I've just had one of these as a loan car from my insurance company... cancelled my order for the troc vw and went for the top of the range ds7... saved 6k and it's a dream to drive on a long journey... great cat

This DS defenitely looks better than an Audi. Did he show the front lights turning on themselves like pure crystals? What about all the luxury details inside the car ? Why not show them ? I'm always left with the feeling of a biased review when it's not a German car.

Amazing how you "love" some features on an audi or a vw but how you say "they're not that important" for the very same things on a brand you want to trash.
That's a really beautiful car, hands down. Seems like French cars, mainly from the PSA group shifted from being the ugly ducks, to being very avant garde in the looks department, and not just that but also comfort and technology as well.

Grunf ! Yeah man in 2018 where technology is so cheap you can buy insane tablets from china for like 200€... What is that in global sum of 30,000€ that they ask for car. If you wanna compete with the germans you gotta throw in more interesting stuff so people would choose you over premium brands, yet they still put a shitty laggy screen. I think that laggy screens are okay if youre buying a low budget entry version cars such as Dacia or something but not in 20,000+ € price range anymore cmon

It's probably bad software and nothing to do with the hardware. Software is difficult to fix, if it was down to CPU, I am sure they would have spent the extra $50.
Yep, Also the voice assistant. The only place where i ever use it is in my car. Couldn't they just have asked Google to implement theirs?

I normally like Matt’s reviews but this seems overtly negative - as negative as physically possible. I’m a Mercedes owner but think this review is a little unfair on DS and PSA.

The car seems very impressive considering how much cheeper it is compared to German rivals
And at the end most people go with German rivals because Quality isn't something you can improve with makeup (design)
Mehrdad B - Uhm quality is something you can improve with design... it’s literally one of the fundamental things of design
@Mehrdad B It tend to be less and less the case. I just switch from a 308 Féline (end of leasing) to a CLA Fascination that cost more than 10k€ more and I've already some problems like vibrations noises or the remote command of electric seats that broke into the door (the car is not even 3 monthes old). The 308 was exempt on any issues during the time I had it. So german quality my ass.

Very Stylish, especially the interior. I've seen it in brighter colours which make it look much better.
Really nice, but ac controls in a touch screen is just stupid. Real shame it's becoming a bit of a norm.

velar has nobs (scrolling wheel) for it, I own the velar and tbh I love it, but the only down point is that you can't see the temperature while you are changing the temperature, unless you turn the wheel in an unusually weird manner.

If the car was German the presenter would be gushing! Just about tired of the BMW and Audi comments. I'm an owner of a brand new Mercedes and they all have scratchy plastics so just drop it! This is a very brave car that is not afraid to bring concept car design tot he masses. This is definitely a car to shortlist and worth a test drive! Oh and by the way Matt, Alcantara is NOT fake Suede. Just learn the basics! It's your job and you should be professional at it! Sometimes you just look silly and a BMW fanboy.

PSA is already in USa since october 2017 with a car sharing/rental service ( "free2move" ) in some airports. They have a new headquarter at Atlanta.The first step to return . This DS 7 will be certainly sold in the US in 2020 may be with a car rental/sharing service or without.
They are indeed arriving in a year or two my friend. Don't waste your money on german brands of cars made in Mexico and you won't regret spending your money on a french car made in France.
I prefer a German car which is made in Nigeria or Somalia Lol .My mother had a Citroen C5 in 2012, which is made in Rennes, France, mirrors didn't automatically close.Classic French car never works properly...

Love the design! Cars rarely have a consistent design language throughout besides a Lambo and this, but all those diamond shapes are... dare I say... SHARP!

The German car manufacturers “borrowed “ PSA sensory development and technology which was being fine tuned 24 years ago , I was working at the ryton plant in England and saw first hand the technology being developed for Citroen cars especially the infrared sensors which could pick up living creatures a long way into the distance at night long before the headlights
DS and Peugeot is MORE RELIABLE THAN AUDI. Audi have so bad quality now. DS have better quality than audi and his cheap plastic. PSA is the MOST reliable cars in UK, ausi is only number 11 ! Peugeot is number 1 ! And this ds7 is unique, ds7 have no one similarity with Audi q5, the ds is better, he have most and better technology, better quality pieces, more cunfortable and for 10.000€ cheaper.
I work next to a DS dealership and I've seen a few of these. Love it both inside and out.

