    • @LizNess
      @LizNess  Pƙed 2 lety

      Thanks for these great questions. The following link is for how to change the interface (e.g., how to locate the brush size and opacity sliders to the side you'd prefer): procreate.art/handbook/procreate/actions/actions-preferences/
      NOTE: I orient my iPad with the power button at right. Likewise the Procreate tools I use most (brushes/palettes) are on the right. So, I prefer the sliders there, too. But, this is just a personal thing and many right-handed users prefer the sliders on the left.
      Also, graphic intensive apps can cause the iPad to heat up a bit. Here's a thread from the apple community about it: discussions.apple.com/thread/251526192
      Hope this helps and thanks again for your questions đŸ€—â€

      Hi @MISSTIROSSA. Thank you for your comment đŸ€—â€
      The tile (square pattern) you make/draw--just before you make the texture brush--is a seamless repeating tile and could be used for wallpaper. 😄
      However, if it's wallpaper for a wall (rather than a computer/tablet screen), you may need to use a different app (like Adobe Illustrator) to make a higher resolution tile. It just depends on the vendor that does the printing (like Society6, for example). Best wishes!

    Thank you so much! Quick question
I followed your tutorial, and undead have a seamless design. But as soon as I make it into a brush or the stamp, It is no longer seamless. Any ideas what I might be doing wrong? TIA!

    • @LizNess
      @LizNess  Pƙed rokem

      This is a great question. Thank you for asking đŸ€—â€ïž
      Though it doesn’t seem like it, only the original tile is seamless. That’s the artwork we use to make the texture brush. If the tile is seamless, but the design of the texture brush isn’t, there may be a setting within the Brush Studio that needs adjustment (probably Grain>Edit>Auto Repeat).
      The next part is the stamp. And, since the size of the canvas can vary, the texture we use (though it may be using the seamless tile as intended) won’t always create a new seamless tile. It just lays down our pattern on the canvas we’ve got.
      So, for me, the stamps are really about saving time for projects (for example, I create 12x12 stamps for a 12x12 canvas for scrapbook projects).
      So, in the end, if you’re looking for a seamless pattern to upload to a company like Society6, use that original tile-the art that comes before the texture brush and then stamp.😉
      I hope this all makes sense. It’s a bit different to think about seamless patterns in terms of the basic tile-we tend to talk about the completed design made of multiple tiles. So, if I just made it even more confusing, please let me know. Or, if I answered the wrong question (sorry if I did), please let me know. Meanwhile, Happy New Year and happy illustratingđŸ€—â€ïž

    Is there a reason why you use your finger and not the pencil? The pattern is very pretty!

    • @LizNess
      @LizNess  Pƙed 2 lety

      Thanks for your question. I’ve never really thought about it much. đŸ€Ł
      I think that I probably go between the pencil and my finger as if I am drawing (pencil) and then spreading around charcoal or pastel (finger). I just use the “tool” that makes sense to me, personally, in the moment.
      Honestly, I really believe that there are different and equally effective ways to approach it. đŸ€—â€ïž

    @sharonc7031 Pƙed rokem +1

    How are you switching the double color usage in the mosaic

    • @LizNess
      @LizNess  Pƙed rokem +1

      This is a great question and thanks for asking itđŸ€—â€ïž
      For the two color brushes, there are some Color Dynamics options set within the Brush Studio. For these brushes, three Color Pressure settings were set so that the two palette colors would interact with pencil pressure changes. Specifically, Saturation, Brightness, and Secondary Color. However, the percentages for each brush differ (because each brush has a different intended use). And, the Daisy Petals brush in that set (not used in this video tutorial) is a combo brush and has some interesting behaviors as a result of those Color Pressure settings.
      I just LOVE all of the options within the Procreate Brush Studio. Making brushes for this app is so fun and interesting (and sometimes a good puzzle for my brain, LOL đŸ€ŁđŸ˜‚).
      Thanks again for this question and I hope your day is AMAZING đŸ€—â€ïž

    I don't understand why use layers. I always do it without layers. Why it is better to use it.

    • @LizNess
      @LizNess  Pƙed rokem +2

      GREAT question! Really, it all comes down to preference-there really is no right or wrong way when it comes to layers. For design, I tend to use layers for two reasons and they are both related to keeping my effort low and my options high đŸ€ŁđŸ˜‚
      The first reason I prefer multiple layers is so that it is easier to make corrections-especially, if I don’t notice a mistake (or change my mind about the design) right away with shapes that are overlayed. I found it saves me effort and frustration (both in losing work if I have to undo a bunch of steps to get back to the point when I made the mistake, or in trying to cut and repair the mistake). The next reason is that I sometimes turn the layers into separate brushes so that I can lay down different colors within Procreate. So, I tend to keep like items on a layer and overlapped pieces on separate layers.
      Often, though, my illustrations and digital paintings are combined on a single layer.
      Thanks for asking about that and sharing your approach-I just love how individual approaches can differđŸ€—â€ïž
