Still never got over Volkanovski losing. He was such a battle tested warrior who was ultra competitive and only wanted to fight the best. He should've never taken that 2nd fight with Islam. That was a grave error. Islam you prepare for many times over, every single hour of training counts, because that dude trains like no other, but I still believe Volkanovski had the tools and grit to beat him. He just underestimated Islam by judging their previous bout to being the same exchange. Volk had too much stock in his abilities that he negated training himself to 100% let alone having to acclimate himself completely to a different environment in Abu Dhabi. Khabib said himself about Abu Dhabi, the environment and time zone is different. Jet lag can linger for several days up to weeks and he'd come at Least a Month before a fight to finish training in Abu Dhabi before a bout. He noted when he fought Gaethje, that Gaethje had only come to Abu Dhabi a week or two before the fight and noticed he was absolutely gassed during their fight.
But Volk wasn't gassed or subbed
He got caught just like he has been many times before with that left kick. It's always been an issue with him.

Jet lag lasts a few days not weeks bro. I’ve been on back to back 8 hour flights and am lazy AF. 3-4 days maybe a week. Acclimation is probably similar even when you are preparing to climb Everest only takes a couple days at base camp.
