As many of you might now, a Finnish archive had copyright-striked our video on Talvisota last week. Since, we have had a constructive talk with director. Our video will be released again and we will continue talks privately. What seems to have happened is that the Finnish archive was under the impression that they held the sole ownership of footage that we licensed from our archive. We don't have anything to do with this - it is between them. Though we are moved by the overwhelming support we have received, we have also seen many reactions towards the archive that are out of the ordinary and unacceptable. No matter what, it is not the case to threaten people, use abusive language or make personal insults. They are doing their job, we disagreed with how they did it - that's it. Please keep it civil and reasonable.
    Cheers, The Sabaton History team.

Quite possibly my favorite Sabaton song for a variety of reasons. Iraq became my war in 2005 thru 2007. I knew many who served during the 2003 invasion. I appreciate the song about my war (even if I wasn't involved in that phase of the war), and very much appreciate Sabaton honoring the human virtues of courage, honor, and sacrifice no matter the belligerent faction of whatever war and battle they write songs about. It is refreshing to listen to metal that is respectful of the warriors, and devoid of the politics.

Thing is, the occupation quote on quote had more to do with the president after Bush. Because while Bush was in charge, it actually went decently. Here's the thing though, Obama DID NOT LEARN from the soviet's attempt to do the exact thing. Where they eventually pulled out, releasing what America should have, that actually occupying and pacifying the middle east does not work. It simply forces them to use new tactics, and fight like partisans in 4Gen warfare. So a lot of the blame doesn't belong to Bush, it belongs to Obama. And frankly, we NEVER should have been in the middle east to begin with. Because all we've done is waste millions of young men and women's lives for no gain. To me, this is the ultimate example of why America needs to go back to being an isolationist. We should do trade, and have our military large enough for peacetime deployment and securing our borders. But beyond that, we should not be involving ourselves in foreign wars that bring American families nothing but folded flags in place of their loved ones. We've lost too many good men and women, the pride of our nation, in a desert that can't be fixed. We should just arm Israel, and let them go ham on the middle east.
I don't care for Bush, his policies like the "Patriot Act" are horrible. But I also think people misassign blame to him for things going sour when it wasn't actually his fault, but the presidents that followed him, mucking it up so badly.

Talking about events as history that I myself followed in the news as a teen always gives me such a weird feeling. And that one sentence of Indy that this event hasn't been told from an official Iraqi perspective yet made me understand why Joakim told in an earlier episode they don't really want to write songs angain about events so close to present.
And, I always thought Primo Victoria was the first Sabaton song you guys wrote in history topic. Knowing that it was Panzer Battalion after all makes me somehow satisfied. This song is so underrated today, but for me, it's among my favorites.

It started with primo victoria and it just went from there for me. I been listening for about 7 or 8 years and recently found this channel. I have to say sabaton really is a one of a kind band. They didnt start the concept of doing songs about war but they took it forward. Also not too many bands have a channel dedicated to teaching their fans about the subjects of their songs you guys are not just musicians your history teachers that happen to be in a heavy metal band. Thats very impressive i had good history teachers in school but they dont even compare to you.

I still remember the first time my farher was deployed the first time during this conflict. Nothing was told to my mother or I no clue where he was going and for how long.
Next thing we knew the second Operation Dessert Storm started and my mother told me exactly where my father was.
And it’s still a very interesting issue with how things are going on in Iraq.
And it really makes you realize how lucky you can be just because of where you are born and to not take it for granted.

to be honest, the AK-47 Kalasnikov for our times is like the sword for the medieval times. easy to produce, easy to use, easy to maintain functional. for a skilled solider the AK-47 is one of the best weapons to use vs the enemy infantry units even today. (sorry for the poor english. i am from Romania)

      You mean the spear dude.
Swords where sidearms meant more to display wealth and rank than to actually be used in combat, not to mention the fact they where expensive because of all the metal they used. The standard weapon for armies since the dawn of civilization has been the spear.
Regardless the AK isn’t that special as far as assault rifles go.

    • @Obsidian_Gargantuan_Leviathan
      @Obsidian_Gargantuan_Leviathan Před 4 lety

@@baneofbanes ok. you got me with the spear fact but, even if the AK is not the best asault rifle is still good enough for the average solider in all ways and still is better than a lot of newer models of infamtry fire weapons.
not for nothing is the most produced weapon design in all of our history

It was the Army. I was watching 8k feet overhead from start to finish. But I do love you all and all that you do! My only regret there is that their not a western music group telling the same stories! Or hip hop group etc etc etc....... Who needs Iron Man when one knows the story of Alvin York?