This doesn't compete with a Volvo or Lexus. Just look at the bad fit of the interiour parts of this car. You would never see that in a Volvo.
These PSA cars all look flashy on the first look, but they lack any refinement.

gusbandicoot Well no, I’m already on team Volvo, but it’s always good to see a car maker taking a bit of a creative risk and it is definitely more interesting than VAGs bland selection.
It's fascinating how Mat doesn't forget to praise Audi in every single one of his videos, but never criticizes them. In this video he compliments the door design on the DS for not being prone to making your pants dirty, unlike in the Audi Q5, and almost every other VAG product. He also complains about buttons in this video, and rather unsurprisingly doesn't mention how Audi buttons sound and feel like they are from a 2003 Fiat Punto. I'm not trying to hate here, just annoyed how this reviewer can not do a review without praising his preferences.

You realise Audi pretty much have the best quality out of all the cars in the same price range. And Audi buttons sound like they should, they also use knurled knobs with a very nice feedback, we have the 730d which I love but our old A6 was just as good for quality so I respect Audi for that
Audi design is one of the best in the industry which is why plenty of car journos praise them. Its not really a Matt thing.
You didn't demonstrate the front lights. The inside turns around to show like a diamond, it's really cool!

I've seen it and I must say, brilliant job to PSA Peugeot and Citroen for making such a dream come true! But... I personally don't like the design, it's a little overdone. The wheels are small, the DS 7 resembles an Audi Q3/Q5, yet I can't seem to see anyone else point that out besides Mat Watson.
They should tried making it resemble the DS from the 60s! But hey, PSA deserves credit for making a concept, a reality.
This is definitely one of the most beautiful SUV's from 2018!!

Black rims just look like your wheel trims have fell off and left the black steel behind.
Then you hate police cars too, they have black wheels. And technically all cars have black wheel, the hub caps is alloy and is clipped on. If cars lose the hub caps, you'll see black wheel behind

This review is clearly from an early version of the car .... central infotainment is updated and has no hickups anymore. The version he tested has indeed fake exhaust, but the THP version have real exhaustst. The driver screen has also received an update for faster animation. I'm verry happy with my DS7 Performance line THP180
hey, does the voice commands work on your version? They do not on mine and I have a 2020 version.

I love this car, looks amazing the interior looks and feel expensive this car is a finger in the ass of the Germans but I think it won’t sell as much as the Germans because of the “emblems” I JUST LOVE IT !
It bothers me that the Start button says "Stop" then "Start". We read left to right. It just doesn't seem right to have the _negative_ first.
If he talk deeply about options you will love this car

Yes it may not be 100% as well built as the German equivalents but just bloody look at it. Such a pretty car.
Everyone's complaining about the tyres, which aren't low profile. But remember, you no longer have the problems associated with low profile tyres.

The 5 annoying things aren’t actually annoying
1- the blanked up camera is because it builds up by reversing
2- the exhaust pipes are NOT fake, there is a real one inside it
3- you can press with 3 fingers to get on screen menu similar to the shortcuts
4- Yeah that’s annoying
5- the voice command isn’t good but not bad also it usually works for me

I'm usually a fan of the German cars and leave the french cars for people that like the way they look. This one seems different though. It looks pretty good, has all the features you could want and does it for an amazing price compared to it's premium rivals. Maybe some people will not see it as a premium car, because it's a very new brand, but I think this has every right to be a premium car. Great review and great car.

I recently got a DS 7 in the Prestige line and although I am extremely delighted with it I feel I got a bit short changed. My car didn't come with the lovely assessory featured in the boot at 4:15. Why?
You must say "im cold" the car increase temp a little more "im hot" decrease. if you say augmenter la temperature it doesn't work . Im french and owner of a DS7 224 hp PerfLine+

Shut the fuck up! This "DS" is a complete Audi Q5/Q7 rip-off in the front and in the rear of the car! When you can't recognize in how many details of this car the German car was copied, then you might have a big problem with your eyes... or your taste and "knowledge" about cars!
The German quality is the benchmark for a lot of other manufacturers, especially Audi interiors. When you can't accept this, then please feel free for FUCKING YOURSELF !!!

Every other car journalists reviewing this car. 'WOW this interior is really luxurious especially with the BRM watch (he didnt even bother to mention it in higher spec nor the rotating front lights)and matt goes like "hmm idk how to feel about this interior'
And talking about plastics, he usually starts with the soft touch ones then to the scratchy bits. But now he goes directly to the lower part of the car which no one would ever be looking at instead of the dashboard which is right in front of ur eyes.
Well I, myself don't know how to feel about this video. Dislike.

Why does he always make a noise when getting in the back or moving to the middle seat. Making it sound like it’s hard work when it’s not.
The interior design looks bit too much, it almost looks like old day version of futuristic design

Er, no, we're not used to French cars being cheap little runarounds. They're superb cars and have been ahead of the game for 40 years. Only shame with this car is it doesn't come in 7 seat version. Yet!
