Filming Train In Front Of Me & A Train Goes Behind Me! Railroad Crossing W/ CSX & Norfolk Southern

  • Weird Railroad Crossing With Norfolk Southern and CSX Tracks. A Norfolk Southern train was going by on one side of me and then a CSX train goes by on the other side! One track has gates and lights but the other track only has a cross buck sign. Street Running Train at the end filmed by the wife in LaGrange, Kentucky. The other 3 trains are in Walton, Kentucky on the CSX Short Line and the Norfolk Southern Rat Hole Line. This unusual railroad crossing on Locust Street in Walton, Ky has a parking area between both tracks and a picnic table across the road between the tracks. Why would one mainline railroad have gates and lights while the other mainline railroad only has cross bucks? Filmed December 7, 2021. Thanks for watching! I really appreciate your support! Thank you for documenting these Norfolk Southern and CSX trains in Walton, Kentucky! That is interesting that the CSX tracks are only protected by a crossbuck and a YIELD sign. Please upload that video that your wife took in LaGrange, Kentucky. WWoT has a lot of crossings in the Dunkirk, New York area where the Norfolk Southern and the CSX tracks are right next to each other. In WWoT's area, bot the Norfolk Southern and the CSX tracks are protected by lights and gates.

    • @deanstrand4260
      @deanstrand4260 Před 2 lety

      I'll take a wild guess on why there's only a crossbuck and yield sign there.
      I'm thinking this area is probably more rural with less traffic, than Dunkirk.
      Yes, please post Mrs. Tooth''s video, of the train running right down the street. 😀😀

      Good to see so many rail cars on rail fan videos of lumber cars, that means that the stock of lumber at the big box stores and independent lumber stores has to be getting better. Maybe the prices will go down too.

    That was cool to be at that point to have a train on each track just minutes apart. That was a pretty quiet road. No cars at all came with any of the three trains. Off in the distance, it looked like a busy main route over there. As always, love the Norfie and Chessie show, another great Jawtooth video on YouTuba!!

  • @WaskiSquirrel
    @WaskiSquirrel Před 2 lety +3

    Interesting as always! Thanks to you, I'm more conscious of the flashing ditch lights. I even did a railfanning video in Rhame, ND to show that they're not always used on trains. Unlike you, I didn't film the whole train: all oil cars except for the pusher being returned.
    This video of multiple trains reminds me of when I lived in Harvey, ND which is bisected by a switching yard. There was a pedestrian bridge over the yard. Sadly, back then, I was still using film photography. I could have made some amazing videos in that town. I'm thinking about going back in the summer to do some video. One clear memory is being woken up at night as they built trains: the bang would carry through every single car. The town I live in now gets 2-3 trains per day, but they only stop if they are picking up grain at the elevator. I do have a cool photo hanging in my living room of train cars and a rainbow that I took one fortuitous day.

    • @michaelgarrity6090

    CSX has one of best locomotive lash-ups. It's a plus that they use SD40-2's and other standard Spartan Cab locomotives in mainline consists and even as DPU's! Nice catch & Great Video!
