up almost all the guys in the local private school used to collect dark Eldar.
A bunch of freaky torturers and sadists, playing DE? Strange.
My fantasy launch box set would be guard Vs orks. Narrative event being Ghaz's Waaagh is big enough that he is ready to set it loose and try to summon gork and mork, and takes his Waaagh straight to Armageddon. Miniature wise would be a good opportunity to bring back the steel legion for one of the discontinued guard regiments
Idea for Tau: a new sphere expansion begins and the Tau unknowingly push towards Terra. This catches the attention of the Imperium and a great war starts.
Every tech-oriented chaos thing. Vashtorr is a good setup, now i'd love a follow-up with iron warriors, dark mechanicum, daemon engines on the soul grinder side, all of that
Lucius is gonna show up and make Slaneeshmas a thing fr fr
If I could had my wish come true, I'd gladly ask for drukhari as the Antagonist faction with a huge lore move where Commoragh's reality begins to crack because of demons and Asdrubael Vect declares he'll conquer a new aeldari empire and unleashes the masses of the Dark Realms in the material world
I hope Eldar
Deathwatch going renegade not falling to chaos but going renegade due to the horrors of fighting and dying to the Xenos threat. Maybe then we would not be forgotten about lol.
GW should make 2 intro boxes so imperial factions that aren't space marines can get some love. Sisters, guard, custodes, and admech fans would all love it. That being said, 1ksons could use the new edition box for a range refresh with a psychic dread as a centerpiece. Paint the space marines space wolf colour and you've got an intro box.
Even as an Emperor's Children player, I think it should be T'au. Let them release early on so they get codex crept.
With the lore being an entire edition behind (were going to be in 11th by the time the 4th tyranic lore will be the focus lore wise) they could do one with 2 xenos forces that need love but forgo massive lore focus for it
Something like tau vs drukari or eldar vs daemons
Wdym we're 1 edition behind?
Dark Eldar would be needed I think, but I can't deny it'd be cool to see Emperor's Children in a dual release with a special Legion of the Damned army for Imperial Agents or something.
Tyranids didn't really feel like the main antagonist of 10th edition. They have been one of the worst armies for much of the edition. Their codex was nerfed before it was even released. Feel like Aeldari was the main antagonist for 10th. They were strong and dangerous for so long.
The idea of a box set of CSM marking the return of a chaos primarch with the chaos marines being themed around that particular legion (like the DA got in Dark Vengeance) would be awesome. A Word Bearers vs. Raven Guard box marking the return of both Lorgar and Corvus would be an awesome, thematic product. But I'm not sure that's a viable starter box.
I say it should be either the emperor's children or iron warriors
They need to makw noise marines a squad. As well as having noise marines terminators
Rumour is the next edition launch box will be Space Wolves vs. Orks, but given that Leviathan was rumoured to be either Dark or Blood Angel's against the 'Nids, they'll probably swap out the Wolves for Ultramarines again
I would expect Aeldari given they are in need of a big refresh and Tau have just had a big update
Consider this, orcs vs khorne chaos, ghazgull vs angron 5ype stuff ya know
getting his getback on angron for krumping his favorite umie
I feel like GW should move towards having a MAIN conflict, in which they can introduce things like they do now, a big central story line with Space Marines VS *Someone*. But in that same edition they should have like a minor campaign box, for some of the factions that are more peripheral. So while the big conflict is happening between the Space Marines and say the Orkz, in the meantime we can get a smaller release (cheaper and easier for GW to produce) that would be say between Tau VS Drukharii, or whatever other two factions. This way you can have two 'major' plotlines, one for the majority of the hobby (space marines/imperium) and then a more minor plotline between two other factions.
This would allow GW to make model releases for factions that they see as more risky, like drukharii and gene stealers, as they are more niche. But it would still help make those players feel included as they would have their own story lines and lore fleshed out, without having to necessarily wait decades at a time. Then if a minor release does super well for say eldarii, then GW can plan a more Major style release for them in the future since their 'test' went well. This would also allow for more fleshed out and larger storylines, the galaxy would feel bigger and more active, setting up possible future problems for the space marines/imperium to deal with. These boxes would probably be more combat patrol size or something, but would still come with lore, as opposed to new model releases for minor factions which are just "here's your new model, now go away".
The weird thing about the "Big bad" thing is that 9th and 10th both may have started with the big bad especially cause of the launch but through the rest of the edition the big bad from the PREVIOUS one did more stuff.
In 9th the Necrons weren't really the actual thing to be fighting yet as much as Chaos was still there messing things up. In 10th, it may have starte with the 4th Tyrannic War but by now the lore's FINALLY discussing that whole Necron business, which would mean that in the latter parts of 11th we're finally going over the 4th Tyrannic war?
