Call of Duty: Black Ops takes place during the 1960s in the Cold War, around 20 years after the events of World at War. It focuses on CIA clandestine black operations carried out behind enemy lines. Missions take place in various locations around the globe such as the Ural Mountains, Kazakhstan, Cuba, Hong Kong, Laos, South Vietnam, the Arctic circle and Siberia. The single-player campaign revolves around an experimental chemical weapon codenamed "Nova-6". This weapon is bound to be used by sleeper agents in the United States, who are infused with sequences of numbers, once broadcasts are transmitted from an unknown numbers station.

That part has a;ways stood out to me. Lol he isn't shocked whatsoever.
JFK knew about Element 115 since it's in the labs of the Pentagon and my guess is he knew about the zombies too along, McNamara probably was briefed on it but it was still classified until it happened, Castro likes fighting and doesn't question it, Nixon lost the debate but was invited to the meeting anyway, he probably had no idea about zombies let alone Element 115

I mean, it had a few good campaign FEATURES, those being the dropship thing before each mission where you can customise your gear & the other good part is the campaign being multiplayer

Call Of Duty sadly declined greatly after Black Ops 2 in 2012. That was the last truly amazing entry in my eyes.

The performances particularly by Sam Worthington and Ed Harris were absolutely brilliant. Their lines land so well. The delivery is uncommonly entertaining and satisfying, while still sounding REAL. It doesn't sound like acting. Genuinely brilliant. Honestly you don't see this caliber of acting in a lot of things let alone most games. Some of my favorite bits of dialogue: 50:57 1:38:30 2:01:53 2:11:55
James Burns and Gary Oldman were also amazing as Frank Woods and Victor Reznov, respectively. Those four really carried the entire game with their performances.

Easily definitely one of the best Campaign stories of all time, but you can't forget what Black Ops 2 did with their story with being able to choose your own paths of who dies, and who sacrifices to either capture or kill Menendez! Definitely one the craziest roller coaster rides of a story! Although BO1 was based of off history, BO2 definitely shined with being able to deal with history both in the past and the future with Mason's son! BO2 has to be my most favorite story of all time! Due to the multiple endings you get that you did throughout the story.

When I saw the player character actually speak during the gameplay, I was like “What is this? COD never lets its player characters speak during gameplay! What is this madness?!
Yeah, this was the first entry in the franchise where they actually did that, and it made Alex Mason and Jason Hudson so much more noteworthy and memorable as a result. Sam Worthington and Ed Harris, respectively, both did a phenomenal job with the voice acting.

Apart from the sake 3 explosion sound affects a which drive me insane. The sound design for the game is like nothing I’ve ever played. The sound track is one of, if not THE best sound tracks ever made. I love it. This game is one of a kind.
