Āshāda Ekādashi is a day synonymous with Pānduranga Vittalā. It is the day devotees sing the names of the Lord, while walking to the temple of Pandharpur. Madrasana came together with Vinay Varanasi and Sivasri Skandaprasad to recreate this walk to the temple of Krishna, in Bangalore!
On the morning of āshāda ekādashi, ( July 10th, 2022) Vinay and Sivasri were joined by Jaidev Haridos and Chandrashekhar , and they shared stories of Nāmdev, sung abhangs and compositions as they walked through the temples of Malleswaram. They were joined by several enthusiastic participants, who sang along and keenly listened to the stories of Nāmdev, a Marathi saint. This event was a precursor to a deeper exploration of Nāmdev's journey of bhakti.
This walk was followed by a Concert on July 22nd at Bangalore International Center. This concert is also available on youtube.
Please note this video was shot hand held and so you may find some shakes. The audio may also have some street noise during the walk.

@@vasukinagabhushan Yes ji.. but many youngesters don't understand it unless someone gives some basic background on it like in this case. As a child I grew up as an immigrant in Delhi.. I remember during Marghai masam some 10 -15 ppl will go door to door singing Bhanjans to only South Indian ppl's homes. I liked it but never got full context.. such guided tours make the tradition come alive rather than a habitual thing. After watchig this video I am grateful to my parents for making us participate in such things in our childhood. (I already was, but not even more ).. Also it is nice to see that "The tradition" alive when you see youngsters doing it.

Namaskaram 🙏 ,I m from Patna ,bihar ...such a divine ,soulful walk (yatra ) , I m really overjoyed by hearing bhagwan 's namavali and seeing people walking bare foot and chanting vishnu bhagwan's different names .. really get to know so much about naamdev g , dakshinamukha nandiswara temple ,shree gangamma temple ,sri lakshmi narshimha temple , and others as well .. I have never been to Banglore but i will definitely come there and visit these great ,divine temples for sure ...Thank u so much 🙏🙏 namaskaram,jai vitthaldeva 🙏🙏

Most Maharashtrian know about Dnyaneshwar, Tukaram, Eknath, Namdev and so many other saints and their Abhangas. But no body ever tries to take them to people this way. The commentary is superb and the singing of Abhang exceptional. The great thing is youngsters realising the need for bhakti in this troubled world and showing the way to real peace of mind. Let Panduranga show the path to realisation
