    Turn off the Hot Tub Breaker before draining, and turn on after fully filled. You DO NOT want the hot tub auto run a pump while drained & empty . Great Tutorial especially appreciate a demonstration of purging the pipes by blowing with shopvac, and the pointing out the airbleeds.

    Great Video! I have the exact same hot tub! I really hate the control panel. Its really hard to use when it gets even a little wet. I bought a Wifi controller so that I can use my phone or even my Apple watch to control it!

    Hi! This was a super helpful video! I have had my hot tub for about 10 years now and have never used Spa Purge 🥴 I have only drained, cleaned the filters & tub and then refilled. I have a question regarding blowing air through the filter section. I vaguely remember instructions from when the hot tub was installed and one of the instructions that I remember was to always leave water in the...idk pipes? lines?...I think it was the area underneath where the filters go (the part you blew out.) Is it a big deal to not mess with that part? Obviously I haven't done much but the bare minimum cleaning twice a year. Anyway, I appreciate the tutorial. :)

    • @Poolelementary
      @Poolelementary  Před rokem +4

      Hello Anya, yes you can skip blowing out the lines and just purge and drain the tub. The chances of getting an air lock on your pumps is far greater if you blow these lines out so if you don't want to deal with that head ache skip it. 10 years I would say it's time to purge clean your tub! Thanks for watching!

    All hot tub-jet is circulate water but only one of the air jet no air comes out but has water come out. Please advise. By the way I just clean and refill the water. And i am new spar owner

    • @Poolelementary
      @Poolelementary  Před rokem +2

      Run the jets for awhile and you should get air eventually. If the jets turn off and on by twisting them you can work it back and forth to unplug the air intake. Thanks for watching!

    Hi, so you can add the purge and drain the same day? I thought I seen the bottle say leave it overnight which would be a huge inconvenience. Thanks for your videos!!

    • @Poolelementary
      @Poolelementary  Před rokem +3

      The longer you leave it in the tub up to 24 hours is best but you can get away with adding it in the morning and running the tub as much as you can in a 4 hour time and it does get the lines pretty clean

    Why do we need to dry the filter before it goes back in the water?

    • @Poolelementary
      @Poolelementary  Před 2 měsíci +1

      Sorry if I was misleading. You can put the filter back in wet or dry doesn't matter.

    I clean luxury cabins and I'm having trouble with a hot tub that is on a well. No matter what I have done cleaning wise it is still sandy and grimmy feeling

    Does the water temp need to be at 95 degrees before adding the Spa Purge product?

    • @Poolelementary
      @Poolelementary  Před rokem +1

      I always purge my hot tubs when there at Temps above 90 degrees because warm water cleans better than cold water when it comes to getting oils and crud out of your lines.

    • @Poolelementary
      @Poolelementary  Před rokem +1

      Different purge cleaners do call for different measures though so follow the instructions on your cleaning product.

      @@Poolelementary Sorry, I have one more question. My stand alone Jacuzzi, model J245, holds 360 gallons. Do you feel that the 1/2 bottle of Natural Chemistry Purge is enough? I've owned the tub for 5 years, have drained & cleaned every 4 months, but this is the first time I have purged the system.

    • @Poolelementary
      @Poolelementary  Před rokem +2

      Half a bottle is enough. You might want to have an anti foam product also because the scum and foam that's gonna happen since it's been 5 years might get a little crazy 🤪 . A squirt of the anti foam should keep it from flowing over the edges of the tub

    • @user-lz4fy4or2p
      @user-lz4fy4or2p Před rokem +1

      @@Poolelementary You were right about the amount of foam. The anti foam tip kept things "manageable". I've completed two 20 minute cycles and have put the cover back on and turned the breaker off to the tub. Will wait 24 hours and then drain it. Many thanks again for all of your help.
