About the Project:
Join me as we create a map rich with natural beauties, distant towns and a bustling metropolis. The aim is to create an island that feels as big as a state or territory, including vast biomes, mountains, rivers and an endless coastline. Set in Australia and New Zealand (maybe an island in between), this map takes inspiration from open world video games and the way in which the game devs create such immersive environments, such as GTA 4 and 5, Red Dead Redemption 2 and the Mafia 4 maps. To take it one step further, every thing on the map should feel unique and distinct. No city district, town or mountain should feel or look the same.

Recommendation- You should add a tram depot by the airport since thats the end of the line. Its not always like that but it will make tram connection more complex.

TM:PE has a setting that disables the "car pocket spawning". If I remember correctly it`s the "realistic parking option" (default is off)

For the vacant area by the intersection - How about a plane? In the UK we have we have old/replica planes as you drive in and out of the main roads. For example Heathrow had Concord there but think it’s an Emirates plane now. Some of our old wartime airfield (now museums) or active airbases will have Spitfires outside. Could be cool and a nice way to add some story/history to Oceania 🙂
He did something similar to that in the Mile Bay airport
I think you've done a great job of accurately portraying the absolute hellscape that is the airport (in the US at least).
Mate, your layout is just like Brisbane airport, where no expense was spared to make what is probably the wonkiest road layout ever. 🤣 Airports the world over are notorious for ending up with totally bizarre road layouts over the years as they upgrade and just slap extra bits of road everywhere. So, yours is totally authentic.

For the service road at the airport, can you not just ban all traffic on it with Traffic President? And then only allow buses (and maybe service vehicles) on it.
If you drag a bus line to the airport and make it use airport buses you have the effect you want I think.
u could try to disable vehicles on the road and only allow busses and service vehicles and make a stop right there

That was the best ad i have seen here on youtube! For the vacant side or the inside of the roundabout, you could put an airplane , similar to what you did in Mile Bay!
I loved the airplane on a pedestal you did in Mile Bay near the airport entrance. Maybe you could do something similar here, but make it a historic aircraft with a custom livery for Oceania.

I love those DLR trains you used. They sold some of the older ones to the Essen metro back in the day where they got this beautiful industrial yellow color scheme. Fits perfectly with the more edgy shape of the trains. Also the Ruhrbahn operating company has a black colliery winding tower as its logo which compliments the 70s-rustbelt-esthetics just perfectly.

Talking about spawning points at the airport: have you already tried the BOB mod? It is a really cool mod, because with this one, You can change the props of buildings, streets, or anything else you can think of. with some buildings, you can even change the spawning points.
Also, when it comes to detailing the airport, what about a museum where are you can for e.g., present disused planes of the Dundee fleet or something like that.

Great ad, something you can add to the airport complex is some warehouses and offices for the cargo part of the airport, also maybe something like a DFO or Harbour Town, or a Bunnings, part of the airport land the government has leased out for retail
21:45 the pocket car behavior can be stopped if you enable the Realistic Parking setting in Traffic Manager.
Regarding the pocket car issue i only know of the realsic parking mod, but that would impact the whole city, though it does completely get rid of this problem

On the main road right by Heathrow airport there is a bowling alley, didn't know if this would be a fun quirky thing you'd like to add to the airport. Also, there is an airport vet centre just outside too, for all the pets that travel into and out of the country that need to pass checks or be in isolation for a period of time

BTW the DLR calls a car one articulated unit, so the 4 car DLR train is referred to as 2 car on the DLR network in London
My city in Cities: Skylines has an airport that is very hard for pilot’s to land at. At first you have to fly over a mountain, then be very careful when landing as the runways are short and only a short bit from where the runway starts, there is a railway line. There’s also another runway that is also very short and has a busy road a short bit away from the end of the runway.
One of those "unique" things you can get for your airport is a Boeing 747 hostel! We've had one in Stockholm at Arlanda Airport. It's essentially an old disused 747 converted into a hotel. Maybe not directly linked to Dundee itself, but a Dundee Air branded 747 with a Hotel sign in front, plus a few spawn points could work wonders!
You could do a water feature like at Singapore and Dubai's airports near the entrance to the airport. Amazing ad and amazing series

I don't know if there is a mod for it, but custom made signage just before the highway end to show where people need to go for arrivals/departures would be cool

There are assets to make those shuttle buses and other airport vehicles. They work as buses and you make lines in the service roads.
I am a little late to the party but I think "welcome waterfall" and little garden little at Kahului Airport in Maui, Hawaii. Love your work.
To disable pocket cars, there is a setting in Traffic Manager (TM:PE) which is called "Realistic Parking"
You need some maintenance hangars for the aircraft that use the airport, plus a small military aircraft area and a small boneyard behind the hangars wouldn’t be that bad
You can turn on realistic parking in the traffic manager options
I think having the metro extend out the other side of the airport station to a small yard would help tie it into the area better.

A good idea is to make the signature of the airport the IATA code (like san Francisco is SFO) and place it in the middle of a roundabout or somewhere where everyone would see it.
I'm a new follower and I've been enjoying it. I'm slightly behind you in skill, but I have some pretty realistic parts of my city going. Your techniques go above and beyond in detailing, and I'd really enjoy a first person tour through your most detailed areas. Perhaps following a person that then takes a bus and then gets out of the bus.

What for mod are you using for public transport (the mod you use to select the vehicle for a line specific). I can't find it.

Turning on realistic parking should prevent pocket cars, since the people will walk to their cars before driving off. If you already have it enabled, though, then I'm not sure.

It’s crazy how much better traffic got after viable introducing public transit options… I’m sure there’s nothing to learn from that. I also find it funny how there’s officially no way to walk to the airport (as far as I can see). I don’t think that’s inherently unrealistic, it’s just appropriate.
I loved this, well done. It's like a vision of how they could and probably should upgrade public transport links to Melbourne airport. The corner shape with the upper and lower drop off zones looks very similar so that's what made it relatable for me. Even though its a game, as an infrastructure project it would be worth the likes of Dan-the-man-Andrews to stick his eyeballs on it... before selling the idea on to Transurban or someone for tolls and max profits instead of it being a public service.. ah.....politics. Sorry.

You should try to make the planes take off over the water and land over the city. This is often thone at large airports because of the noise over the city