Obviously the Drukhari. Dudes entire line up needs a complete reboot.
Would be a good time for it.
Grey Knights versus Eldar would be not bad of a combo
i know a lot of other factions need releases but a vashtorr army of iron warriors or dark mech mix are something i’m really praying for tbh
If I could vote, I would put my vote on 1) Orks. 2) Dark Eldar. 3) Chaos.
Orks are one of the biggest bads in the setting but havn't been the main antagonist for a edition in ages.
Dark eldar aren't the biggest bad, but of the bad guys factions they need the range overhaul the most right now.
Chaos is the main bad guy in warhammer. And its been a surprising amount of editions since they were the poster boy baddie.
(And I absolutely would love some dark mechanicus thrown in there)
Tau shooting line with updated breachers and such, against melee terminators and vanguard veterans would be really cool tbh.
I would love to see an edition with several big bads, with multiple starter sets with different Imperium factions pitted against one of them.
Two back-to-back years of Xenos factions means Chaos is practically a shoe-in. We've seen CSM and Death Guard headline editions before, and World Eaters just recently got their new range, so seems to me like the logical options would be Thousand Sons (who desperately need a range refresh anyway) or Emperor's Children, if they don't get their new codex during 10th.
Personally I'd love to see Thousand Sons make the spot, since they've been fairly well shafted both in terms of miniatures and models since their big range refresh with Wrath of Magnus eight years ago. They ravaged the Fenris system, popped the Planet of Sorcerers back into realspace, started rebuilding Prospero, and... nothing. The last time Magnus himself made a real appearance was when he tried to attack Guilliman on Terra and got kicked back through his own portal. He needs to get his get back somehow.
It would be cool if next edition was about the eldar. Make dark eldar the big bad and give them a brand new range refresh with new extra models, while throughout the edition craftwork’s eldar refresh models could come out for their oldest kits, and if James Workshop really wants to make elf people happy, near the end of the season they could finally release an exodite army. Do it GW, a literal fan made exodite model won golden demon this year!
Vashtorr, Dark Mech, Iron Warriors, Chaos Votann 🤘
chaos votann gotta have hashut
@@cyrusmann5443 that would be awesome 😃!
The Assault on Blackreach Warboss is still superior to a lot of modern models. Love that box.
I would LOVE for them to break the mold of Space Marines in the starter set and do Aeldari v Emps Kids. Very thematic and both need the glow up
The Doom Slayer discovers Cicatrix Maledictum. In a shocking release you play as the Chaos Space Marines who are protagonists. 😂
What they should do is pick an antagonist faction, and really zero in on those sprues, and then sell then sell them with SM OR Sisters OR Mechanicus. That would give two well liked factions that are a tad expensive to collect a boost, and give folks who either don't want to collect SM, or already have a big SM collection an alternative....OR they should do what they did with Old World. Instead of Mixed boxes, sell two or three boxes that give you a lovely start on the army you really like.
I’d like it to be the Drukari. I know they’re like really low in numbers and so bringing out a massive threat to the wider galaxy might be difficult but man do they need more of a spotlight both lore wise and model wise.
Dorn coming back and the box being fists/templars vs eldar/ynarri because they think everyone got too compliant with them would be sick
Just basing it off which army "needs" a refresh then I'd say Drukari. Remember GW's goal is to always make cool models first and then have the lore fit it second. So if Drukari have not had the best lore for a while, then all they need to do is course correct on them and people would be interested in the army again.
An ideal launch box would be no Space Marines and just Aeldari v. Drukhari. But that's not going to happen for the exact reasons outlined in the video.
With all the Vastor lore drops I'd say a rebranded "Dark Mechanicum" is higher up there than we'd think.
I feel like the fact, that emperors children got cut this edition from the chaos space marine codex, confirms that they will debut in this edition. Otherwise they could've just stayed in the csm codex
Honestly, I'd love after we get the "end of 10th" emperors children stuff through, I'd love for Tau to be the big bad, probably not gonna happen, but I'd love a big lore update, where the Farsight Enclaves and main Tau empire go through their civil war, hash it out, it'd concluded one way or the other, and with that settled, Tau expansion suddenly gets absolutely rampant with the advent of yet more technology, we get more suits for any purpose in a box set, and I'd love for GW to make the ballsy move and have the protagonist force be Astra militarum. Or the even bigger balls move of Making the tau the protagonist faction and making it against one of their classical enemies, like the orks, tyranids, or drukhari, one of the more unreasonable factions
